And Titan forces did no full security sweep and extermination for clearing and searching for survivors in the ship, and having the clean up crew defenceless, inside waiting half few dozen necromorphs and the spread happens
Man. As near perfect games that both 1 & 2 are, the Audio logs play such a big role for both. The voice acting is among some of the most genuine I’ve ever heard in a video game and you can’t help but feel for these people in the face of horrifying, near-unbeatable odds.
The audio logs from the inside of the scrubbed out Ishimura are about the only thing in video games that unironically still gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it. That entire god damned level is pure, refined, weapons-grade nightmare fuel and I fucking love it.
The audio logs of both Dead Space and Doom 3 does an excellent job in their world building role of creating that cosmic lovecraftian horror atmosphere that makes the games all the more scarier to play...
Ya that and 5:31 can you imagine. Going to work you see the crew you worked and respect just the morning or day before and after you see them turned into monsters and chasing you? Very haunting indeed. Also all of Chapter 10 in the Ishimura got me too. Very creepy setting overall.
yeah, it also my favorite log as it showed people reaction to this outbreak, scariest thing i find in deadspace 2 is that events is happening on the residential ships, this isn't some mining crew like the last game or group of people off on a mission, these are people, couple and families just living and doing their own thing, a place with malls, schools and stuff. you can find a massive pile of blood in the school gym in the corner with handprints and stuff, indicating the kids hid there but got corner and trap and slaughter there. and you can find kids room in unitology rooms which it very likely the followers force and made their children participate in the group suicide

Dead Space was such an amazing survival horror saga...Dead Space 1 & 2 were WAY ahead of it's time. The gameplay, the physics, the audio, the frickin graphics... All of it was just way ahead of it's time. I just wish EA would let Visceral do a remaster of the first two games or maybe conclude the series as it was supposed to happend.

Inside the ishimura in dead space 2 the area where you activate the first tram in dead space 1 for kendra and hammond there's an audio of a woman speaking which strikingly resembles the voice of alissa vincent. There's no confirmation that it is, but that's my theory about it.
