I'm not even remotely considering going into the K-pop industry, but I really appreciate your straightforward answers and reality check mindset. Those who are asking these questions may not have people in their life who may guide them in that way, so your perspective is valuable. 👏🏽
It's good to remember that the people asking these questions are probably 16 and under. Stupid questions are, sadly, to be expected. Although, to be fair, these days stupidly doesn't seem to be age restricted.😭
The mini lecture in the beginning is so INTJ of you, and so relatable 😭😅 Also I’m currently practicing to audition; I’m confident in singing, not in dancing. I could rap if they asked me to😅 but the only thing holding me back is my age (19)…
This video is both venting and informative, and i couldnt help watching all of it with a smile to the growing sincere frustration of these questions being asked haha thank you for this!
@GinaEverywhere honestly I'm glad you did, especially in the tone you did it in. I'm in consulting myself so I related to the emotion even though my industry is different haha
It's been years since I first heard your story. It caught my attention at the time because I was seeing so many bad things happening in the industry, particularly with many artists being locked down for years in the proverbial KPOP Dungeon by contracts, without opportunities to perform or promote. (Specifically the Secret members having to sue their way out from under TS Entertainment.) I just don't recall you ever being in a girl group situation, as you always seemed to want to be a soloist. So, not an audition question, but I'd love to hear more about your experience in a group.
i think that the vocabulary used was appropriate to the context of your video lol cheers to your candidness and straightforward approach to offering information, that you are really under no obligation to provide.
I know how annoying some questions can be, but I would like to suggest that those questions probably shouldn't be described as 'stupid' but rather naïve or ignorant. They are probably very young kids - we ALL asked silly questions due to our lack of experience regardless of our age. By the way, I'm very impressed with your pursuing law school - that is a great goal and I admire your tenacity.
Thank you! and while naïveté-rather-than-stupid applies to many if not most situations, I do believe that taking a second to apply common sense and manners prevents a lot of questions that are better not asked, especially since the entertainment industry isn’t that forgiving even for young people. But I much rather people annoy me than people who can actually have impact on their careers😂
There is no mean in our everywhere girl - Mater of fact, straight to the point - has she ever been any other way = NO It was good to see you on the video again Thanks for sharing your wisdom XOXO
Had to smile at comments re meaness! (Fe’s????) This definitely was a “No holds Barred” video for aspiring entertainers & an “effective opening” for important issues you raise! I enjoyed listening to your insights on “life as a process” & how being prepared, not being discouraged, being persistent, etc are all experiences that contribute to “being the best version of yourself”, and that if you are to be successful, than these “life lessons” are essential!!!! Last but not least, I saw a comment describing you as “tenacious” & I certainly agree with that assessment!!!! As I said before, you’re a great “role model”, intelligent, resilient, focused, and tough…..I like that, you’re a “Survivor”. Leaving you w/one of my favorite quotes: “Tolerance of Uncertainty, is the price you pay for an extraordinary life!” Stay alert, stay alive, stay focused, and take care!!!!! L
you never made the fifty/fifty video! I was looking forward to your industry and law school expertise, But i understand you have more important things to do. Being a law student and such! Glad to see youre still candid as ever. (Side note, your australian accent came back at the very beginning of the video)
OOH I know- I kind of lost interest in the matter; it got resolved (or is getting resolved) the way I thought and hoped it would be. Thank you for remembering tho (and noting the Aussie accent too XD for some reason I find it endearing when people point out where my Aussie accents make an appearance in my videos lol)
If your standards are significantly higher than what the average company often selects from, what are the major differences between your standards and those of companies? Is it because your measure of a person’s ability is more dependent on their raw skill and merit and not based on visuals and outside factors?
I can't really speak for the labels but if I could speculate the changed method of producing kpop singers plays a big role... I think visuals and other factors in addition to talent also is part of the artist's abilities, but yeah like you said I focus on individual talent while companies nowadays tend to focus a lot less on it, since we've sadly come to rely much more on the production capabilities. I totally understand the business side of it but I much preferred when raw talent played a big role in the industry.
I was practicing since i was 16. And now when I'm 18 years old,i lose my hope with maybe 50 online audition, i think that because of my visuals maybe? I don't look like asian or i don't know. Now I'm in a deep depression because of my big dream
Many family connections in kpop. Are Gina and Danielle from New Jeans related? Like a cousin or young auntie. Similar visuals and the mannerisms are almost identical.
Question say you compose your own music for a k-pop audition by volino may you back date it if in the past you were able to obtain the rights of song? If they where to take credit for let’s say your own work. Say a duet- a piano , violin but with someone singing . How would you develop a case in regards to our work.? Also lets say penguin publishing house obtained rights to the music but how would you process the music you wrote , composed and loved say for a daughter or if it was someone father whom had written it for their daughter or future wife. Example lets say i wrote a music piece you found out and was like what the hell its terrible but you actually wrote it cause you were being nice.
Lol these could be copyright law exam prompts! I am not kidding when I say it depends- so many variables can make the answers to above situations very different.
Hello, my name is Alex Moon, and I am Korean-American (25). My dream is to be a solo ballad Artist. I've sent vocal auditions to JYP, SM entertainment, Antenna to name a few. I love to sing ballads. What advice or recommendations would you give me in regards to rejections? Thank you very much, I look forward to hearing your response
I also loved how analytical you are (logical). being in the kpop industry prepped you so well for the corporate industry
💕

