  • Shot is 1946, this historical footage of the sister-cities of Fairfield and Suisun City captures the people and places of those northern California cities. Included is footage of city officials, movie theater audiences, the local USO club, and a Keystone-Kops-like segment involving a fire engine. Other sequences show the printing of the local newspaper, people involved in a church service, and other local scenes. The 6-minute and 46-second silent clip was scanned from 16mm color print film, shot at 24 fps.

0:37 is my mother Virginia, & her sisters Frances & Enola. 4:45 is my Aunt Catherine. All but Enola are now gone. It was a great look back to Suisun & Fairfield. A time when it was Kind & Gentle.

Now Fairfield and Suisun is a shit hole community. The Solano County Local Government, the police is amoral malicious and evil corruption.
If you currently reside in Solano County and have been wronged by any local government department, a family service organization, non profit, a group home or a law enforcement department file a complaint with the Solano County Civil Grand Jury. The civil grand jury can investigate it.

I was just thinking that also. if you were 16 in 1946, you would be either 91 or 92. The young soldiers, would be even older than that. Pushing 100

It's amazing when I see old people in these videos because they were alive in the 1800s yet they act like people do today as well as the rest of the people in this old video, the 1800s always fascinated me.
Yet these 1940 people are very similar to today's society.

I've interacted with people from the 19th Century (including family members). I don't think they would have been unable to cope with today's version of the world, having transited from the 'horse-and-buggy' era through two major wars, to t.v. and 'The Bomb'.
What is sobering (to me, anyway) is that the overlapping end-to-end lives of some 40 people each living to about (say) 70 would cover 2000 years, a period that would see massive change in all areas, particularly in language. We can look back a century and have little or no trouble 'handling' the language of back then, yet its all changed so drastically in 500 years.
