- Lenny Williams is a soul singer best known for his time as the lead singer of the legendary Oakland-based band Tower of Power. His voice can be heard on some of the band's most popular songs, including "What Is Hip?" and "So Very Hard to Go". He is also a successful solo recording artist, with more than a dozen albums released.

Excellent! We've all gotten older haven't we? I went out with Lenny and Brent after the show in Denver, 1974. We to a bar and had so much fun. Thanks for posting your interview.
This is great, thank you. Lenny Williams is the one against which all other Tower of Power singers are compared, even now, 50 years after the fact. There have been many great ones - Larry Braggs, for example - but none has bettered the man who fronted the greatest r&b band of the era. It is good to see he is well, still singing, and enjoying life.

Such an enjoyable interview. I grew up listening to Tower of Power. And the interviewer has quite a distinctive, eng aging voice. I like his generosity and respect for Lenny and his stories.
