This is gonna sound odd, and I do agree with this not being a great fight, but it's not HARD, it's just tedious. It does the job it's designed for, and it works very well for that theme
Nah, I do think Camus' statement isn't ironic, him saying that people cope by thinking Sisyphus is happy, but him wanting people to actually rebel against the absurd society. Meursault, after all, rebels against the system he is in, he shoots the Arab because of some inexplicable irrationality, and refuses to justify himself, in the face of friends, Marie, Jury and Priest (God). He is painted as good in doing the rebellion even if he dies for his convictions. As compared to how in Kafka's work people merely accept their absurd circumstances, Posideon just keeps doing paperwork, the Trial just happens, and Gregor slowly wastes away because he accepts that his transformation prevents him from being a productive member of society and because of that, he doesn't really have anything to live for. (And to some extent, Limbus Gregor merely accepts his fate, accepts the surgery, and is trapped in war and a way worse hellhole, and doesn't do anything about it.) Just wanted to get these thoughts out because they've been stewing in my mind after reading that essay (and I think the juxtaposition of Camus' and Kafka's work is interesting). And obviously it was all for a bit, it was a nice nod, but I am a rare Project Moon fan that reads (just not game text)
Gotta like your take on it but I wanna say that Meursault did try to justify himself in the trial only to get interrupted & his opinion completely disregarded, "as if I didn't have a right to decide for my life"(he thought it to himself during the trial, dunno the precise quote though, so pardon for that), which further shows how strongly society was against him, judging him only based on common standards, particularly his "soul"; when in reality, he was merely different from others
That is a still a pretty incomplete way to understand Camus. Camus's absurdism is not something that can be rebelled, the whole universe is absurd and indifferent, thus wishing to revolt is futile in the face of it. It is more correct saying that he want people to embrace life in spite of its absurdities. Sisyphus is happy because even if the universe doesn't answer, he still creates his own meaning in life. Mersault is not an rebel, he is the representation of the indifference of the universe, the symbol for its absurdities. He doesn't justify because, in his mind as well as in the scale of the universe, murder is as meaningless as anything else.
Idk blud, technically, Camus' understands absurdity as our relation to the world rather than axiomatic to being (which is more aligned with Sartre's belief). And some academic text has reached my conclusion. Literatrary analysis is all interpretation in the end anyway. I am unironically glad to be elucidated tho.

Honestly, with Walpurgisnacht, this challenge becomes significantly easier mainly because of the Regret EGO for Meursault. -1 base power but +2 coin power if the leftmost skill is des coupes is insanely good, since it goes from 4/12 to 3/19, which is on par with your after poise buff rodion. And most of all, it costs only 3 wrath and 2 pride, meaning that thirsting doesn't add that much of a cost to it AND it has *no* envy for its cost. Honestly the fact that you pulled this off is insane....my first run of railway 2 ended in kind of a failure because I went with mostly a full Ncorp team, and my faust doesn't have fluid sack...so my only source of healing was Persuence and maybe Nclair with his pizza cutter. I say kind of a failiure is because I took the +15% hp and +1 weight slot in like cycle 3 and had only oround 5 pride right before wayward passenger...and the only person I had with an AOE was Outis's Ebony Stem...and after a while of trying I could't kill all the portals in 1 turn so I just settled with doing terminus instead and reaching passenger again with more resources and more IDs for pride next run. Railway 2 is fun...but damn I wish I had better pull luck for the healing EGO with how op it can be.
Congratulations on beating the challenge. Just finished the video. I wish you the best of luck to your future videos and I’ll keep watchin. I loved Meursault being one of the main damage dealers as well as how you learned about so many mechanics that most would gloss over. It is refreshing to see someone treat debuffs (even if they can be extremely situational) with respect. All things said have a good day.
As someone unfamiliar with this game, it seems to be structured as a Rouge-like game when you use this team. It starts easy to stockpile resources and teach you the mechanics before the real game starts. Which means the real challenge is not losing your mind stockpiling resources every start. With a better team you have freedom and don't need to stockpile as much, or you can and almost certainly win. It makes this game look interesting, and might be something I get.
I'm pretty sure in the original concept project moon wanted to make limbus company similar to darkest dungeon and the rogue like system. But it ended up becoming a gacha game, it's still peak despite the very obvious lootbox system
The roguelike was supposed to be literally darkest dungeon layout with wandering bosses and multiple routes before it was cut and simplified to all hell.
@@rain-pj4xqGod, I wish we could’ve seen that game become a reality I like Limbus don’t get me wrong, but that just sounds so interesting compared to the largely simplified Ruina we got gameplay wise

45:40 And thank you for putting together this whole entire video to showcase if it there was any possibility of this team being able to overcome such a challenge and displaying your sheer willpower and tolerance to see this challenge fully complete. I was most interested to hear about your end thoughts and if you were able to learn anything new and change perspectives on some strategies or status effects, seems like you did. You gained a broader perspective on this game and more insight into the game mechanics.
