Among the single best depictions of a strong female character in all of gaming. She never feels forced; nothing she does seems out of character. As natural and badass as Ripley from the Aliens series. props to the writers. and a damn shame what they did to her in DS3.

Shit, he does a lot of commendable things.

If there is ever a remaster of Part 3, then it would be a great idea if they made Ellie the co-op partner. In general, it would be great if they took the opportunity to change some things in Part 3.

I never notice but I think Stross' vision is actually just the camera, on the tram with ellie issat and stross, he says "he's looking at me again!" As soon as he gets on screen and briefly looks in the camera and sits down then looks over his shoulder, probably back at it again
You missed the part where she brings out Isaac's sass by asking him "are you alright" right in the middle of a gauntlet and he's like "Oh yeah! Good times!"
I was pleasantly surprised at quickly I rooted for Ellie in this game. Like, literally by the time I got to the part where Isaac watches Stross attack Ellie in the eye, I actually felt a pit in my stomach over that, and I knew then and there I loved her character. She survived it all, and I couldn't be more happy. And then she f*cking risks her LIFE again to rescue Isaac, and she rooted herself in my top ten favorite female videogame characters. She was strong minded, strong willed, very intelligent and skillful, but empathetic and compassionate. She is amazing. Now I'm not a fan of how she was treated in DS3. She didn't have that same "edge" she had in the second game. She was still very intelligent and had her skills, and she was still empathetic and compassionate (she was understandably upset with Isaac over the Norton situation, and kind of lashed at him in pain, but she quickly understands Isaac had no choice and lets him know it wasn't his fault, and that she does love him). I just wish she had more moments in battle, because I'm a complete sucker for seeing empowered badass women SHOWING their badass-ness instead of being damsels (it's one of the reason I love Lightning from Final Fantasy so much - 99% of the time, Lightning kicks butt, and if she's captured, she somehow gets away and still kicks butt).

She relied on Isaac, but to a point, and primarily for things he was qualified for (considering he's an engineer, he does a lot of that kind of heavy lifting). But it never felt like she was standing around waiting for him. Between trying to survive on her own devices, and trying to manage Stross (with Isaac away from her 90% of the time), the woman has a lot on her plate, she was always doing something proactive, she had actual agency. In 2, she's her own character. In 3, she's *only* a love interest, a plot device, and a tool for a unnecessary love triangle. You can guess which one I prefer. She could have been far worse, but she could have been way better.

One thing that annoyed me was how she just let Jennifer Santos get killed.. she didn’t even try to help her friend. Same goes with her other teammates.. she never showed any remorse to their deaths. It’s like once they are dead she easily starts up a conversation like nothing happened. Yet here we have Isaac trying to save every human life no matter if he’s known them for a few seconds, he goes out of his way to try and help them. The way he reached out to Jennifer Santos and the sound of her screaming his name as she tumbled down was so heart wrenching to see. Then Ellie a few seconds later: “you tried your best Isaac, ok now let’s get to the base”
I REALLY don't mind the Dead Space 2 Severed DLC, it's actually really cool that we get to see and old character from the franchise, Gabe Weller. But I really think a nice DLC could have been one where we see the entire game from Ellie's perspective.

Medical tech has advanced enough in the Dead Space universe that they just grow clones for replacement body parts. The reason there were so many lurkers onboard the Ishimura wasn't because it was actual babies being infected. It was the clones in their tanks aboard the medical deck getting infected as infants and breaking out. That's why in Dead Space 3 she has another eye, they just grew her a new one.
I'd play the almighty out of a game with Ellie as the main protagonist. Just go straight from the DS2 timeline, don't use anything from 3, and make sure everyone is on the same page about it being a horror game first, shooter second.
