@@DarksideDevelopments hi just reading your interesting posts and your tunes .. i have a question , i have 2 x tdi 4.2 v8 in my boat and the stbd engine has these little annoying (comms faults) where engine wont start , it has 2 fault codes P 1907 & P 1570 .....usually i can get the engine to start again by turning off power to batteries & turning it all back on again usually it will right itself until the next time it fails to start .... i know when its done its little not going to start thing by flashing ... service in the dash display ........ if this has done this from the start could it well be a crook ECU or a canbus comms error ... beats me i tell ya
Just shows that its easy to change the map but very difficult to get it right ! That tune that was on there was utter shyte - well you knew that from the test - you can see from the graphs the difference - great work ! That Audi would be a lot nicer to drive now ! Can't wait to see the upgrades !!
awesome vid as usual guys , just one thing to note and i don't know whether its just me but the audio is all over the place ( on speakers anyway ) im finiding myself forever turning it up and down depending on the external noise !... either way great job guys

Seems a lot of bedroom Motorsport have appeared offering cheap maps at a few hundred ponies and all seem to be using the same flash tools. Can a generic map be as bad as a tuning box? Cool video, following this. It seems facelift car so it is the 250kw ccfc(a) engine with CP4 pump and edc17cp44? Older BTR has CP3S3L110 and EDC16cp34 ecu. I have built 3x 4.2tdi between 500 and 600hp now with the latest one installed in Cayenne and i would suggest not to go too big with the turbos. Even the large CP3S3L110 will fall to its face once you go over 500hp @ 2000bar+ rail pressure. My cp4L75 was maxed out with 400hp tune if i remember correct. If you need any second idea building this, let me know.

Please cover in the this car tuning video your findings with pump/fueling. Non of my over 500hp 4.2tdi could hold rail pressure, even with 2x larger MeUn fully open after 3500rpm. I used 2260 from v12tdi and without smoky tune i find them a bit laggy on 4.2tdi, even with vnt maps calibrated as good as possible based on backpressure. 1 bar at 2000bar and full boost only at 3000rpm with 3rd gear fixed pull.
We ordered new units. Will check actuators when we check flow settings on the turbos. Full boost should be below 2500rpm if we can get the desired control!

Without sounding like a hater, the Q7 is ugly as sin, sorry 🤦🏻♂️ it doesn’t look like an SUV it just looks like a big A3, like they just made their hatchback bigger instead of designing a dedicated SUV. Good video though Ryan, was it one of the national mobile tuners by any chance? Always quoting way more than feasible with their driveway pipe dreams 🤣
I am very sorry, but doing such a tuning today, without visually inspecting the dpf before and knowing and telling the people about the max flows the factory installed injectors are made for seems not to be too serious?
You weren't paying attention. The engine will come out, get new turbos and injectors, before being tuned in earnest. This tuning exercise was just to set a baseline for general engine health, which appears good enough to support the bigger turbos & tune. The factory injectors seem just fine too as you can see from the result.
Got my daily dose of "right then!"... can't wait to see more of this build!

You can cause much more damage with a crap tune but bigger gains than a tuning box are very simple!
I had a q7 4.2 tdi remapped to 420 bop ,I thought it was pokey until I got my VW R 50 Touareg remapped to 450 bhp and 900 nm, torque what a car

Compared to my 77k mile 09 4.2tdi Q7 it sounded rough , rattled a lot and smokey , how many miles had it done ?
It's done a lot, 100k+, no DPFs and a dodgy injector

The DPFs were not there anyway but you don't need to take them out to check!! Injector flow, you won't know until you try!