Love your candidness and give them reality checks girl! 💞
Thank you💕

LOL I know, but I was 12 when I started auditioning and... oh well. There are also many parents who ask these questions too...🙄
Most 16 year old nowadays act 26. I bet people who asked stupid questions are the older people 🌚
@@c.h.u.nleung813that’s not how that works, they’re still kids. Underdeveloped brains will always be underdeveloped, no matter how mature they act 😅
So glad you got to sing for Yuna Kim and her lovely response 🥰 Definitely a boss response to that judge 💪
I know she was everything❤

😅😅😅 thanks and your age DOES NOT hold you back! go for it :)
i am soo addicted to ur sound😍... and u are right people just ask which label to chose rather than giving importance to what they're really good at.
This video is both venting and informative, and i couldnt help watching all of it with a smile to the growing sincere frustration of these questions being asked haha thank you for this!
I'm glad you enjoyed it😂😂😂I hesitated about making this video for the longest time

Ok so… Replay ✍️ audition ✍️ song ✍️ until ✍️ phone ✍️ catches ✍️ fire ✍️ got it!
😂😂😂 that's right!
Gina!! You once saidn, you will me making videos on basic of how to dance and what to keep in mind and small tricks. Could you make that?
Thank you for remembering! I think I’ll make that video next month in nyc :)

I’m touched that you remember the details of my story🥰 I was once in a girl group and it’s definitely different compared to a solo act🙃

@@GinaEverywhere I would agree, that the question about you representing someone that you don't know is pretty stupid, hahahaha!

OMG your English has improved so much !! you have always been good but its now Super excellent !! OMG !! And you are scary ....
Ooh thanks and yes… but only in professional capacities (I hope🙄💕)
You could’ve said, “which version of me do you like better?” with a smile ☺️
I might have if it were someone else XD but with him, that sadly would have opened a door to so many nasty comments 🥲
@@GinaEverywhere I thought of that. So proud of you for knowing your worth and not giving it away to anyone.
@@G..G.. thank you for the sweet and sincere comment xx
I have a video idea: we can send in videos of our audition and you can give us feedback on what we should do to get better!

Hey mam why don't u make a playlist for singers...I mean start from basic singing fundamental
That’s an idea💡 thank you I might! :)
I want to audition for YG, I heard that they don't care about looks but will they accept me if I have Bad Teeth?
They just need to do a William Hung type of audition.😂
Now I have to go back to that video… gotta watch that clip every once in a while😂
hi dear thanks for wonderful information. I wonder is kpop a good place for girls to go in or it is bad??
There’s good and there’s bad, just like any other place
@@GinaEverywhere thank you so much for telling unnie ☺️

Next May! I think I will be in NYC

Please don't take it to heart... or cry... but bad habits die hard. Still got that pesky upspeak haunting you at a few places. 😂