I guess STM is designed with assumption that people who run RR2 can eviscerate most of its health if they plan ahead. It's not that far of, but overall, any possibility of x.25 damage is not a great design. To be honest, I hate cycle 4 fox more than STM. You just can't escape from its 6 protection. I don't know what else to say. It's awful. Good video as always, see you next week!
I'm looking forward to seeing wayward Passenger and Sign of Roses in the mirror dungeons. They're fun fights but I didn't really feel like I could enjoy them as much because of the stress of trying to aim for a low turn count. I'd love it if there was some sort of mode where you could freely rematch with the abnormalities with no strings attached.
Man, even playing normally What Is Cast was my crutch against faelantern... Can't imagine how many times you had to watch that animation with this team.
Well seems like I got nothing to blame that I can’t pass all stations in the Refraction Railway This is a very impressive achievement, really impressive 👍
@HarambaeXelonmuskfansDon't see what the point of your comment even is. All I did was point out what I thought was a mistake. And yes, 3x is much different from 4x, if you're saying that it isn't.
As someone who didn't beat RR2 until about 4 weeks ago, and man, not having a healing Ego was pain, it wasnt until i got really lucky with the Gatcha and pulled Lantern Sinclair, which ended up carrying me despite my best sinclair id being talisman sinclair. I cant believe rhe satifiaction i felt when everything was said and done. I didnt get the special banners since it was season three. But i think i did fairly well with reaching cycle 5 and ending at 258 turns. Drifting Fox and the Steam machine were both probably the biggest roadblocks on my early cycles. Leading to endles restarts for the fights and lots of frustration. But i still think this was a fun a worthwhile experience for me since I think overall it was Fun. Definitely a lesson in good team building for me though.
as someone trying to get through this with a team i put together like yesterday rosespanner mersault has been amazing. thank you lord for self fueling pursuance /o\
It's very fascinating seeing the differences using weak IDs makes, since the Steam Machine was something I largely considered a free fight, and while Fox was annoying on Cycle 3 and 4 with its protection, it was hardly the worst. But one thing remains consistent, and that's the fucking centipede. It's both a horrible roadblock for people running weaker IDs, and the biggest, most finnicky RNGfest when you're actually trying to low-turn this whole thing with top tier IDs. I'm one of the seemingly rare people who really likes RR2, it's my favorite content in this game from a purely mechanical, gameplay standpoint, but fuck the centipede, the piece of shit did NOT deserve to steal the bull's spot on the roster.
[33:28] I'm curious - did you consider using Rodion's Fourth Match Flame in this fight? I get that it costs one Envy resource to do so, and it would have lowered Rodion's SP by 20, BUT it would have also made her Envy Resistance change from x2 to x0.75 (without her Gluttony resistance changing), which would have made her much tankier against some of Centipede's attacks.
Not really, but that is mostly because the problem was Sloshmael 90% of the time. If Rodion was targeted more I might have done that, and that is a pretty good tradeoff. I think there was only one time where Rodion was the lowest HP, her shield health made her less of a problem innately.
One must imagine RR2 enjoyer happy... I want to say simillar kinda point. I did 7 cycles 135 turns run myself, first 4 cycles felt easy, however next 2 cycles became something close to this run. Max HP 15% and +1 slot weight seems not alot, but when we're not talking about run where your turns count is limited. This completely breaks almost every strategy. Sinking spam on Centepide, trio of envy skills(QS, RS, DDEDR), skill planning on next fight - all of this was mostly worthless. I kid you not, on 6th Cycle all S2 and S3 ran out on Centepide, and i spent almost 14 hours on Fairy Duo through "Retry stage". It was more than devastating. It was eternal lifting of boulder on Everest until everything was ideal, from rolls to targeting. But during this run i understood that RR2 not just "eh i bring meta, gonna stack fragily and 1 turn boss"(it may be true for some instances tbh), IT'S RETRY STAGE SIMULATOR, NOTHING ELSE. I spent 58 hours on 7 135, 75% of which was 5th and 6th cycle. Was result enjoyable at some points - yea. Is it worth it - NO, but now i can flex with cool banner at nonexistent people!
To everyone haunted by steam machine: any tremor burst after you stagger it once make new stagger threshold that in return give you a safety net of dealing normal damage for whole turn after you break the body (X2 from stagger with X0.5 resistances)
you have GOT to do streams of stuff like this, i'd love to get gameplay footage with your live thought processes on display, especially since i also suck at this game and wanna see footage and commentary from somebody who knows how to play and deliver info *this* well
In case you didn't know Esgoo E.G.O attacks take SP first then rolls the coin for heads and tails, atleast I think so with how often base E.G.O misses heads now that they consume sp compared to before they didn't.
