I listen to this song tonight and memories flood my mind. As a child growing up in a rural part of Kenya, we didn't have food, electricity, money in general. Life was hard, many times than I can count we went hungry but we had a radio we could listen to from morning to morning. We could go gather fruits while carrying that radio and listen to songs like this. I took it for granted then, now I'm lucky enough to remember those memories. My childhood was perfect in its own way. Just look back and remember the beauty of your childhood, whatever it was
It takes me back to 2005 when I was 5 years old , we used to tune in to Radio Zimbabwe 🇿🇼,whenever I listen to this song I start to think about my past and everything that I have been through 😢😢who is with me here in 2022??
it takes me back in 1994 when I was in grade one after loosing my beloved mom 😭😭 in village..my uncle called me in ndola town zambia for a holiday now upon arriving home we found this song being played in the sitting room.. we all fallen into tears in remembrance of my mom😭😭 rip mom🇿🇲

Yvonne Chaka Chaka takes me back in the time that we walk out of our houses following the the beating drums out there where in the background we could hear the rhythm of the song sung in Zulu mixture of English language calling "mama" mama by Yvonne I could remember one day I was absent from school due to sleepless night that covered my memories of my school days
Reminds me of my elder sister. She used to come home from campus with her Panasonic radio. At times the dry cells were dead. We could dry the cells on top of our grass thatched kitchen..just to listen to Yvonne chakachaka. God bless you big sister..you made our life so entertainment
