    Thank you, Cally! You are spot on! All of this particular breath training is exactly the same for singers. Specifically Sweet Adelines/Barbershop singing.
    I know it well.
    The one thing I might add is, when you take that "home" breath in, you need to relax your lower abdomen and actually let the air push out the lower part of the stomach. This is hard for a lot of us. We are taught to "hold your stomach in while standing up straight". This gives a look of being taller and thinner.
    However, taking a good "belly breath" requires that we relax those lower abdominal muscles so the air can be placed in that lower region.
