The pilot was multiple saved. First by the passenger and the controller team, then by the ambulance team, then the surgeon and nurses team. And above them all by god.
Wow, survival after an aortic dissection is more unlikely than surviving a novice non-pilot landing of an aircraft. An amazingly unlikely outcome from both unexpected events.
I had a ruptured splenic artery aneurysm when I was 36 weeks pregnant and by a series of steps I barely lived and our son lived. We were the 14th known mother and baby as of 2001 to have survived together. If anything in my day had been different we would have died.
Wouldn't it be great if this pilot could be the flight instructor ? I can't imagine anyone better since Ken and Darren already have such a bond from this incredible experience.
My grandpa had an aortic tear in 1998 in Poland. The doctors said the chances of surviving the operation were 10-20% at the time and decided not to operate. My grandpa died after one week in the hospital. And I feel let down by the doctors for not telling us he will definitely die without operating. Thats how I became the man of the house at 15. Wasn't ready for it, only lost my dad at 12, three years earlier. And my shoutout goes out to all the kids, people, who grew up without parents, who lost dear ones before they managed to get to know and appreciate them. And for everybody who grew up an only child, with one parent who had too much work to have enough time for anything. Also for all the single parents. Shout out to you, make sure you get a partner for your child to look up to. Make a family again. ❤ Love.
This has litetally given me goosebumps on my goosebumps !! Wow !! God's angels were with all three of them. What an amazing thi g tohappen and espe ially that tge pilot has made such a good recovery .I guess a 3 way longterm friendship will grow from this experience . Flying a loane with no previous experience ... facing all of those dial-things in the cockpit ?? Just WOW !!!
I stopped flying with my dad when i was 19 years old. I just finally put my foot down & said "no"! He lived 41 more years but he was overweight with high b.p & there was no way that i was going to fly any of his airplanes!
Forget about the doctor, where is the real hero that landed your plane for you and truly saved your life? Let’s not forget sir! The doctor came after him. Please celebrate your true hero.
I have heard the radio account of this flight and it’s truly miraculous. What a hero. As for the Today host…she is the worst example of journalism- biased and only represents a single perspective. These days you CANNOT trust journalists. It’s been literally years since I watched legacy media.
So lucky to be alive. So very lucky. He suffered a deadly diagnosis. How? Who was his guardian angel? We know who his hero is in Darren but who was his angel? Side note: The pilot and the hero passenger are handsome men. Very attractive men. What a great duo for life!
I've seen several videos of this amazing story and it's definitely heartwarming but I still would like to know how this guy performed in the fishing tournament at the Bahamas. If he can do this without any experience he probably did very well
I would have liked to hear more about how the guy was able to fly and land that plane! The Dr. is great for getting him well, but he went to school for that.
Amazing story. But who was in the co pilot seat when Darren was just lounging? And why did that person just hand off the controls to a complete novice?
Apparently the person in the co pilot seat was a friend of the pilot, not a pilot himself. He also didn't have any flying experience, he was another passenger. Darren jumped to take charge and was keeping a level head, so it made sense to defer to him. He was apparently a big help though, it wasn't like he was curled up in the back crying or anything. There was only one working headset though, so while Darren was able to listen to instructions from air traffic control, the other guy couldn't hear the instructions to assist effectively.
I came here to say this as well! He is the real guy that saved the pilots life. The doctor came after him. The pilot wouldn’t died if this guy couldn’t have landed the plane or wasn’t on that plane w/ him. He is a true hero.
This is the doing of the Lord, and it's marvellous in our sight. Darren's unwavering faith and trust in God brought everyone into safety. I was wondering what the other guy was doing the whole time, this was happening as there's no mention of him afterwards. Could have been an angel 😇
wow what a great story so many things went right as he said. without landing at that airport he probably wouldn’t have made it! This is the same condition John Ritter died of aortic dissection!
I'm sorry, I don't think he should return to flying. If he has another incident, he could crash into a residential area? If anything, though, he should not have passengers. I've a friend who stopped driving due to having seizures, but this guy wants to fly a plane. And he goes months, even years, without having a seizure. Don't risk someone else's life.
I have to say this is the best Florida man story ever
😆 That's mean 🤭 I think not even any Man in Florida is a Florida man 😉
100% Love From Germany / Heidelberg
🖤 ❤️ 💛
Finally, a positive Florida man story.
Yes really I know what you mean
The pilot has angels disguised as humans all around him. Incredible story of survival and miracle.
An aortic tear! Wow. No way to know this unless you have a CT scan of the chest and abdomen. And surviving this is a miracle!
Omg! I remember hearing about this! So happy to hear the pilot made a full recovery - he’s so resilient.💛
bravo to all three - courage is their common denominator - a friendship like no other-

