My favorite jacksfilms content these days is to watch jack make up a quiz (title for the thumbnail, pokemon names, suggested videos game etc...) and watch him go through his thought process. He honestly makes good educated guesses so it's great to see him win some but it's also so entertaining to watch him fail
To be fair, the entire First Generation was singlehandedly translated and named by the same man and he was more creative and out-there when it came to naming Pokémon. He used puns and Wordplay that would never be used again after he left. I think newer generations of Pokémon have names that are way easier for Jack to guess. We'll see, because I hope he continues this series. It was hilarious.

I love how excited you get when you know it or guess right! Some of the confusing ones are because of lore. Shedinja for example is the shed skin (possessed I think) of ninjask/nincada. If you have an open slot on your team and at least one empty pokeball when you evolve nincada into ninjask, then shedinja just appears in your team without catching it. Porygon is an artificial pokemon, so like Mewtwo, the scientist who made him just named his evolution porygon2. I'd watch if you streamed pokemon Violet/Scarlet when it comes out!

I watched this live and I’m so sad they left out my favorite part of the stream. After seeing Lotad and Lombre, for the next one he guessed “Lombrero” which is such a good name I used it in my recent Emerald playthrough

the face he made when he figured out the abra evolution names made me laugh for 5 minutes straight
him actually being able to guess some of the evos just from the first name was actually impressive

The amount of times he's named the final evolution for Gen 1 pokemon is pretty neat actually

Some of the confusing ones are because of lore. Shedinja for example is the shed skin (possessed I think) of ninjask/nincada. If you have an open slot on your team and at least one empty pokeball when you evolve nincada into ninjask, then shedinja just appears in your team without catching it. Porygon is an artificial pokemon, so like Mewtwo, the scientist who made him just named his evolution porygon2.
I'd watch if you streamed pokemon Violet/Scarlet when it comes out!

Porygon2 actually makes a lot of sense. He's supposed to be a digital program, so it's like a version number or a direct sequel.
It makes sense if you know the lore. It's less obvious looking at it that it's supposed to be a digital pokémon.

They could have taken the "gon" out since it's decidedly not made of polygons. Like "Poryoid" as a nod to ellipsoids/ovoids
