These two together!? Greatness! They should be mic'd proper damnit!
yeah, you would hope something calling themselves "live talks" would be on top of that
Add Martin Short and you've got a dream trio.
If you're still around, Spade has a talk show now and Dana has made a couple of appearances on it and once again they're so great together.
@@integral Oh yeah. Its great! Thanks
That last story Dana told about Paul was awesome. I root for David hard. Dana is just gold. Church Lady is my all-time favorite skitss
Back in the SNL days i thought Spade was so stuck up. THIS changed my idea of him. Very humble. Dana is awesome like always.
His work with Farley and their friendship took the edge off of his snide demeanor on SNL for me.
Spade is goofed on generally but I think he is under rated. You can tell he is sharp.
He might be a better writer than performer. I don't think he is a bad comic just not a great one.
Always been sharp.
Love David Spade... he’s at his best when he tells stories...👍❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🇨🇦
Oh, I think he is rated.
@@etme1000 He is now. But for a long time he was a lot of the time the subject of jokes. Even Sandler would joke on him often.
Spade's stand-up is actually amazing. I loved him on SNL, but then many years later I saw his stand-up and was like "Holy shit...I had no idea." So I understand what he means when he says character-acting on SNL wasn't really his thing. Killing stand-up is his thing. The "Hollywood Minute" segment on SNL was most suited for his talent because it gave him a monologue format like standup.
great story . Spade is clasic and Carvey..please
Dana’s standup is good, too.
There is something fascinating about watching 2 people who know each so well just bounce off each other so entertaining
Hands down the best thing I have watched on RUclips. These two are amazing. They need to do a movie together.
If they wrote a short run tv show they could definitely get it made at peacock
2 of my ever favorite. Dana is the multitalented but Dave is quite witty.
that was great I could've listened to them tell stories for another hour.

Same here JP.
Dana is such a good friend to David. He really highlights David’s abilities over his own. That’s rare in that industry. ❤️
What a fantastic pairing! Dana is such a funny man and I hope we do see him more often in tv and films soon.
Spade is really talented.
The world needs more Dana Carvey.
I love these two guys. I have seen both of them live - saw Carvey at the Ice House in Pasadena in 95, prepping for an HBO special. Just riffed and tried new material for like 2 hours - crushed it. Saw Spade in Phoenix years ago and then again in Vegas at the Venetian in 2010. Really funny.
David Spade in conversation with Dana Carvey, inside a soda can.
This was so good. Thank you for the upload!
David always makes me happy. Loved at the end, he did my signature jitzu move, too funny. It's the first stance and move of defensive mode. Took me all day to get that down, in my first and last day of class. David Spades a trip and better with age.
I have gained more respect for Spade. He had a rough childhood growing up. Every child wants desperately to love their parents and for them to love them. When you don't get that it is very difficult. Perhaps he turned to comedy to cope. Good for him.
Dana could easily pull off a ‘Church Lady’ movie.
People would flock to it!!
You look very dignified
They should make a villain for her, Woke Lady. Her Dr. Evil.
Everyone is commenting about the terrible sound but I was mostly suffering for David Spade shifting not to feel pain in that uncomfortable chair. He suffers from neck and back problems and half of this talk he was kneeling on the chair. Glad he has comfy armchairs in his Comedy Central show these days. Enjoyed this interview a lot and I’m not a native English speaker so the sound isn’t that bad once you get used to it.
I've always enjoyed David Spade's brand of humor. He was on a sitcom(name I'll come back with), and just as I used to tune n to "Fridays" and "In Living Color" to see Cramer and Carrey, I used to tune in to see Spade's antics. Carvey is also great, I'll have to look up his standup (he may not have any).
Carvey had a couple unlucky career duds in TV and film, but he was like Eddie Murphy-talented on SNL. He still does stand-up. Funniest I've seen him be in recent years were a couple random RUclips interviews, kind of a shame.
On a Spade binge and found this. TAlking w/ another awesome dude.
Loved it! Thanks for posting this.