GOD. With a CAPITAL G.

It's great to hear such a positive story these days with so much negative news around us.

True
As a 32 year Veteran and pilot many years ago this story brought tears to my eyes.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND YOUR FAMILIES🙏
This story has Florida Man level of craziness but with a good ending ✌️

Wow, that is really a miracle that you survived. Many blessings to you.
Miracle.. God was watching over them that day guiding the plane guiding the hands of the surgeon thank you for sharing
I'm so happy the passenger/ pilot lived and just as happy for the real pilot. If the real pilot had not spoken up............................
The only thing that would have made this reunion better was if Robert Morgan, the air traffic controller, was there too.
I agree
Lovely story🥰
An amazing story.....three smart guys....intelligence takes many forms.
The prayer of the passenger that took over.
How much I love miracles ❤🙏🏼
This was a great story with a wonderful outcome.
My dad had an aortic dissection at 43. He’s had two open heart surgeries since and is still living at 72, tougher than tough
This is a beautiful story.
Blessings
Refreshing to see such a positive story now and then. ☺️ The affection between the men is so cool.
Wow! What a miracle all around
Amazing!
Oh wow! I thought the pilot passed away! Such amazing news! 👏
❤ A true miracle
❤❤❤
God Bless all ....
Somebody get that passenger some flight lessons! Great job and mentality. Congrats to the pilot for doing the hard work to get back in the seat, too.

So many miracles
God is so good! Truly a miracle.
John Ritter and Lucille Ball both died of aortic dissections.
He should become a pilot

At the end of the video….
The guy has experience. Don’t be fooled
And surviving an aórtic tear after such delay… is way more miraculous!
My EXACT thoughts!!!!!

What about the guy with no flying experience, why isnt he hear as well.
keep watching the video

its kind of weird how so many doctors seem to have that last name
Smart people what can I say
It's like Smith. It's a really common name
Florida man powers activated
Dennis Quaid did a movie similar to this recently.

I would not want to fly as his passenger.
It's so scary that planes like this fly over residential and business areas
God made this all happen
I think that I would get my pilots license if I flew in one of those planes as a passenger
There's typo in the year. Should be 2022 ?
Correct--May, 2022. Good catch.
Yes, I saw that typo right away.
I wonder who the other passenger was and why they weren’t in the story?
How were all his medical costs covered?
Like everything other in this case - Pure Miracle! ☺ ☺ ☺
But what about congradulatingbthe guy that landed the plane he needs regonition also
Wait so who was the other guy?
Aloha🌺
thanking the man who landed 🛬 your plane captain
Where is the credit for the man who landed your plane so you could fly again?
Well if the confidence to go up in that plane isn't an advertisement for that doctor's faith in his work idk what is.
i think the reporter fancy's Darren aha!! never the less great job Darren wasn't your day neither the pilots, great outcome
Even Neil Armstrong crashed a plane. Flying isn't easy.
i wouldnt fly if i was him...Wonder how he even got cleared...What if he dies on someone again
The guy had experience . Off the record training. Don’t be fooled… he did not have zero flying experience . He just can’t divulge that!
Why would they lie

Just the useless third passenger
Netflix make movie
Why don't you cover some real news?
He is too old to fly
65? No.
He’s not flying, jumbo jets, and he’s been cleared to fly by six……. Yes six doctors. What more would you like?
I’m 82 and I fly
@@Bob-lh4mg Bob are you really? Prove it Bob.
Why didn’t the other guy in the plane with him, who was a flight instructor, fly the plane? I’m confused about that.
