  • This film came from Catherine Campbell in Alaska, Armijo High School Class of 1949. Her father ran Campbell Printing in Suisun City for many years.(where the theatre is now). She found it in his processions and sent to longtime Fairfield resident and Armijo class of 1949 grad Art Engell when they had their 50th Class reunion in 1999. Art put it on a return reel and it along with a tape from fellow 1949 grad Pat Morita who was unable to attend and it played all night.--Nanciann Gregg, co-founder of the Armijo Alumni Association, Inc.

I'm liking this so much because my father was born and raised in Fairfield, CA. A lot of family lived there. My mother spent one year at Armijo High. This was in 1950. Dad graduated Armijo in 1949. I love the city. I love this music. Thank you for this wonderful video.❤

My Family’s Ranch was/is in Fairfield. All of my siblings were born in Fairfield. I saw my Uncle Vince and Aunt Lorraine Valine in your video. Thank you so much, that was special. I was hoping to see my Mom and Dad but didn’t see them. I loved this whole video, great era.

The University of Alaska at Anchorage, has I machine that copy's damaged films and I believe that this one is also in their collection as a copy. This film helped me decide what to do with some journals I saved from the landfill. (journals were related to Alaska history)

11:30 or so... looks like someone was in the midst of robbing a business. Mask over face, walking in brandishing a pistol... didn't seem to notice the camera man

I think it was staged. I noticed the guy putting on the bandana and carrying the gun too. The scene immediately switched to the police department getting the call, then to the officers going out and apprehending the “robber.”

My family landed in Travis 1957. Moved to one of the new housing tracks in Fairfield eventually. Lovely town I always thought. Orange blossom fragrance. Loved my friends. Back in the day Suisun was section 8. Literally the other side of the tracks. Now they fixed up old Suisun and put section 8 in our old white neighborhoods. Strange racial divide. White supremacy 👿

Suisun was not Section 8! There was the old town where I lived but the other part was the Airmen's town, where all the Travis Air Force families lived ! With 5 kids in our family, the Travis kids were over at our house constantly! We knew nor cared about any differences between us! Black, white, Hawaiian, NO differences! WE all went to school together, formed lifelong bonds and had the best childhoods!
