And if I understand correctly, he didn’t pick up guitar until later in life. He was a fiddler. Although he was a musician, I think he played other instruments as well. Would you write? He should learn how to play that fender
@@Ryan-mq2miDon Rich was playing guitar well before playing with Buck. There are pictures on the Don Rich Facebook page of him playing a Fender Stratocaster when he was around 16 or 17. Don was/is my favorite electric guitar player. And there are also some clips here on RUclips of two 45 rpm singles Don recorded back in the late 50's and he is playing guitar on one of them. Don was a big part of the Buck Owens sound.
Doggone it, Don Rich was a great guitar player and sideman. He doesn't get enough credit IMO. Makes that Telecaster twang with a heart!!! Thanks for posting this.
I met Buck Owens back in the 60's at a concert in Los Angeles. He was a warm and kind and I was actually able to have a conversation with him even though there were a lot of people around.
I remember this song from when i was a little girl my dad used to call my mom LOVES and one day my mom never came back from her condition and she was admitted into a mental hospital when i was 4 she doesnt know who we are but my dad would listen to this song with sadness like it was written just for him - and that maybe his loves would come back but she never did =( thanks to buck owens for recording this song!!! It gave us enough hope to get through the hard times.
Such an incredible harmony singer. What a voice. Almost overshadows the guitar genius. I think he just got a kick out of how great he was....the goofy grin.
Oh Buck and Dangerous Don Rich. I first heard them on the Live at Carnegie Hall album and was forever hooked. Whenever I'm having a bad day I simply put on some of Buck's music and it brings a smile to my face every time. The harmonies and Don's guitar are what country music should sound like.
When Don Rich died in a motorcycle crash in July of 1974...Buck Owens would say.." I LOST MY RIGHT ARM"..Buck was devastated..he had a nervous breakdown and never really got over the death of Don Rich...When the history of "GREAT HARMONY" is written...you have to include these two...It was magic..
Love's Gonna Live Here" is a 1963 single by Buck Owens, who also wrote the song. The single would be Buck Owens' second number one on the country charts spending sixteen weeks at the top spot and a total of thirty weeks on the chart.
Buck, Don and the Buckaroos are the reason I appreciate Country Music. The Bakersfield sound rules!! Thank's for the memories and good times. Bless you all fans of Country Music.
What great talent. And you can tell they had a great time & loved what they were doing. It wasn't work, it was all play. We should all have jobs we love this much ! Long live Buck & Don.
Don Rich was Buck's best friend and trusted companion. After Don died when his motorcycle hit that guard rail on highway 99, even old Buck admitted that he lost his spark for playin' after Don passed... Here's to Don and Buck playin' together again in the sweet hereafter... Descansa en paz buen amigos!
My Dad and Buck had a radio and television show in Tacoma Washington for a while until Buck decided to move to Bakersville California. Dad stayed behind here in Seattle and we helped form the Folklife festival with music from all over the world Dad and Buck remained friends.
God bless Don and Buck. Got to see Buck at the Crystal Palace in '01 for $6.50. What an amazing deal. I'll never forget it. I was so lucky to be in Bakersfield that Saturday night.. He was great too. He did "Tiger By The Tail" and nailed Don's Solo. Also played "Fast As You" which he called aout the band as "That Dwight song". I'll alway feel lucky I was there that night. Makes me want to pick up one of my Tele's just thinking about it.
Haha just noticed Bucks tie when he was singing Love's Gonna LIve Here. Wow wish they were still young and were still playing though. Love their music.
Wow, love to see a Don Rich solo live. I don't think Buck ever recovered fully from his loss. He made those 2 Warner Bros records that were pretty good, but this is magic.
Brenda Bennet to think I once despised country when I wanted to rock n roll now Im back where I started from and missing country or what it used to be that is
Great admirers of great music, the both of em. The Beatles did start out as the quarry men which was a skiffle band. Anywho, you can't have todays stuff without yesterday's and theres always a yesterday from which to draw upon. YaY!
Don's wife was one lucky woman!! I've just discovered who he is about a week ago, and he's just so magnetic, charismatic, magical and everything you can think of. Like Betty Boop said in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit", "WHAT A LUCKY GIRL!!!"
There's still a few of us Country folks around. We haven't all been "Urbanized" yet! And as long as I'm around there still be at least one guy out there playin&singing this type of Country music!
NO, THANK YOU! you speak the truth and all that other crap is not country. Thanks for standing up for real country, and don't forget to support artists that are trying to bring it back... Dale Watson, Lucky Tubb, Wayne Hancock, Deke Dickerson, etc are all great artists you should check out when you find time.
Not sure about this early Tele but his famous sparkle Tele was at Songbirds Guitar Museum in Chattanooga up until this past weekend (sadly Songbirds has closed). So it's back in the hands of a private collector now. There's some RUclips vids of Junior Brown, John 5 and Tommy Emmanuel playing it out there. Here's Tommy's vid: ruclips.net/video/0JS-Xg0KdW0/видео.html
I am all-for seeing Don Rich in the Hall of Fame. What can we do about this ?
I just discovered this band and I'm loving it. coming from a 23 year old this is better than anything they play on modern country radio.
Right on I’m currently 23 too, ol’ Buck is one of my main musical influences!
☆☆☆☆☆ Don Rich is one of the best players of country. Very underated.
And if I understand correctly, he didn’t pick up guitar until later in life. He was a fiddler. Although he was a musician, I think he played other instruments as well. Would you write? He should learn how to play that fender
You can’t be serious

Not underrated at all. He was and still is revered around the world.

