You're just starting out. Joss usually starts his shows with the "monster of the week" format. Also, as much as "Buffy" is all about growing up, "Angel" is about life after that. I think you'll be surprised at what they address before season 1 is even over. "Angel" does not shy away!
Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman died on June 12, 1994 and the trial spanned eight months, from January 24 to October 3, 1995, Mikey. This episode aired on Oct 26, 1999.
@@732ReviewCrew Actually, you are more right then wrong as those comments on the show were made after the events of the trial so it makes sense they were saying negative things about the situation.
Again Angel as a show this time looks at stalking and obsession in I Fall To Pieces. An interesting take on it here to the extreme with the evil Doctor trying to use coercive control to feed his obsession by detaching his body parts. Cordelia trying to get Angel to start charging clients adds some comic relief, with the first cheque at the end being gleefully accepted by Cordelia and Doyle. Another great bit of writing with social comment on a very serious issue that affects a lot of people. Interestingly enough the evil Doctor here is the same actor that played D'Hoffryn in BTVS who we first saw in Dopplegangland S3 of BTVS, he often appeared in the show. This is very much in the style of an X-Files episode like Squeeze, where Tooms was able to manipulate his body in all sorts of contortions. A lot of reactors who begin to watch Angel just says it's not as good as BTVS, but I think Angel is a brilliant show in its own right.
2:39 Angel has had cars before,(Even Spike) If u remneber a look back in Buffy TVS, when Angel saw buffy at a LA school, He was driving a rusty car and saw her for the first time.
When Angel was on Buffy the Vampire Slayer he drove an Impala with black painted windows. The first time I remember the convertible he is driving in the episode is from the Angel series.
His convertible on this show is a '67 Plymouth. On Buffy, The Dark Age, during the hospital during the blood delivery scene, there's one just like it, except it's dark blue.
The only time Angel is seen in the Impala (as well as the Impala itself) is when Angel saw Buffy "called" in L.A.. We don't even know that the car was his. Whistler had just contacted Angel recently during the time that he was living in the sewers. I doubt that he had a vehicle. It's possible he acquired one. It's also possible that the paint was added by Whistler so that Angel could see what he wanted to show him & thus the Impala was actually his. Zero indication that Angel had the car (or any car) in Sunnydale. No one even mentions one that I can recall. We certainly don't see one. The Plymouth is definitely Angel series only. ❤🧡💛💚💙💜
Almost forgot about that episode, actually most of the season 1 episodes. They weren't bad, but the show really needed to find itself during the first season...
Thanks guys. An enjoyably creepy episode but not one of the best of Angel season one. Cordy and Doyle's banter is always fun. I do like the next one a lot.
It's jarring to hear Cordy use the R-word, especially since it wasn't part of her normal vernacular coming off Buffy where the word was also rarely used. It's hard to remember how common the term was until you realize that it didn't fall out of common usage until late into the 2000s.
Like a lot of TV shows, the first season it's trying to find itself a bit, but it's still solid. I honestly only remember one episode I dislike from Angel, and even that's now awful. It really holds up overall. It also becomes less formulaic as it goes on.
What car did he drive in season 2 of buffy when we got the flashback of him checking out buffy in LA, when a watcher first walked up to her? I assume you can lower the roof on that one?
Okay, it’s DOYLE. With a “d.” Every time you say “Boyle” all I see is a pimple! 😂😂😂
Next episode starts and I realize and I'm so sad I messed it up! Sorry 😂
@@732ReviewCrew Thats you're won misteak four teh yeer.
Just don't let it happen again. 😁
OMG. I thought Mikey was Doing A Bit.
i started twitching each time 😄 cause he was using it more and more, lol.
The doctor is the same actor who plays D'Hoffryn on Buffy.

Wow I was way off but I'll also admit I didn't know when that occurred, year wise.

I think that was Whistlers though.
I wish we could get an Angel reaction every day lol
I love Doyle, and him trying to balance Angel and Cordy’s needs. He’s so lovely and down to earth.

He didn't have it on Buffy, but he's had it since the beginning of his series (it's L.A., you need a car lol)...
He had something similar with tinted windows and a roof
Sometimes your puns are really getting out of hand, Mikey...
😉
There's even an O.J, joke in Shrek 2

On this show, he keeps a blanket handy inside the car,
Is there a camera in her eye? Dude, you're watching Angel. It can't be as simple as that.
4:24 ah yes the 90s when you was free to say what you want haha, among my fav words

Which episode do people get more creeped out and/or disgusted over: this one or the second one?
Without Joe in the middle, Mike looks like a giant next to Mikey.