Poor David with his back and neck problems ......those director chairs are fucking torture even when you don't have problems!
love you both!!! saw Dana and other fine original hilarious people live in Lake Tahoe the 80's Comedy was the new Disco!
not really 80s. 90s
This was just a pleasure to watch. They can't help but be funny. They had great stories to tell. Kept me interested the whole way through.
19:20 David explains how Lorne Michaels is a major D- bag.
That was effin INSANE
Yeah, that was a shitty move on LM's part...
Spade had the choice to quit SNL. He didn't. LM is totally validated for not allowing him.
@@GARY84ROCKS shut up
What a great pairing!
This was awesome, I had never seen this before!
I like David Spade because when he talks, he isn't "on" in an irritating way like Dana can be. He's actually calming for me to listen to. And real funny too. :)
Watching it again. I could watch these 2 for 5 hours. Why isnt this 5 hours?
These guys are so different. I never would have guessed they would have enough chemistry to pull off an hour of sharing the stage but this was really enjoyable. Probably because they barely crossed paths - they weren't really competitors.
This is what growing up in Arizona was like exactly!! Wandering around in the desert 🌵 with a .22 rifle.
As entertaining as any conversation could be. Anyone could find a hook and be enthralled by these two hilarious good hearted guys. Fun for all and relatable. Thx for the hr+ well spent
That was just amazing hearing about their real adventures in the biz n life ! Very Cool.😎
Still watching and laughing. Years later.
I watched snl because these guys were on.
Drue Mcmahon Farley and Meyers
What an epic documentary about two like minded legends!
This is too good. These guys are funny, perceptive and without any bullshit. They both come from the same unpretentious beginnings, and have taught the world to laugh, and look at themselves. Thanks to Dennis Miller for gaffing the pretentious narcissism of the deified Lorne Michaels, who's failing relevancy, and dropping ratings give proof to the fact that arrogance and conceit will always consume itself.
Spade kills with his character in Rules Of Engagement sitcom, he steals every show he’s in
Love! both of you..
I have to say I think David Spade if funnier than Dana Carvey here. I know Dana kills it with his impressions, but David is just hilarious all the time.
I feel that Carvey was cutting Spade a break, drawing him out...and I am glad he did so!...I have a higher regard now, after listening to David's situational humor.
Love you David Spade. Lol 😝
this was so great! two of the greats
two brothers from another mother
Oh so all white people look the same god you racists disgust me
“If you all live it’s not that big of a deal, you know” lol 🤣😂🤦♀️
It’s nice of Spade to shine some light, on less successful former SNL cast members. He seems like a humble guy.
These two guys are hilarious. Shame the audio is so bad. They should have given them microphones that would plug directly into their recording equipment instead of trying to pick up the sound from the theatre's sound system.
I think they went into the soundboard but the eq was off because I think the Hertz were down causing the vibrational reflex to stop the volume from entering the Sound Chamber but I thought that if they make it before they turned up the volume it would have equalized all the tone and volume together so that all the switching would have been done at the motherboard...... Well I pulled that one out of my ass and I am so full of s***that it's scarey
You said it, not me!!
Very cool! Thank you.
David Spade -- there is no substitute. Dana is of course a master.
25:16 hahaha. the savagery of dennis miller.
the insanity of Dennis Fillerchimp
The "Coolness" of Miller🤘
@BrIan CurtiSmith
Miller is 0ne 0f the 0nly Comedians who's actually just as smart as he thinks he is, I'd even go as far as to say ... He's Brilliant! I love that he's a Political Conservative! Maybe, just maybe, this is why you don't get his observations/jokes.€
Spade in a Quentin T movie...yes i could see that.
Spades bit about the Pope pic has me rolling on the floor.
Wow the sound is absolutely horrible. Amazing!
I always thought David Spade was the Dana Carvey of the Bad Boys of SNL.
but in the best way
Two amazing comics. Both are so humble. I don't think either realize what huge icons they are.
thank you. you both are so awesome, couldn't stop laughing!
42:30 Yes! You are correct, sir!
That was beautiful stuff, wasn't it? :-)
Dana Carvey to David Spade "David, fetch me my slippers".
Yeah, this was great.
It's a radio show and the sound sucks. Go figure.
don't be an asshole.
