The post-blind split is not only the boat eye and simply not missing the stronghold at high level, but also how we play the fort split - i think most top players try to overlap as many things as possible before blinding, such as zero prep, eye crafts etc, and therefore blind on 5/6 rods very often. So fort splits are a little bit longer because of that, but post blinds are greatly improved, not inlcuding the terrain nav to coords, choosing the best terrain etc, which i see lower rated players struggling very often. Stronghold is all about the nav, and not knowing preemptive sets you back so much, cause you basically just run blindly in every direction. Even when you know preemptive, you need to recognize different spikes from different spawners and portal room + chests/mobs combinations, and have some kind of intuition and game plan what to do when you dont get a spike or you get a bad one. To get stronghold split to a consistent level is a very long process of getting experience and doing good decisions every time. Good video btw i love stats
Hmm yea you're right high level forts splits have more timesaves which don't appear until later in the run Also good point about preemptive too, i sometimes forget how hard strongholds are to nav without it. I guess it's on a similar level to eray, if you don't know what it is you'll automatically have to search like 4x as much Thanks :3
one thing about the relatively small change between coal and netherite bastion splits is that bastions are just necessary for ranked. a low level player *needs* to know how to route bastions for ranked so its the first thing they will learn. bastions are also relatively easy to learn compared to other splits because simple routing can just be memorized. compare that to a blind split, which requires in the moment problem solving to navigate terrain, a skill that a low level player cant just study up for. the bastion practice map is much easier to grind out than running blind splits with how varied they can be. As the death rate shows, obviously they aren't very good at routing bastions because of the inexperience, but the gap between routing a bastion slowly/safely and routing a bastion at top level isn't going to be huge. in many cases, they run roughly the same route, just slower.
That's very true. I didn't mention this in the video because I didn't want it to drag out so much, but the way I calculated the average times for splits meant that for all the players who entered the bastion, died, and forfeited, their time wouldn't be counted. If they died, finished the route and entered the fortress, then that whole ordeal would be counted. So, I suspect it's also due to how my data mostly had these cleaner-than-expected bastion routes where low elo players (who forfeit more when they die than top players) didn't die. I guess to get the full picture of which splits are the most important, you need to take both charts into account.
@@nqdoms yeah it kinda comes down to what you are trying to get out of the data. if you are just looking for the skill gap, both charts would be necessary. I think the more interesting stat to look at is how much room lower level players have to improvement, like how much time is there to save in the bastion compared to a top player? these statistics are very interesting, but they are all ranked specific considering how rsg just plays very differently. ranked is intended to be consistent so these stats are going to reflect that. honestly, i think an interesting stats project could be looking at reset efficiency in rsg and the impact it can have on pace.
Hello Naddy this was an absolutely incredible video, I really loved the use of 3d graph and the uhh the transitions that you added. Next time, could you maybe include a facecam so I can increase my parasocial relationship with you? Thank you! xx
6:41 the fact Walter (doogile) has his own thingy is funny did you rlly think there was anything down here? also the video was REALLY good, awesome work!
Great video I suspect the reason there's such a difference in blind splits is because high elo players always hit the stronghold cause of boat eye. Whereas low elo players will miss a lot of the time and are also much more likely to blind travel As for stronghold I'm not too sure why the pace gap is that big. Like I wouldn't expect not knowing preemptive to do any more than double the average stronghold time but I'm sure there's a reason
Hmmm yeah that makes a lot of sense, actually speaking from experience when I first started it took me like several months to remember that home portal was an option
Noice yap session. "Zero cycling" and minecraft were two things I never expected to ever hear in the same sentence ngl You did well with the editing I think and your voice seemed so smooth, I can't believe its not butter. Keep it up nadoms :) (+1 sub and like so your number go up)
Best is in the mcsr ranked discord bot channel (inviting the bot yourself is a bit weird with slash commands), if you play this is it mcsrranked.com/discord

Great video

I bet you Danger1451 has a solution, or a very eloquent answer to this!
That was interesting

What software did you use for your graphs and dynamic visualizations because this all is very well made and high quality
I used manim (a python library) to code every graph and animation - you might know of 3blue1brown, he's the one who created it
this video quality made me think you had ~10k subs. as a stats nerd myself, good video
doogile proved that he is best player today
sick video - instantly subscribed. where can i find this bot you made?
Really appreciate it ! I just added that to the description, you can use it in the bot channel of the ranked discord here mcsrranked.com/discord
Very cool video :)
