I have been gping backwards to try and look at some pens I have not seen before. Thos is one pf them. These pens look wonderful. Thanks for the review. It looks like another acquisition for me.
I was very impressed with the quality of my Jinhao 51A, especially the coffee acrylic and its exposed #5 fine nib. The 200 looks to be equally if not even more impressive and a steal at that price. I'll definitely be ordering one. Thank you, Chris, for finding, trying and reviewing these gems for us.
Yep, at that price I didn't even wait for the review, and ordered both colors Chris did. Knowing that these pens will work like Jinhaos usually do meant that it was a great bang for the buck, as their all metal pens are five or six dollars, and these resin beauties only little over ten. The fake ivory look, which has some subtleties to it, and isn't just flat off white, just doesn't measure up to the other two options.
Thank you, Chis. I really like the look of these pens, in my opinion, Jinhao over the years, has made some outstanding pens but this is a notch up from their normal pens and at a bargain price, what's not to like.
i got the bone white one first, which is like a bone and milk swirl with some very translucent areas in the resin. very pretty. love it! I quickly got the other two colors and several copies, which i've gifted to orhers.
Trying to find a new pen that may be more comfortable with my arthritis. The metal part on the section may be helpful-having the weight towards the bottom. Thanks. Most informative review I have seen!
The metal section makes this a meatier choice, which is more front weighted. The S3 has a resin section, which makes it lighter, and easier to grip as the metal section isn't for everyone. When it comes to the number five nibs on these I like the Jinhao number five nib better than the Moonman number five nib by wide margin. (Moonnan number six nib is a different story, but you get the number five, which isn't as good, on the S1 and S3.)
Thank you for reviewing Chinese pens! I find your content so helpful for those looking to buy pens on Ebay. It's refreshing to see reviews on pens of the cheaper end that are not so commonly known in this community.

@@chrisrap52 thank you Chris! Keep us happy with reviews, our cosy small company enjoy with your journey into ink and paper world! It's really suitable time to practice writing now. Stay safe!
Many thanks for another interesting video, now I can't wait for mine to arrive! I've ordered the same 2 colours as you, a F nib and an EF hooded nib to see what its like.
Hi @@chrisrap52, My Jinhao 200 pens have arrived and i have to say they look even better in real life than they do on the Internet. The Extra Fine nib is very smooth and writes really well (Inked with Rohrer & Klingner Cassia). A nice touch is that the Extra fine has some ribbing near the top of the section which makes it really easy to use for extended writing. I would highly recommend the Extra Fine to anyone as it feels really good in the hand and is probably the best writing EF nib I have.
Hi Chris, thanks for a great review and all the others over the years. I just picked up one of these pens in Amber, and I love it. (I got 2 actually, one for a gift and then one for myself). The Fine nib writes pretty well, better than I expected, but I prefer medium nibs. Do you (or anyone) know if this nib is swapable? I've put Goulet nibs in a few of my Moonman, Kaigelu and Jinhao pens as I really like how they write. This pen doesn't seem to have a screw-in nib unit, and I don't want to break the pen, as it's fine as it is, but wondering if anyone has done a swap on a Jinhao 200 and how it was done. Thanks !
Thank you for another great review! It’s so helpful to see someone review such a plethora of pens! I’m surprised to see Jinhao come out with a celluloid-esque pen like this but I suppose I shouldn’t be. Chinese manufacturers do it all.
Have both of these on order from Bobby, along with some other stuff. Wouldn't have went with him as merchant without your reviews. Also wouldn't have a bunch of PenBBS pens in my daily rotation like my 456, several 491s, and several 500s. I also succumbed to the latest feeding frenzy, and got several 487s and improved 355s in resins I don't have yet. I have had several Jinhao x450s, and they served well for years, but the lacquer can separate from the smooth metal over time, which is really the only complaint I have about that model. I love the look of Jinhao Chainmail, which I have in silver and gold, and that looks almost exactly like my sterling silver Parker Sonnet Cisele, but for 1/20th of the price. The Sonnet has a bouncy gold nib, which is pleasure to write with, but which doesn't flex one iota, while the Jinhaos have a steel nib that I flexed to BBB from the F marked, for pages at a time, seemingly with no ill effect. It does require some brute force I wouldn't try with a more pricey pen, but with one so cheap I chanced it. Got it to do super flexy running eights for several lines on letter sized paper before starving the feed, but easily continued for just as many after repriming, whereas flex pens from FPR have been absolute disappointment. The FPR #5.5 sized flex nibs flex well, but their feed starve after third of a line or less, while the #6 sized flex nibs are utterly useless. Even had FPR send a replacement for my Himalaya, but it was just as bad, won't write, won't start, and if you trick it by starting in a drop of ink it will starve the moment you lift it off the paper, without even trying to flex. Tried to align, floss, and smooth the nib and the replacement to no avail. Eventually I gave up, and stuck in a big Nemosine stub nib, as I like the ebonite construction of the pen itself. This works OK, but not great. Does nice job to showcase Noodler's Lexington Gray. FPR has great customer service, but the pens are just not work it. (Kanwrite, which is not their own brand, but an actual Indian brand, I got from them is OK, but it is not up to PenBBS fit and finish. Still is OK for the price.) So I might use them for paper and ink, but will never buy a pen from them ever again. Random cheap pens from China never gave me such trouble, and if they had an issue, as about 1 in 6 or so does, flossing and/or smoothing the nib always took care of that. Anyway, enough of a long comment. Hope you don't get burned out on pen videos, and we can get our weekly "fix." I like the ergonomics of the Parker Sonnet, so the near replica, Jinhao Chainmail, works well too. I mean if it wasn't for the Jinhao branding on the cap band and nib it could fool most people into thinking it is a lower end steel nib Parker Sonnet. I am sure the actual fakes are made in the same factory. Anyway looking forward to getting those two Jinhao 200s, which I ordered in same color as yours. Hope they also have this new, or it was new last year, Jinhao nib that can take such abuse without springing. I mean pushed it past where most nibs would have sprung, and those two kept on ticking. You cannot flex for more than a page, as the pressure needed makes your hand hurt, but it does keep on flexing.
Oh. dear. Giving me yet another reason to order a new pen. I should order one because I do love the resin, and it looks like it has a fairly good nib. So....see you in Cheap Thrills. And once again, thanks for your great vid.

Nice pens. Was Jinhao a little concerned about the chunk Penbbs has been taking? I'm waiting for 51a pens in similar colors including Niango to arrive. The price is great!