I miss country music like this. There needs to be a radio station that just plays true classic country... Not the rock crap we have today...
XM/Sirius radio has this old country.
I met Buck Owens back in the 60's at a concert in Los Angeles. He was a warm and kind and I was actually able to have a conversation with him even though there were a lot of people around.
Buck Owen’s and his Buckaroos are the best of what country music offers. I play a mix of their music darn near everyday.
How any person could not love this sound, is unbelieveable!
17 people are tone deaf.
Gary M That count is now up to 19
59 now who need hearing aids.
Don and Buck - what a duo! Those guitars and voices go great together.
Everly brothers
Don Rich was a "BEAST" on that tele'.... Rest in peace Don, and Buck. Those days will never be again.

Great performance-special props to Doyle Holly for that great bass line.
HELLO HELLO, U CANT BEAT THIS OLD SINGING. MMMMM, NEXT TO MY HEART. I'M JUST SO DARN CRAZY ABOUT THESE OLDIES. WOWWW, BACK IN MY TIME BABE...
Best country band ive ever heard in my life, the Buckaroos
i don't know about you guys, but seeing those two together brings a smile to my face.
Great Buck and band performance. The Don Rich lead guitar is spectacular! Thanks for posting.
I don't even listen to country music, I'm 15 and this is better than everything on pop radio today.
I'm into rock and roll besides this.
Don Rich one of my favorite lead guitar players, just listen to him hammering away folks, he sounds like a big rig chugging on an interstate.
A #1 hit for Buck Owens on the Country & Western charts. It was his 2nd #1 C&W hit and the 70th #1 C&W song in the Rock Era.
Buck, Don and the Buckaroos are the reason I appreciate Country Music. The Bakersfield sound rules!! Thank's for the memories and good times. Bless you all fans of Country Music.
THANKs. Love the good old days of COUNTRY MUSIC.THANKs i enjoyed
I lived in Bakersfield from 77-93 I grew up there. I saw Buck Owens quite a few times. I love his music. Buck was a very nice guy.
Buck Owens was my favorite male country singer.
What great talent. And you can tell they had a great time & loved what they were doing. It wasn't work, it was all play. We should all have jobs we love this much ! Long live Buck & Don.

Great, great American music. Thanks very much.
great tune......how can you not like two good ole boys like this who can play their butts off and have a great sense of timing. Good stuff.
Long live the country sounds of Buck and his band.
I'm die-hard Buckaholic, but I've never seen him on anything but Hee Haw. Thanks for the awesome clip! I love Don Rich's playing and singing too!
Buck, it's been almost five years since you left us, and the world's just not the same without you. RIP to you and to Don. Damn, I miss your presence.
Don had such a great spirit. He exudes joy.
What an amazing combination.Don Rich's could never be replaced. What a sad loss....
Damn! Together again. When I get to heaven I gonna see them play every night. RIP.
Never saw Buck playing a 12 string guitar before. I'd like to hear more of it!

Everything about this is fantastic. The harmonies, Don’s excellent playing, and the amazing vibe these guys give off.

Don Rich: The Master of The Telecaster!
My Dad and Buck had a radio and television show in Tacoma Washington for a while until Buck decided to move to Bakersville California. Dad stayed behind here in Seattle and we helped form the Folklife festival with music from all over the world Dad and Buck remained friends.
This was my wife and my favorite song when we first got married
Oh yeah 60's classic country at its best!
I was raised on Buck Owens!
Great song. Just discovering Owens and must say I love it. Terrific supporting vocals from Don Rich. Not an easy feat. Great job by both.
Nothing beats classic twang.

I love this type of country music.....seems like the so called country of today sounds so.....commercial and mainstream.
Don always looked so cool playing the guitar, talent-wise he was a pioneer.
Man I miss those guys.
Thank you blu65gibson for sending me this
ole Buck Owens classic*****
Haha just noticed Bucks tie when he was singing Love's Gonna LIve Here. Wow wish they were still young and were still playing though. Love their music.

WOW!! Thanks so much for the video!!! I love the Bakersfield sound!
Country music cant get any better than this!
i love this old song
Genuine pure country music. Not at all like the CMINO, Country Music In Name Only, of today.
Sure do miss them

More should be done to Honor Buck & Don's Memory. They are the TRUE AMERICAN STORY!
talk bout a famous Telecaster...
I wonder who has it...
What's that sticker on the horn of that tele? Is that the gold sparkle? Or the silver?

@@peanutavalon I think I remember reading about marty stuart having it, he has preserved a ton of country music memorabilia.
Marty Stuart has possession of that famous telecaster, owned and played by the incomparable Don Rich.
God Bless Buck and Don!!
