I had just turned 18 when my mates and i were in a hotel bar in downtown Baton Rouge, Louisiana where there was Rod Stewart slobbering all over some blonde. There was no one else in the bar(we had no idea where you were supposed to go drink legally) and I asked the bartender if that was Rod Stewart. He said “yes” and that he’d been staying there for over a week charging everything to his room. I told them I didn’t think it was and asked what it was worth if I could prove it. He said you and your friends will drink free. I didn’t drink, but my friends were happy. I asked “Rod” if he could answer a question for me and he dickishly said “I suppose” and I asked him who played drums on the first Jeff Beck Group record he was on. This guy’s face changed and he shouted in a southern accent “FUCK YOU MAN” and tried to run for it. Hotel security snapped him up and that was the last I heard about it. You never know when you are going to run into that music nerd out there(oh yeah, the answer was Mick Waller not FUCK YOU MAN!).

Even though it has been more than 20 years since I have heard a David Lee Roth song, I still remember the sound of his voice well enough that the imposter would not be able to fool me if I heard him singing karaoke. I was a pretty big fan of several of his songs and I would sing along with his records over and over and over. The sound of his voice is burned in my memory.

What's weird about the Sixx story is that I remember something odd back in the early/mid eighties. I read a lot of the rock magazines (Circus, etc) and I distinctly remember a couple of shots of Sixx that did not look like him at all. Well, just because someone can write a song does not mean they can then arrange the song in a manner to be a hit. Take the band Rush. Neal Peart wrote most of their songs but it was Lifeson & Lee who arranged them and produced them into masterpieces. True successful song production is typically a team effort...unless your Prince then, well, you can do everything.

Just to think how shocked the audience was and how defensive those two women were after Tom Arnold said they basically begged for $10,000 is really telling. These days so many people on the internet beg for money, it's become common. They beg, get money and spend it on material shit all the while holding their heads up high and rubbing it in the faces of those who question their intentions. If I could only find my time machine...smh.

If you're a true fan of STP, and V.R. fan like me your absolutely know immediately that's not Scott. God I miss him. Ik he wasn't from Seattle but STP are criminally overlooked cuz they called them grunge posers trying to be like pearl jam. I like pearl jam and mother love bone but STP are 1 of those bands that are soundtracks to my early to late teens. Still on my playlist at 41.

@riproar11 that's what they got labeled by rolling stones mag and other media and they weren't completely wrong. (Disclaimer: stp is my favorite band of all time also I'm a singer) The reason they were labeled that was because of weilands singing. He copied Eddie's style, and it's not a style you can copy by accident. You can tell it wasn't natural for him. If you you listen to stp albums in order you'll hear him gradually shifting away from it but he did copy Eddie to begin with

I remember that just after Gangnam Style was a RUclips sensation a fake Psy fooled a number of celebrities and did the party scene at Cannes. It's pretty funny if you Google the picture of all the celebrities having photographs with him and then they all put them online. However, you cannot get away with that sort of thing now as pretty much instantly the real Psy said he was in Korea. I don't know if the fake was still at a Cannes party with A-listers when he was exposed.
He really did look like him. To an old white guy anyway.

We had just seen the band in concert, and he was wearing the same thing sans the scarf , and Freddie was a few folks down the bar. Impersonators were common in South Florida but no one dare do it at the Button South. Too much of a chance the real thing or someone who knew the real thing, was there.

Not really rock 'n roll (but she still might make it into the R&R hall of fame) but my wife and I met "Ariana Grande" in a park in OKC about two years ago while hanging out with my son. She was obviously living on the streets, pushing 60, and close to 200 lbs. She was hiding in Oklahoma because she wanted to get away from the paparazzi. Her body guards were hiding around in the bushes to make sure no one got to her. I acted like I didn't know who she was because, "I don't listen to pop." and just let her talk because she was pretty entertaining and nice. We really don't know if she was trying to scam us, all she got out of us was a sandwich and a soda, which we would have given her anyway. Maybe she just wanted to be important, IDK, but mental health can be scary.
