A problem is that women's groups aren't likely acknowledging this unfortunately. Women need to be taught not to sexually assault people just like men are.
While these things always happened, I think it's getting more common today because of the poor (legal age) romantic relationship lives many modern women have and the fact that many modern women are also more sexually promiscuous. In the past, more women were happily married and sexuality was more regulated. Most of these offenders are either dissatisfied in a boring marriage or are just shameless thots.
Thank feminism for making it this way. Thank women who silently think ill but say nothing while working and studying around this and even joining in on it when they should know better. Now we had a psychology teacher who married a previous student he had but she was in college when they did get together. They have 2 kids and they are the sweetest from when I remember them. I met her in 2014 my senior year around Halloween because she brought the kids in their costumes before they went. They maybe had a 10 or less yr age gap.
This is the most interesting story among these cases. When we pretend like this doesn't happen it really skews the whole thing all together. Whether you think it's wrong or right these situations for better or worse need to be more closely examined and accepted in terms of the fact that it does in fact happen. If we ignore these things or only go out of our way to condemn them, we're doing our own species and future generations worse than they deserve.

Yeah I agree, the biggest issue with this is people just jump into camps full of ignorance and prejudice and it just doesn't help anyone. We can't objectively contemplate or handle something if we only pretend to see half of the story. We can't flesh this out and study it and figure out the best path forward either if we scare everyone and anyone who might have insight on this simply because they're in fear of being persecuted for being open and honest. If we don't recognize some degree of why this is so common or dare I say, "normal" then it's no different than how previous generations of humans failed in their time to address this properly. Ultimately resulting in this still being a regular thing we see more and more on the media each and every day.

Now they go to the authorities with videos and there’s no way to deny what’s happening.
I would say that our current climate is empowering young students to come out and talk about their abuse. Whereas 10 or 20 years ago, students would feel more embarrassed, or be less inclined to talk. I do believe this has always been happening, we just didn’t know.

There was one female teacher in a school that I taught in that was known to have teenage boyfriends. She was an English teacher and the leader of the Bible Study! I don't know why our district didn't do something about her, but her husband was a vice-principal in one of the schools and that might be why. She divorced her husband and married one boy from her Bible study after he graduated. (She was in her late 30's at the time.) That marriage, of course, didn't last for long. She was back to her old ways after that and was seen kissing a young man after school one day by another teacher. She stayed in that school all the way until she retired! I could not believe they never did anything about her even after one young man's parents came up to school and had a screaming fit over her relationship with their son. She was obviously a sick, sick woman, but the students all loved her and called her their "favorite teacher." I called her a peodophile. BTW, there were many male teacher/female student incidents over the 28 years that I taught in my schools. I didn't see a lot of female teacher/male student cases. I really don't understand them. I never looked at students sexually!
Even if the student is at the age of consent (16-18 depending on state) it is still illegal for someone in a position of authority to have a physical relationship with a student.

I do think there’s some internet radicalization going on on both sides.

Most ppl seem to forget the Van Halen song”Hot for Teacher”…the fantasy has always been there, for both sexes… BUT this is a situation where the adult has to be level headed and know the difference between right and wrong. To have someone flirt with you might be flattering to some but that’s when you nip that in the bud by making sure it is known to be inappropriate. These teachers don’t seem to get it. You mention Mary Kay, what about Pammy Smart?

Yeah, he is. Chris has had some issues in the past... He's more rough around the edges than he appears imo. But I think he mostly means well with the work he does. I feel like the man probably has some past trauma he's never revealed to the world.
This has always happened, I think it’s just being reported now and it’s also a lot easier to have hard evidence due to text messages and photos on cell phones.
Back in the day, a parent could report a teacher to the school and the police and it would be swept under the rug.
