There's a lot you can do with the cheap Ramen Noodles packs without using the sodium heavy condiment packet it comes with. Boil, drain all the water, two tablespoons of olive oil or canola oil and sprinkle black pepper and yummy! Boil, drain all the water and mix it with beef stew. Boil, drain all the water and mix it with cooked rice.
The best way to make bagged microwave popcorn is to run the paper bag under cold water, wetting all sides, then microwaving normally. This helps the popcorn from burning and also produces more popped kernels as more steam introduced.
more steam equals chewy kernals. when making popcorn in a pan/pot take the lid off as soon as possible to release steam see how much crunchier your popcorn is.. thank me later
I've used the ramen noodles with ground meat (or tofu) and a sauce mixed from soy sauce, ginger and a few other ingredients. Toss it with some cooked frozen veggies (especially broccoli or bok choi or spinach) and it's great!
instant ramen is 100% a buy. costs 25 cents and you can add a ton of things to make it restaurant-worthy, like mushrooms, tofu, veggies, citrus, bean sprouts, egg, etc. ramen from a restaurant will cost about 30-50 times that and probably have just as much salt.
I haven't had Ramen in years but I used to make it with shrimp or chicken, leftover steak sliced thin throw in peas and carrots, mushrooms, green onions or whatever I had. I remember it being decent now and then.
frozen pizza brands like digiorno taste basically like salt and nothing else. but there are brands like dr. oetker & private selection (at kroger) that are very tasty & have less calories
I agree. If you think about it, everything is unhealthy. Cheese is filling, and calories sustain life. A science article I read said when you are starving the body needs fat and fat dense foods in order to survive. It’s not like we live on grilled cheese sandwiches. You would develop mal nutrition. Also peanut butter has protein even if it’s not raw, or organic. In fact it’s a wonderful food.
For some reason, I've gotten to the point that I can't stand white bread any more. This happened before I was diagnosed as a type 2 diabetic. Not sure why, but just looking at a loaf of grocery store bread literally makes me nauseous.
The body can know what it needs even if you're not(consciously)aware It knows. The body can let you in many ways if what you're eating is not good for you/it or if it is. Most of us are made that way.
You guys put this up 3 hours ago? Nothing you mentioned is cheap except for ramen noodles. I don't eat pork, I'm allergic to peanuts. I make homemade pizza on chickpea naan bread and homemade soy mozzarella. Everything you mentioned even frozen veggies are very expensive.
The things you tell us to buy: popcorn and oatmeal…. you say they’re healthy then show stock footage that isn’t the healthiest form of popcorn or oatmeal! 🙄
Bread has been baked in the UK and Europe for over 1000 years. The USA may of created the crap you lot eat but we still eat some of the original recipes you can keep your chemical bread thanks.
@@KB-hx3pxThat has nothing to do with the extra sugar and chemicals added to your breads there. They add the extras so they can make more profit and because the USA is willing to eat crap bread.
@@KB-hx3px I have and do sometimes grind my own wheat red and soft white. No you don't need all the extra chemicals and sugar. Try again with someone who 1 doesn't know about growing wheat and 2 someone who doesn't know how to cook and bake. 3 someone who doesn't understand food science.
So, let me get this straight. Grilled Cheese is a "don't buy" because to make it healthy by buying whole wheat bread and low calorie cheese would be too expensive, but PB&J is a "do buy" because it can be made healthy by buying whole wheat bread, natural peanut butter, and jams? Don't know where you shop, but low fat cheese is way cheaper than Natural Peanut Butter and Jelly/Jam.
Lol, grill cheese bad, but popcorn good. This video is almost as bad as the study from Tuft University claiming that ice cream and Fritos are healthier than a multi-grain bagel.
Actually, both are correct. Each seems to dominate depending on the speaker's/writer's location &/or specific culture. In fact, "begs" seems far more common than "asks". To be honest, I personally have never used, or, for that matter, even heard the phrase "asks the question".
This whole video is spoiled millennial BS. For those who have nothing else to do other than workout, raise a bunch of uncontrolled kids and have 6 figure budgets. Grilled cheese and frozen pizza maybe all that the “other half” can afford. 😤
What now? You should buy? or You shouldn't but?. But not at the same time as your grammatically incorrect intro line suggests! Do You guys have educated proofreaders who actually proofread and correct any and all of your posts? What foods would you recommend for someone on a tight budget?
can't go wrong with a sack of spuds!
Beans, potatoes, rice. Staples around the world. Seasoning adds yum.
Frozen produce, Popcorn, Frozen pizza, Instant ramen, Peanut butter & Jelly, Wheat bread, Lentils, Chocolate, Pasta, Nuts and In N Out
Look for marked down produce at the grocery store.

the great thing about instant Ramen is that it's customizable, you don't have to use the flavor packets. you can add whatever you like to it
I've used the ramen noodles with ground meat (or tofu) and a sauce mixed from soy sauce, ginger and a few other ingredients. Toss it with some cooked frozen veggies (especially broccoli or bok choi or spinach) and it's great!
We love adding raw veggies. Egg,sometimes leftover meat. It makes for a nutritious meal.
Me, drain all the water, a few tablespoons of olive oil or canola oil and black pepper! I never use the disgusting condiment packet it comes with.
Let's face reality... times are tough. You make do with what you can.
TLDR
Do: frozen veggies, homemade popcorn, oatmeal, P&J, pork, lentils
Don't: grilled cheese, frozen pizza, instant ramen, white bread, orange juice concentrate
You're welcome

Pop popcorn in a pot with olive oil and nutritional yeast (no added salt needed)! You'll never go back to bag popcorn ever and it's healthy!
frozen pizza brands like digiorno taste basically like salt and nothing else. but there are brands like dr. oetker & private selection (at kroger) that are very tasty & have less calories
6:45 Add an egg and some black pepper. That fixes the nutrition profile, somewhat.
I'll stick with the grill cheese.

I've never had a problem buying frozen veggies for under like $3 you shop sales coupons that you budget your Thrift you no name or store brand
Its just a buzzfeed video, not really something to take seriously
I buy both fresh and frozen produce.
Oatmeal good, pizza bad? I hate you! 🤣
When you put grains and water toghether you get GRUEL.
Ramen mackerel and hot sauce lived on that for years
Back to being the big Brother Thought police on food. Everybody has their likes and dislikes. Their are some I like and dislike.
Where is the "Harry I don't have time to make pizza" clip from? It's amazing 😂
Pb&j and pork is not budget friendly if you're extreme budgeting.
Pork is the only affordable meat these days!

Only popcorn with loads of real butter and salt. Without it, it tastes dry and flavorless. Why even bother eating it? Love popcorn.😊
Whole grain bread has lectins which are bad for you.
