A lot of people watch this and take away "bravery" and "taking action"; but I'm just blown away by his inventiveness. Not having legs was just a hurdle for him. Being able to move fast and do backflips was the prize and he made that happen. I think that has less to do with bravery and conscious perseverance/ work, and more to do with being innovative and not seeing the pitfalls for what they are. Whatever the case may be, this guy's a champion in every way.
I don't know why but I keep coming back to this video every couple of months. This was the first video of Wheelz my brother showed me after I got sick (I'm in a wheelchair ever since) and it changed my view of wheelchairs and disability completely. Thank you Aaron for being so awesome.
This is one of the best examples of determination. Not letting your handicap getting in the way of doing what you love. Again a fantastic video, Devin. You and your friends never fail to make video's that live up to my expectations. Well done!
he is just such an admirable person. He doesnt just sit on his wheel chair for the rest of his life feeling depressed!!!He does cool stuff and socializes. I believe he is a man with social prestige not only at his ciyy but all over the world! Well done dude keep doing what you doing and i hope that you get well in the future if a cure is found!!! :')
This guy should inspire everyone here. He has overcome the curveballs that life has thrown at him, and pursues what he loves. Even when he falls, he gets up, dusts himself off, and tries again. So much respect for this guy! Learn from him guys!
I needed this. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. As a fellow handicapped person I can honestly say you have changed my whole outlook on life! You are a true inspiration! ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!
He could inspire some kids who want to skateboard/bike but feel they can't because they're trapped in their wheelchairs. Build sturdy wheelchairs for kids who want to be active and be accepted by their communities. Awesome Wheelz!
It needs more than sturdy wheelchairs. It takes parents, teachers and society not being overprotective of disabled people and saying 'what if you get hurt?' Disabled people get treated like babies FAR more than able bodied people. I'm a disabled adult and I'm not allowed to take the risks that other adults take because venue owners say it's for my own good. It's not wheelchairs that trap people - my chair represents freedom to me, I've travelled the world in it. People's attitudes are FAR more restrictive.
Maybe doing enough tricks like that will end him up on a bike. The technology is coming and they will surely need some people not afraid an adventure! If he wants it.
When you feel like you can't do anything just watch this video. You put enough effort into doing something you can do anything. Crazy awesome, props to people like this man.
I have been waiting for this! I saw your instagram and was so excited I been fallowing his story for years. He is amazing. Nitro Circus is so lucky to have him on tour with them.
I love all of your videos but it's the ones like these that are inspirational. My 7 year old son was standing behind me and I told him to never let someone tell you that you can't do something. He looked at me and said... "That guys is amazing. I want to get his autograph!!"
B3wareTheIdes Why would I tell him that? Never know we could end up at one of Devin's shoots and he could be there. Never say never to a kid at the age of 7 because you never know what they can accomplish by being told to follow their dreams.

This guy is amazing, to do something like this after getting paralyzed that would usually drive people to be depressed or anger to-urge the world and be this happy and good at it. All the respect in the world:)

Pretty sweeping thing to say. Not all disabilities are the same. Not every disabled person could do this. Try saying 'what's stopping you?' to a person with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis who can't even speak or move a muscle.
Plenty of times people try and try and try to do something and they just genuinely can't do it. Comments like this just make people feel like a failure when we should instead be able to accept we all have limits and it's OK to not succeed at something
This guy is inspiring to me and made me do my tricks harder he is amazing and it proves even if u are in a wheel chair nothing can hold you back from life and having fun even with disabilities

Hi Patrick, I'm also a wheelchair user. Hope you don't mind me giving you some advice. Firstly, use positive language about yourself and your disability, and that includes your wheelchair. I assume you're not strapped into your wheelchair 24/7. So instead of using the negative term 'wheelchair bound', just say you use a wheelchair, like a short sighted person wears glasses. It's a useful tool, nothing more. You'd be able to do far less without it, right? So love it. There will always be ignorant people who make fun of disabled people.
