Wheelchair Rugby was invented in 1977 by a group of Canadian quadriplegic athletes, who were looking for an alternative to Wheelchair Basketball that would allow players with reduced arm and hand function to participate on equal terms. The sport they created, which incorporates some elements of Basketball, Handball and Ice Hockey, has since grown into a thrilling and intense spectacle, and is enormously popular with Paralympic spectators around the world. This is the only sport that needs physiotherapists doctor and a welder in the backroom staff
I thought Rugby was hardcore - this is on the next level. They have no fear
pro tip: watch movies on Flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching a lot of movies lately.
@Jonathan Miller yea, I have been watching on Flixzone for months myself :)
this looks like ten times more dangerous than normal rugby
Only for the toughest! 💪 You should see it live it's even better!
This is how fearless looks like.
This is fantastic I love it💖
Have a nice day. I like Wheelchair Rugby.
So Proud because my cousin Aaron is in this video he plays for Great Britain (Team GB) he is wearing a white sweatband on his head and his shirt is 13
OMG I was in this :) I got a close up and everything :D me with my giant Australian glasses haha. And also my brothers and my brothers fiancé was in it too :D congratulations chris for winning the gold
2:20 i think
The name really doesn't seem accurate to the activity - this is a sport in it's own right and any links to rugby are tenuous and best.
Stephen Walker it's called rugby because it's the only full contact wheelchair sport and they couldn't market the original name murderball.
The best sport ever, at the best Games ever. My wife watched 14 hours solid rugby one day while I was working (Gamesmaker); I finished my shift in time to join her and see GB beat Sweden. Magic.
What a cool sport 😁
This is like bumper cars if someone was trying to grope you the whole time.
I want to play this, its like bumping cars with rugby. I dont have problems with my legs but still I would love to practice it.

Why aren't the coaches and referees in wheelchairs as well? That's a little odd isn't it?

What song is in this?
as expected, wheelchair rugby puts wheelchair footy to shame! Truly inspirational!

they should do this except for regular olympics. so its a bunch of regular, fully functional people in wheelchairs but if you get out of your chair it's a foul. and if you get out of your chair and fight it's an ejection.
Respect! I was only laughing about if wheelchair guys were behaving like this on the street. Like for example 2:15 that was priceless 👌
Where their legs at tho?
This was awesome watching! I have Hydrocephalus, and at the age of 9 I suffered from a stroke due to the pressure in my brain being so high. After that, I spent nearly 2 years In wheelchair, before I was slowly able to regain the use of my left leg after several months of both physical and occupational therapy. I had to depend on a walker for a few years after that, even to walk at home. I still have to use the walker today, but only when I go somewhere that requires me to walk a long distance. I owe all of my thanks to GOD, because I know that I wouldn't be here sharing my story with you now if GOD didn't intervene. I don't understand why HE chose to save me, but I'm thankful that HE did. Praise be to our LORD and Savior, Jesus Christ! I pray for anyone that may be dealing with the trials of life, that our LORD Jesus Christ be with you and comfort you. GOD Bless each and every one of you. Amen.
Rather than calling ourselves DISABLED, why not use a much more inclusive term like CHALLENGED... For more info check out michaeldhaines.com
