This comment section is making me cringe. "um why do you need to cut off carbs? it's good for our body" this video is mostly for people that are on a strict carb diet. For example, diabetics. They need to cut off carbs (not all) so their glucose levels are normal like people who are not diabetic.
They are just very uneducated.

I know I'm late to the party but yea I'm not diabetic or anything but carbs, even just one sandwich goes straight to my belly. People don't believe how hard it impacts some if us. Not to mention, I think the cauliflower crust and such taste way better than flour.

Wilson Walker As much as I agree with you, there are some people who are allergic to gluten. So it's nice to have options for people who are gluten free because getting breads and pastas that don't have gluten in it is way more expensive than if you got regular stuff.

I know this is getting a lot of hate but it's actually pretty useful. For example, I'm on a diet where I can't eat any sort of grain (bread, rice, pasta, etc) and with this I can make substitutes.

Rice is good for filling up, so is whole grain pasta... I'd recommend you to eat this and rather eat less sugar and less fat :)

My mother is on a low carb diet to lose some weight, and she's been using lots of cauliflower to replace carbs. One recipe that was actually really good was fake mashed potatoes made out of mostly mashed cauliflower and cheese. It was amazing ;_;

Because my family and I are on a paleo diet, we substitute quite a lot with cauliflower! We have cauliflower rice too and another substitute for mash potato is cauliflower puree! Tastes so similar however is quite lighter, tastes so good
I think that a majority of those who have commented missed the point of the video. This video never said that other ingredients in the recipes weren't bad for you, but instead gave recipes that cut out carbs. As a type one diabetic, I feel that this video is a great help because I personally try to eat a low carb diet. Yes cheese is bad for you, but that's NOT the point of the video!

how can 1k people dislike this? jeeze. now us celiacs and Gf free people can enjoy an alternative to bread AND Gf bread. some of that stuff tastes downright awful, with a horrid texture. I'd rather have vegetable crust than cardboard bread.

Cheese is very low carb, and this is for a low carb/high fat diet. You have to get your calories from somewhere, and if you're not getting them from carbs, you're getting a large bulk from fat. Fat isn't the enemy, it's an energy source.
Carbs turn to glucose causing insulin to spike. Bad all around especially for diabetics like me. Fats cause no insulin spike whatsoever. Great for diabetics like me. #KETOLIFE

Carbs are unhealthy. Your body burns carbs and stores fat. BUT if u eat low carbs, then ur body will burn fat and store the carbs (which is healthier). Also eating Carbs indirectly clogs ur arteries. Carbs damage ur arteries and ur body uses cholesterol to heal it. But the "damage" causes inflammation and when u have cholesterol and inflammation in ur artery, it becomes clogged. Carbs also can cause insulin resistance which leads to diabetes.

You can make that last one vegan but mixing soaked cashews, nutritional yeast, spices and a little water. Tastes SO good. Put some toasted pumpkin seeds just before serving on top and it's amazing.

bert1029 It makes sense. Milk contains casomorphines which is an addictive substance to have a baby calf come back to his or her mother to drink. One pound of cheese takes about 10 pounds of milk to make. It’s just compounded hormones, fat, cholesterol, puss, feces etc. I used to drink cups of milk every single day until I found out how bad it is for you. Igf1 a compound found it milk promotes cancer growth, milk causes inflammation in the arteries and brain, causes osteoporosis etc. Please don’t drink or eat cows milk, it is horrible for you.
i use coconut flour to absorb the moisture with cauliflower. it sucks up water like crazy and is low glycemic index, 17g of carb per ounce but 12g of fiber per ounce so a net of only 5g carb per ounce. just a couple teaspoons handles 2 cups of cauliflower.
This is great for my mother because she is diabetic and has to watch her carbs and this is very helpful

it's weird that people would rather be taking out carbs in their diet and replacing it with cheese and egg as if those were healthier lol. carbs are energy, there's literally no reason to be afraid of them.
Some people see a difference with a high fat/low carb diet. Some people don't. It depends on the person and what's right for their body. Some people also do it if they have diabetes or pre-diabetes, eating low carb helps you naturally regulate your insulin levels. So in some cases, yes, egg and cheese are healthier options.
Eggs are just the 2nd most healhy food you can eat, just not fried.

This is good for very low carb diets, like Atkins. They actually work, and yes, they contain a lot of fat, but excess fat isn't stored the way excess carbs are, which causes you to lose weight.

