Yes! What a huge coincidence I'm eating Xiu Mai right now. I currently live away from home for school, so it's something I only get when I come home. I'm so thankful you posted this :)
What a coincidence indeed. When I was in school I use to make xiu mai in a rice cooker in my dorm room...lol! Wishing you much success with your studies! :)
Thanks for the recipe. Having this meal again has brought back some of childhood memory.

Having with tomatoes sauce and baguette ! This Xiu Mai gonna be a bomb!!
Can jicama be substitute with daikon ( Asian radish ) ? Thanks.. love the recipe ..👍
I recommend water chestnuts as a substitute for jicama. Daikon radish is a bit strong but if you like the taste, give it a try. :)
Simon Monaghan I recommend using cabbage.
I was going to try wood ear mushroom instead of jicama?
Sounds great Will! Let me know how it turns out for you. :)
Would it be alright to use ground turkey as an alternative? It’s what in my freezer now. Thank you! Love your videos!
Of course, turkey works really well and is so yummy!
no salt
I use fish sauce instead of salt.
If you can't find jicama, use wood ear mushroom instead :)
Just more convenient to buy Costco meatballs lol
