What a sweet offering! Rob keeps on bringing Us this great news on AK offerings, and I imagine My retirement is getting chiseled at even more this year for sure...Ha Ha!
D. Alex Oprea Reports were coming in about feeding issues, along with the fact folks were reporting that certain popular polymer mags wouldn’t fit into the adapter. It was almost hit and miss on them. Some folks were reporting good results as well.
PSA is coming up with their 5.56 version of the AK with a magwell (Aluminum not plastic). I know this because I watch the AKOU channel :) I kinda like the idea of using M4 mags and having a bolt hold open feature.
D. Alex Oprea Here is the issue. If that PSA rifle was originally engineered to use Stanag mags and PSA got the feeding geometry right then it’s going to most likely be reliable. If they just slapped a Stanag mag well on an AK without the engineering prep work then most likely there is going to be trouble with it. I don’t have a dog in this fight in that I don’t plan on purchasing one. I have other 5.56 AK variant platforms I am interested in. But I do wish you the best of luck in getting the PSA model and I hope you really enjoy it !
With my example I took off the polymer layer off the left feed lip on the circle 10.As the steel zastava mag has a little milled slot to accommodate the brass deflector”ejector” .I believe this is better than the mag catch file job, lets the magazine fit further up in the receiver and the bolt picking up rounds more easily.peace

Hey Rob could you try with Galil magazines? Its going to be a bit complicated because their are 2 types of galil mags, but they ones from dsarms allegedly works very well from a few people i know. The difference in galil magazine is that in the later versions(updated some time in the 80´s) the feed lips sits higher in the magazine.
So much want!! hopefully they actually release the rifle version, also hopefully the price is decent! i was saving for a Bren-2, but CZ is blundering hard with the release of the rifles so i decided i will spend my "bren money" on something else. the Sig Virtus was at top of the list, until i saw this video ;-) .
Its about time people started showing the M85 love. As long as there is a mag supply or alternatives the M85 is GTG. Just wish we’d get full sized rifles without that lame ass mag adapter.
I would love to be excited about Zastava's offerings, but they just seem to be lacking in terms of the extra goodies that PSA includes in the purchase price. It is hard to argue against the options for different kinds of polymer or wood furniture, different types of braces, and a railed top cover that actually works, for instance.

Inner me-STFU!!
This is what Ive been looking for
Great vid as always...
5.56 kicks ass in AK. it would be interesting to see one chambered in 300BKL.
What a sweet offering! Rob keeps on bringing Us this great news on AK offerings, and I imagine My retirement is getting chiseled at even more this year for sure...Ha Ha!
What was wrong with the M4 magazines on the earlier imports? I can see people now bitching about the availability and price of the AK 5.56 magazines.
I think people didn’t like the fact that it is using AR magazines...I honestly don’t know. I actually liked them with adapter.
@@winkleried Got it.
From my own tests the AC unity 5.45x39 magazines work too just not the LRBHO
Rob like always excellent video!!! You made me to a Zastava Fan lol. Hey if you in the Fort Hood area let me know.
M85 in 5.45 would be great
With my example I took off the polymer layer off the left feed lip on the circle 10.As the steel zastava mag has a little milled slot to accommodate the brass deflector”ejector” .I believe this is better than the mag catch file job, lets the magazine fit further up in the receiver and the bolt picking up rounds more easily.peace
Keep all your Magazines loaded, Empty mags are like dead power tool batteries, Unless when you need them.
7.62x39 US PALM STAINLESS STEEL LATCH CAGE MAGAZINES are awesome.
I use a Irwin Qiick-Grip clamp to dissamble. Point in a safe direction , wear safety glasses.
0:38 a little too close to your line of fire to be safe...
Perhaps the camerman just zoomed in
I love my m85np, to me the ar mag compatibility is a no braineder. Cheap mags and no need to buy proprietary mags. My m85np is one of my favorite guns and it only cost me $449 when I bought it. I get the original configuration is correct, but I do not like have to buy different mags, I buy ak mags, ar mags and psa akv mags is all I need to run about 10 different guns.
Please also make a video on zeroing of this gun
Its just like regular AK
25 meters zero will get you to 300
I love the Krinkov style. When i turn 21 im def getting one.
Another great, informative video.
Got my shirt Rob. Thank you. I didnt realize you were just south of us. I would like to do some shooting with you sometime when Im passing thru. Always enjoy your work. Keep them coming -Hazen Armory Cerakote
So Mr Rob Ski i just purchast a zpap85 to add to my group of ak's . would love to see a 5000 round test on one and oh yes the swamp Thanks for the great reviews .
Good looking set up. Still like my M92 better as it takes AK magazines. Thanks Robski for your ourstanding presentation.
The range theatrics are on point in this intro! Will you teach me to dance all silly like that please?
Ninja Shit important part of RUclips life! Lol!!!!
Best weapon ever
It dose have the extra thick strip of metal in front of the rear sight. Sure you can drill and tap it and add a rail
That was fast, they just announced these right?
Yep! That’s why I have high hopes for full size now!!!
Darknal ZUSA was talking them up a couple of months before SHOT.
Its about time people started showing the M85 love. As long as there is a mag supply or alternatives the M85 is GTG.
Just wish we’d get full sized rifles without that lame ass mag adapter.
Jeremiah Cherry I would love to have a M-21 !
I have a Zastava m85 in 5.56, favorite gun.
I Reload 5.56 and an AK in said caliber is gold!!!!!
I would love to be excited about Zastava's offerings, but they just seem to be lacking in terms of the extra goodies that PSA includes in the purchase price. It is hard to argue against the options for different kinds of polymer or wood furniture, different types of braces, and a railed top cover that actually works, for instance.
You're paying for the name and history. Zastava AK's have seen war and proven themselves. PSA guns only see the range.
I love this gun so much. Only a couple hundred rounds in but goddamn it's a nice shooter. Fire breather too.
that is SO insanely sick11
I had a Zastava by 556 long version ak. It was really accurate, but it was also heavy and I didn't like the AR mags even though it was handy.
Am I the only one that wants rob to do a 5k test on the new galil rifles/pistols that out
