WOW. How come this isn't on regular TV - rather than Olympis every 4 years.
I'd watch it.
I watched Team GB in action on a TV Sports Show.... True sportsmen. This looks a very physical game. I will follow this event with interest.
Go Team GB!!!
I'm a rugger. I'm impressed.
But this lads are more insane than we are.
Amazing!
looks like some sort of mix between rubgy with the tackling and scoring system but like basket ball with the court and the shot clock.
gonna be great to watch. Best of luck to all teams involved.
awesome
I would have never thought.
epicness
That's one seriously hardcore sport.
Yes.
Each team has a total of eight points to field 4 players.
Greater impairment = Lower points "cost" (from 0.5 to 3.5)
Every woman in team give 0.5 extra point to the team
There seems to be some confusion, from what I gathered, youre allowed to ram your wheelchair into the side of another players wheel chair even if its sends them flying, but youre not allow to let your body do the impact. Is that right?
Whoa
How well do wheelchairs work on grass?
hysterical!
Since you're nitpicking: "Running" is not a sport, just as walking isn't a sport. Marathon and race walk are sports.
Not sure whether it's rugby. More like the possession play and time restrictions of American football and basketball. I look forward to watching it though.
Go hard or go home, come on team GB!
With a lot of difficulty and pain.
Running is a very physical sport, but it's also non contact. Physical is not a synonym for contact.
Or a play the ball.
Respect to all Paralympians. If I was in they're situation I would be whinging a bitch and be like "why did this happen to me?" and probably do nothing in wheelchair. BUT these guys, with true heart put they're bodies on the line, train like crazy and are willing to do something rather than let they're disability hinder them.
Looks cool but they should put Boadiceas on the wheelchairs! That would make the sport more interesting.
How would a ruck work with wheelchairs?
why dont they play outside
I was expecting them to smash them to the floor lmfao
I don't see why the Paralympics isn't combined into the Olympics as one big event. Its almost discriminating against disabled people. Joining the two events would then put more emphasis Paralympic sports as proper competitive sports- people would be more keen to see them as people are with the Olympic sports. I just don't see the necessity for the two to be separated.
Musicman. There are no rucks!
how is this rugby? it has no similarities to rugby at all.
This shouldn't be called wheelchair RUGBY. There are no similarities between this and rugby whatsoever. Still fun to watch tho.
Running is a very physical sport. LOL.
Running is very physical, but calling it a sport is pushing it. Anything you can do alone is by definition not a sport in itself. Just because you compare completion times at the end doesn't mean it's suddenly a sport.
And before someone gets all irate...I'm a runner and I'm entitled to think that my participation in races doesn't qualify as a sport.
