I am 56 years old. I first heard this when I was around 10 or 11 years old. It is my favourite piece of music of all time and space. I do not understand it but it is fucking brilliant. I have heard so much music in my life and a hell of a lot of it is great...but I want to die listening to this in the last 20 minutes of my life.
I like a lot of music. I am currently investigating a lot of things I missed when I was younger. I believe that all music is prevalent. All music means something..... .....but what I will say is that "Phallus Dei" is the best 20mins that I can ever spend, any time. I want to hear it again on acid. I want to hear it again before I die. I want to hear it when I die. What more can I say?
They have some good shorter songs aswell,Kanaan,Henriette Krötenschwanz,Pale Gallery,Archangels Thunderbird,Wolf City, and Im Krater blühn wieder die Bäume are all pretty good examples. Definitely not like Ash Ra Tempel which I find to be more of a chore to listen to although I do enjoy some early German Synth Shit (mostly Kalus Schulze and Kraftwerk aswell as Edge of Time by Dom if it counts).
I think I first hear this when I was about 9 when it had been out and about for a couple of years. Who the fuck can say they've been into Düül since they were 9..... .....me 😂
This was 1969. They were influenced by Pink Floyd. 2 or 3 of them saw Pink Floyd when they were over to visit Renate Knaup in London. They have links to Hawkwind (first album release 1970). King Crimson, no links whatsoever, as far as I can know, though their first album was 1969 too, I could be wrong though.

I have just discovered this album, and for sure this piece will be listened to on my next acid trip 2 weeks from now. Sublime piece of art.
This is the most art that you can find in 20 minutes
This is an insane composition! It's like the Mothers of Invention + the Velvet Underground
Yes, kind of
@@2hurricane11 better than anything Zappa ever released though.
Man the mixing on this thing is soo good, I'm blown away, the amount of detail is just incredible

Renate Knaup is the krautrock queen.
Questa è la musica più tedesca che possa esistere, Romanticismo ed espressionismo
This group's music has a very compelling quality....
I've seen them two years ago in Trieste, amazing show
Psychedelic krautrock

You can hear post rock bands like Thee Silver Mt. Zion in Amon Duul.
What else?
You don't say ?
It sounds a little like early pink floyd, but I don't see any similarities with king crimson.
This is from the 60's dude before PF ans KC. The movement name is krautrock after the second war.
I agree with. Listen to the vocals midway on Luzifers Ghilom that is 70's Hawkwind.
Pink Floyd's first album was released in 1967, two years before 1969...
lol, man, go back to rock history 101 dude..