When the body enters a state of Nutritional Ketosis (not Ketoacidosis), after 4-6 weeks the body will become fat adaptive. Without carbohydrates (glucose) in the body, the liver breaks down fat into ketones, ketones provide energy, and the remaining are excreted through urine and basic exhalation. This is why people on low-carbohydrate diets can eat large amounts of high-fat/low-carb foods that they want and have better blood pressure, blood sugar, decreased inflammation, better fertility, no blood sugar swings, less depression, no more ADHD, and weight control. The science of how the body works is undeniable. ALL carbohydrates, whether it's coming from a Cola or a Carrot, turn into glucose in the body. Putting vitamins in a Cola though does not all of a sudden make it healthy, which is the rationale some people use to rationalize eating 'healthy" carbs. There are healthier carbs than others, but they are not essential. The body has used fat as fuel for much longer than it has carbohydrates. I just wish people would just say, "Hey I eat carbs because I think they taste good, instead of decreasing some type of dissonance by stating they are necessary! Carbs aren't bad by itself, it's how much you eat and what you eat with it. This video showed a lot of ingredients that would push my lipid profile off the charts.
This seems llike a good way to cook around carb intake, which I like because carb loading should be limited to days before strenuous exercise. It's neat, I'll hold onto these.

For your body to function pretty well you need them. Its your main energy source. So basically, if you want your body to be well and healthy..then you should eat carbs!

yeah. but these are ways to replace most carbs in the more soul food they showed. this wouldn't really be as much for dieting but for people who actually can't eat those, but don't know how they would be able to enjoy these things. Any shades of yellow or orange are just food colouring ;/ The colouring won't kill you obviously, if consumed in moderation, but some of the artificial colouring can be worse than others. American kraft mac and cheese for example has harmful colourings that are not too nutritious for the body (not sure if they are still added to the product, I read an article last year). There was a huge debate last year where American moms demanded Kraft to take it out because Canadian Kraft dinner didn't have it, only the American version did so basically avoid buying coloured cheese if you can (or come to Canada! or become vegan lol)

Anyone who has blood sugar problems has to eat a low carb diet unless they want diabetic retinopathy, neuropathy, heart disease, kidney failure, etc. and they are looking forward to an early death. The only thing wrong about the cheese used is that it looks like processed cheese singles and is probably made with oil rather than milk. That is unhealthy. Otherwise, cheese has almost no carbs, and is a good source of protein and fat, and is very healthy as is the cauliflower. Your piece of bread, on the other hand, is loaded with sugar and spikes blood sugar levels.
Jan96106 there is a difference between glycemic index and insulin index. eating a piece of candy is very bad for diabetics, eating an apple is not.

You can also use cauliflower as rice too if you don't have rice or you want something more healthier. Use a cheese grater and grate off the top but not the stem. And you have cauliflower rice.

It's good for you if not eaten with carbs.
Your body enters ketosis; meaning that it switches to burning fat instead of carbs since carbs are not around anymore. Hence, all that cheese you eat and everything in between during your day will be burned plus extra fat which is already stored on your body. And this is pretty much the ketogenic diet in a nutshell...(see Atkins).
You don't get it! For some people like me counting carbs not calories works! Everyones bodies work different so don't knock it till you try it!

+Laura Jespersen True, but in most of those recipes it's replacing things like bread, pasta or rice - which are, by many branches of "health food people", labelled as "empty carbs"; and, in the case of bread and pasta, contain gluten and wheat, which is a big no-no for some of said "health food people". So, in effect, it's replacing an "empty" carb with a "nutritious" carb. Using the grilled cheese "sandwich" for instance, this is an excellent alternative to someone who has celiac disease or just wants to cut bread out of their life, but still craves a good ol' grilled cheese "sandwich".

It's not really funny, while carbs CAN be beneficial for the body depending on the source/type of carbs and how active the person consuming it is. Many people have succeeded achieving their weight loss goals by cutting off the carbs, this video is aimed towards those people.

LOL you have no clue. To bash something you personally have never tried. Do it for just 1 week...Count carbs not calories...you only need 18-22g carbs per day and you will lose a ton of weight. Eat all the Beef Pork Chicken EGGS you want plus CHEESE.

Cauliflower = Very low carbs. Also, fat isn't the enemy like you think it is. Low carb/high fat diets are used by people to lose weight, and by many athletes. Sorry, but you're just wrong. There is not one perfect diet that fits everyone.

To those who say carbs are not the enemy: If you look at how many carbs we eat in Western culture (America for me), and the fact that it turns to sugar, with all the sugar we also eat (fruit included), that adds up to the diabetes and obesity epidemic. Also, you need to count net carbs (carbs minus the fiber) so cauliflower is actually pretty good. Check out Keto diet and science behind it.

i added old bay and onion to the grilled cheese and it was excellent!
