- If I could only have 1 credit card in my wallet, it would be a tough choice because there’s so many great cards out there. I would never be forced to choose just one, but if I wanted to drastically lower my annual fees, I wanted to find a card that fits my needs the best. The American Express Platinum, Chase Sapphire Reserve, Capital One Venture X, among many others, are all top tier cards, but which one would I prefer?

US Bank Altitude Reserve. For me this is pretty much 3x card for 85% of transactions and 4.5X on travel. In my opinion nothing touches this card.
It was tough saying no to the Altitude Reserve. It was a little bit easier for me to choose a different card because I don't have a US Bank card right now, but it's amazing that it's essentially a 4.5x card
Agreed. This card conveniently racks up points. The priority pass includes restaurant access, which works for me since my airport does not have lounge options. The other cards noted dont have restaurants anymore. Really, the 8 passes is fine because, even in retirement, I typically only do two or three trips a year.
interesting video
Thanks! I feel like I’m now prepared in case I need to get rid of a lot of my annual fees
If she can’t watch, Disney Plus, it will hurt you ALOT 😂😂😂
Good point about not being able to cash out the points as cash, which I think is why I also like the Schwab etc, and it’s come into play a little more recently.
I think the VX for sure makes sense for a lot of people, I would like to see where people transfer their anniversary miles and how much added value they get with that etc. So maybe $100, but could be $400 when transferred etc, would be interesting!
Thanks Jacob, fun video!
Haha maybe I'll have to keep Disney+ if the Amex Platinum has to go. The Schwab seems like a really great option just in case you need those points as cash back.
For me, it would be a toss up between the Amex Platinum and the Hilton Aspire. Appreciate you Jacob
The Hilton Aspire is a good one. If you tend to visit Hilton resort properties twice or more every year, the Aspire can make a lot of sense
@JacobsPointsAndProfit if you stay at a LXR, Waldorf or Conrad. Depending on the location, one time is enough hahaha. I actually had 42 Hilton stays last year
The $400 airline credit is a great perk, plus 💎 status
Bilt, Citi Premier Strata, CSP and VX are great choices in my opinion.
They're all solid cards! I could see myself having all four of them at some point in the future
CSR or Amex platinum which is best for travel?
It all depends on your situation. I prefer the Amex Platinum, but it wouldn't make sense for someone who doesn't travel a lot and use most of the credits
I really would have a hard time choosing between the VX or the Platinum. I really do come out on top with the Platinum but the VX does give you double the points…
God willing I’m never in that situation 😅
The Platinum is great, but the VX is more simple and easier to justify. The 2x points on all purchases would be huge if you could only spend on one card the rest of your life
Citi premier / Amex gold
I'll be interested to check out the new Citi Strata Premier card when it's available. It seems like it'll be a pretty good card!
I’ll save you ten minutes…it’s Capital One Venture X
SPOILER ALERT lol
Chase Aeroplan
$95 AF
3x global dining
3x global groceries
$0 FTF
Aeroplan pts are really valuable
so underrated
I really want the Aeroplan card at some point. I've only heard positive things about it and I've used Aeroplan for my last 3 international business class redemptions. I could see myself applying before the end of the year if I don't see any other cards I want
