- A University of Arkansas employee was arrested in July over allegations of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old boy. Stephanie Neipling originally denied the crime, then later admitted to having sex with the boy and sending him nude photos. @IanSolano Not really. There are cases with men getting probation as well. It's unfortunately not uncommon for predators to get probation when they plead guilty. Sometimes even deferred adjudication. Google it.

This is insane. We've all watched men get 3-7 years in prison for showing up to a decoy house.... this nut actually commited the offense.

This is why these kind of things keep happening. The "punishments" are an absolute joke and they know it.
My cousin was 17 and dated a 15 year old. When she turned 16 he turned 18 months later and her mom pressed charges against him.
It was his first offense and he had no criminal history. HE GOT 10 YEARS IN PRISION AND HAD TO SERVE 6 YEARS.
She was the one who pursued him and she even told her mom she didn't want her to press charges against him that they would just break up and go their separate ways. So it was consensual, but the law is the law and he got screwed by it having to sit behind bars for 6 years for being 2 years older than the girl he was dating.

That's not why it keeps happening. If punishment was an actual deterrent, we would live in a crime free society.
Luckily, for the past 20+ years, the US court system has begun to take all these types of cases seriously and not go easy on the perpetrator based on gender.
But, just like that cop who slept with a 16 year old girl a few years ago, he only got probation and life long registry too.

6 years of probation means the judge and or prosecutor should be arrested and put in jail. That is disgusting. Below 18 is illegal and a serious crime regardless if it is a man or a women. She needs the same punishment as if it was a man molesting a 15 year old girl. There is no difference at all. Hurting a child is beyond disgusting.

They most likely plead not guilty and are later convicted after having a trial. In her case she plead guilty and was not convicted because she skipped trial. It's not right, but that's the justice system.

I can't be the only who has noticed the insane explosion in adult female on male adolescent cases? There was always the teacher with student here and there, but it's gone up like 500% this year, at least reporting has..
It’s similar to the way people think crime is so much worse now than in the 80s, it’s just reported on constantly, making it feel more prevalent.

This is crazy. She gets 6 years probation and a dude I knew got 6 years in jail because he went to a 21+ club and a 17 year old girl with a fake ID got past security and went home with the dude and she called the cops on him after her parents found out where she actually went the cops got involved 8 days later. It’s crazy how the system works. Men go to jail for first offenses and woman get probation or let off with a warning.
in my state that's called grape by deception and an adult who reasonably believe the minor is an adult, has a defense
there is no minimum age of criminal responsibility, so even a minor cannot obtain intercourse with force or fraud, it does not matter the age of the person they lie to
adult impersonation is a crime, ability to consent is not an element of grape, 26 states have adopted these laws but often lawyer will refuse to argue them for men

Lost my virginity to an older lady at 15 . Never told my parents so not sure how they would have reacted . I had left school and was working for a living so they had stopped treating me as a child plus it was only a couple of months before i reached the age of consent so they probably would not really have been bothered

Once i left school and started making my way in the world they could see i was capable of making decisions for myself and i would have to face the consequences of any bad ones i made . I knew if i screwed up i was on my own and they were not going to save me . Treated mine the same and like me none of them have ever been involved in anything illegal or unsavoury .
