When you were sitting in the chair towards the end you reminded me of the Buddha :-) I totally agree that when you have a dedicated space for a task you are more apt to do it. The nook looks quite lovely, and I am very jealous.
nice job tuning your environment. when i was a wee lad/y, i was a very utilitarian person and i didn't much care for aesthetics. eventually i realized that we spend like 99% of our waking time with our eyes open, and there's no harm, and much gain, in making having our eyes open a pleasant experience. thus began my journey to making things look nice.
Hmm that idea of having a space to do specific stuff is something I'm into as well - I how have 2 desk spaces (joined) one for digital stuff and one for analog stuff (Journal and notebook writing / sketching) also another great word for "Book hoard" is Tsundoku (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsundoku) This is my current favorite Japanese word! Nowww.... if I only had room I could make a reading nook as well, hmmmm ! Thanks for the inspo!

What a good chair
I resonate very strongly with the "messy, not dirty" lifestyle