@@dkthg Regardless, the sound SUCKS!
@@ownpetard8379 No, YOU suck Homer! Mr. Burns should've fired you DECADES ago!!!
live sound is notoriously finicky compared to a controlled environment like a broadcast studio
@@varnishyourboard They have microphones. They are on a stage. There is minimal movement. So, what would cause the finicky-nessissity? My theory is that the sound engineer forgot to turn up the levels to 11. The SOUND SUCKS! What is the point of recording the sound if one cannot hear it - unless the target audience are babies whose hearing has not been dulled by LIFE.
Luv David spade. I laugh at everything he says
Spade talks about his struggling early years, but as Dana says, FIVE YEARS is really a quick rise from nobody to SNL. And not mentioned: Spade was somehow dating hot models and actresses from the very start.
Awesome shit...i love old snl stories
Love the visuals! Imagine if this had audio.
So great
Great audio!
I met Clapton when I worked at Wendy's. He wasn't feeling well and his wife who went to a school (Watterson) nearby, ask me to tell people not to bother him, but I made his fries like a boss!!
Here is little ditty about Clapton...in the late 70s, he played a gig here in Seattle, and afterwards was riding in some girl-fan's Honda Civic--she was in an accident, and he was slightly injured...of course, he was married at the time, so I guess the media did not go nationwide on the incident...it did make the back pages of the local Seattle newspapers.
These guys kill me... ALWAYS funny, ALWAYS entertaining !!! :):):)
awesome!
"Talk took place at the Bootleg Theatre" Well that does explain the bad audio.
you both could read the phone book and would crack me up
holy shit that was a fast hour.
That's fucked up about not letting David do the superbowl commercial. I would have been like, "ok... so you're giving me 250K for the next show then right??" Shit, it was worth more than 250K. It was that + what opportunities would have come after that. Damn.. that's messed up.
Shouldn't have asked and just get sued after
That actually was really great. David had a rough start in this, but eventually unfurled. Of course Dana is always great, too.
fantastic watch... very real and hilarious...
The audio sounds like it was recorded with an empty soup can and a string.
Andrew Kamen LOL
I lol at your comment!
Inside an empty soup can.
This vid is Awesome..
I was a big fan of all the snl movies that came out in the 90s and early 00
The only thing bad about this episode was the audio but I can still understand it
I love these two. 😂🤣
To me, Spade is confident and knows Hollywood.
Dana is shy and is afraid of the black hole that is Hollywood.
Hiding your genius is like hiding your Jade under a garment. ~Lao Te Chi
I always liked Dana.. his comedy has always been obvious and in your face funny. David Spade however, has this dry sarcasm and witt about him and his comedy ian't always so obvious. I think it's way funnier when a comedian doesn't look like he's working the audience for laughs. Spade is definitely one of my favorites.
Awesomeness...I'd have loved to have met Nirvana too.
That was awesome !!! These guys are my age and I’ve pretty much followed there careers. I felt like I’ve lived it with them or through them either way I wish it was longer. Good stuff.
Hilariously Sublime!!
They look like brothers, lol.
David’s perspective is exactly how it is in any field when you’re at the top. Imposter syndrome is real.
I've watched SNL since the first season in 75.
Whenever you hear, "Back when SNL was FUNNY' this is the era they mean
Is this the first episode of fly on the wall?
Very entertaining.
What does David say at 33:39 that gets a laugh? (I rewound several times & just can’t seem to get it)
"He'll introduce you."
Talking about Bruce Jenner introducing Dana to Caitlyn
I am on this page to prove to my Asian relative that David Spade and Dana Carver is not the same person ! 😂.
All white ppl look the same
audio ain't great, but it's still aural paradise
this is what i wanna see!
"I have ADD and read Harry Potter and I still didn't know their was a wizard."
they were at the bootleg. ive performed at the bootleg b4. i wish i was there to see spade
very interesting and entertaining! it's a shame about the mic during the first half.
The Bootleg is not in Glendale Ca it’s in Echo park , a great venue for DIY / underground artists
Does anyone know what the emblem on David's hat is? "Turley".
