As a woman who was questioned, ridiculed and (mocked in an indirect way) in Agric research…this was great. I am going to try to advocate. You go !

As a woman who owns and operates both a cattle ranch and a USDA Slaughterhouse, I strongly disagree with the notion that gender determines how we are treated. Whether working with eggs or as a rancher, respect in this field is earned by everyone, regardless of gender. When new individuals join the industry, they need to prove themselves, just like anyone else. It's not about being a girl; it's about demonstrating competence and dedication. I believe in focusing on the work at hand rather than playing the victim or complaining. I appreciate the unique strengths that both men and women bring to agriculture, and I'm grateful for the diverse contributions we can all make.

My experience is nothing like this. If they act like fools, call them on it. When the guys say crude shit, be just as crude right back. Carry a gun. I guess I just don't play the victim. If you want respect, men respond to it when you're not a whinny brat.
