Was interested in the video from Brisbane.
The film he used was a few years old as l could see our new casino was still in the early stages of building.
Traffic like all cities is bad at peak times but I think we all know that is a given. The 50cent bus fares are fantastic as we are doing outings that we may not have done otherwise and spent money at restaurant etc.
weather is perfect compared to cities in north of the state.
Loved your review of this video😊

Even Tassie has bad traffic during peak hours!! It’s so insane that someone could claim that Brisbane is one of the most hated cities in Australia! It’s probably one of the favourites! Ask anyone from Tassie or Vic which state they’d prefer if they were to move interstate, and a majority would likely say Queensland & want to move to Brisbane! It’s so long since I’ve been to Brisbane, but I absolutely loved it!

Hope this guy enjoyed his time on the Prague metro!
Ah yes, Kardinia Park, the home ground of the Adelaide crows 😆😆
suppose he didn''t get too much wrong with Canberra.
Adelaide - prob world's best example of a CBD being ringed by parkland. I think there is a horse paddock in there too which might make Adelaide the only city with a horse paddock in its CBD! 😂😂
Brisbane - sunrises early every day of the year. So warm and calm. This is the same all up and down the east coast of Australia. Even a midwinter sunrise at 6.35am can give off a summer vibe, at least to us Victorians! 😂😂

I lived and worked in Adelaide for quite a few years as well as in remote SA. What I noticed being an 'East Coaster' as we are called in it seems to have a slight Napoleon syndrome complex. Instead of just being content to be the peaceful non metropolis it is it's always in a competition to out do other larger cities in any way possible. In the past decade there was a push to modernise and increase the city skyline with talker apartment towers that sit half vacant and spoil what was a unique and historical skyline devoid of the monstrosities of other larger cities with what looks like wooden building blocks and a tall domino stack.
Sydney? All I'm going to say about Sydney is I live 80k's south of Sydney and I'll never go closer than 80k's to Sydney. Probably the only city I would refuse to live in no matter what is on offer as an incentive.
Melbourne? I got lost both times I drove to the ferry terminal.
    Perth? Loved it there.
Darwin? Yehnahyehmaybe. Only been there during the dry.
Brissie? Was a nice city with a country town feeling in decades past.
Hobart? If Tassie was joined to Australia and it was a rugby league state, definitely. Like Wollongong used to be.
    That's all.

I was only thinking the other day that I could never live in Melbourne & by extension, I could never live in Sydney either!
I loved the “vibe” of Brisbane when I went there & yes, Hobart does have a really nice, friendly vibe!

I've never been to Adelaide but what he said sounded like rubbish. His idea of quiet isn't mine, Adelaide is still a city and would be far too busy for me. There are as many of us who prefer quiet as there are those who like nightlife, so to make a most hated list for that is plain stupid.
Hating politicians is about it for Canberra.
If i had to live in a city Perth would be up there on my list. Making a separate post about the 'isolation'.
Brisbane isn't that tropical but yes, as you head north its going to get hotter. This week Brissy's top temp is between 25-32. So no it's not as cool as Sydney which is 20-27. If you want cooler go south? Unless he has the option of a temperature controlled bubble very few places will be perfect.
Sydney's traffic is far worse IMO.

Perth looks like a pretty nice place to live! I’m the same, Bendigo is big enough for me in terms of city living! I rarely feel the need to head down to Melbourne & when I do, it’s usually because of something that’s on, or something that’s not available here in Bendigo!

First off, it's not representative of Australia, NZ, or Canada to pick a top 10 cities either good or bad, as there are only about 10 big cities in each of those countries. Americans forget that they have dozens of large cities. Some? He virtually picked all Australian cities. If I was going to pick US cities, I wouldn't pick the 10 biggest US cities. I'd look at places like Flint & Detroit in Michigan with clean water supply and employment issues, New Orleans which is still struggling to recover from Hurricane Katrina, Oakland with the worst crime in the country, and so on. Not just pick NYC, Chicago, LA, Miami etc just because they're the largest. Hope you saw an ibis or 2 in the ancient Egyptian exhibition. Darwin is only a 2 hour 40 minute flight from Bali so is hardly isolated. There are always positives to balance the negatives. He could be partly right on Canberra. But is dead wrong on all the state capitals. Contradicts themselves too by saying Darwin is too hot and Canberra is too cold. No city in the world has perfect weather year round. Brisbane is not tropical. It's SUB tropical. Cairns and Townsville are tropical and the humidity and heat there is much higher.Public transport in Brisbane is adequate. There is a lot of work going on to improve it in time for the Olympics. Eg Cross river rail, underground trains, metro buses, underground tollways to relieve traffic congestion etc. There is now enough to see in and around Brisbane to shrug off the "it's boring" stereotype.

I always look forward to hearing your perspective on my videos because I learn so much from you!! Yes there were ibis in quite a few pieces of stonework etc.
I must admit, from my single experience of Canberra, I wasn’t a fan, but that was mostly because of the weather, which was just my bad luck really & coloured my entire perception of Canberra!

A lot of videos bring up 'isolation'. Do people living in cities ever feel isolated? Sure people can be lonely but to me that is different to isolated. How can be you be isolated when you have everything close at hand? To me being isolated would be Birdsville. It's at the end of the Birdsville Track, costs $1000 to fly just to Toowoomba or 16 hr 35 to drive. But I don't see how someone living in a Perth suburb is going to feel any more isolated on the day to day than someone in Brisbane. Air fairs are going to be a bit more if you want to visit the east coast sure, but as you drive from your home to your work or go to the park or eat dinner, how different is it going to feel from doing that in Brisbane? I would say not at all. I am over hearing the word 'isolated' when talking about Australian cities.

I really hate these AI videos also! I have to agree with you about Melbourne! I prefer to drive down rather than sit on the train for 2 hours & then if I’m headed to the CBD, I park in the outer suburbs & catch a train the rest of the way, I noticed yesterday that from Fitzroy on, the graffiti has gotten so much worse & there were so many rude people! The drivers seem to have become more aggressive also!

I've seen far worse cities than Melbourne. Dakka in Bangladesh, Shanghai in China, Cairo in Egypt eg, Naples in Italy. They make Melbourne look like a paradise. Are you from Sydney perchance? I totally agree on AI videos. Most are terrible.

@@ChristopherJewels I'm from Tassie. I lived and worked in Melbs for a few years until the covid bs took hold. Funny how you don't like those particular cities, neither do the people who live there. That's why they're all flocking to Australia and mostly Melbourne. I have spent time in Naples. I didn't think it was too bad there, a few pick pockets about and of course all the new immigrants are a bit hard to deal with. The locals are great people though.

@@KenOath42 The 5c coin required to operate the elevators in Naples was a bit of a shock. But Napoli is worth a visit for the archeological museum alone. It looked liked a run down version of Melbourne. They had trams there too. Most Neapolitans move north to Milan, Turin, Verona, eg to escape the impoverished south of Italy.

    • @CheekyKoala