Resistance affects damage additively in limsus P. S absolutely not surprised to see cycle 4 fox on the list of worst fights, during my rupture run it caused absolute majority of resets
Also for whatever reason multipliers that are less than 1 (so x0.5 and x0.75) only have half the effect. So if something is fatal to blunt (x2) and has gloom ineffectiveness (x0.5) you actually deal 75% extra damage (on that step of the damage calculation at least).
Finally someone who share my hatred (not dislike, hatred like actual malice and would tear it apart if it was real) the only thing that would sting harder is if they released a steam machine ego and it was hot garbage and was actively detrimental.
Oh you didnt used the tech for aoe, basically by attacking the foxs dices first before using your aoe you can basically manually target the umbrellas, then after the aoe targeted the umbrellas you can then procced to redirect the sinners attack to somewhere else, did this for both roses and the fox and made it basically made the fight easier.
Congrats bud. Now go incinerate these IDs EDIT: also, I'm also the same with E.G.O. I never use it if it isn't absolutely necessary. Every single one of my Mirror Dungeon 2/MD2H run ends up with a limbillion resources.
If you come across MFE as much as I do, you're doing a good thing by keeping all those resources. Nothing better than being able to go "HA!!! I CAME PREPARED!" against that stupid statue. ...and then have all your EGO fail to clash with Aida anyway because she's fucking cracked

The quality of these videos is really incredible, I feel so lucky to be into a game with RUclipsrs like you making content for it ! I’m so grateful!
These past two refraction railway videos are really well made!
And congrats on 6 k ESGOO 🎉
@@rain-pj4xqGod, I wish we could’ve seen that game become a reality
I like Limbus don’t get me wrong, but that just sounds so interesting compared to the largely simplified Ruina we got gameplay wise
@@rain-pj4xq i cry
I absolutely love that there is a chance the sysiphis story be part of Mersault's chapter due to the nature of camus books
at 59:53 when you fade the text talking about how cool and awesome steam machine is, and how much you love the steamin' machine, you didn't fade out the text properly and it's still visible until the next group of text appears. Also good job on the run :)
You truly are the limbus company, ESGOO... Thank you.
Pain makes a man, and now you're something beyond that. Truly ascended.
45:40
And thank you for putting together this whole entire video to showcase if it there was any possibility of this team being able to overcome such a challenge and displaying your sheer willpower and tolerance to see this challenge fully complete.
8:10 time code for everyone who is trying to catch this message, and I agree, this fight is the most painful fight in the game even with good ids
Even with meta IDs it still sucks
My man, this was incredible to watch. Let's share a drink of it!
So this is where “One must imagine ESGOO happy” comes from.
It's,,, so funny to hear him complain about Steam-Machine taking 40 minutes, when it took him like... 5 hours for Gosypium and 4 on Pearl
Congrats champ, this is incredible!
Man, even playing normally What Is Cast was my crutch against faelantern... Can't imagine how many times you had to watch that animation with this team.
finally some damn good limbus content
Well seems like I got nothing to blame that I can’t pass all stations in the Refraction Railway
This is a very impressive achievement, really impressive 👍
10:00 Is it quartered though? I'm pretty sure damage is only 3x lower, because the resistances are not multiplicative, but additive
@HarambaeXelonmuskfansDon't see what the point of your comment even is. All I did was point out what I thought was a mistake. And yes, 3x is much different from 4x, if you're saying that it isn't.
Honestly thank you Esgoo, you are THE Limbus RUclipsr ❤
@@therealESGOO So, basically, Zwei Rodion needs to generate more Aggro, and Sloshing Ishmael probably doesn't need as much Aggro as she generates LOL.
Recently finished my sub 150 run, can confirm steam machine and centipede are pain.
I ended up using 7th Yi Sang and his 3 paralyze was great too.
So poetic letting Sloshmael die at the end as a sacrifice for this run.
This vid changed my perspective on these ID's. Still bad, but usable with RNG and Giga-Brain. 👌
you have GOT to do streams of stuff like this, i'd love to get gameplay footage with your live thought processes on display, especially since i also suck at this game and wanna see footage and commentary from somebody who knows how to play and deliver info *this* well
You may have Quick suppression and Rip Space, I have Subdue Threat and De Coups.
I am in pain.
44:25 Nah, canonically he's a W corp cleaner, so he _might_ have once _been_ a frat boy, but now he's a grown ass man with a hangover
God, the new regret ego wouldve made this run infinitely easier. Poorly timed lol
I FUCKING LOVE CLIMACTIC FINISHES TO CHALLENGE VIDEOS, R.I.P SLOSHMAELLLL
Is it ost from umineko on 9:00 based
40 full minutes for one fight is like tame by project moon standards from what ik
Admirable in my eyes.
i really love you video, keep it up!
Only a PM fan would be dramatic enough to intentionally kill their least favorite ID to prove a point at the end of the run. Amazing work though
Great video as always!
Absolutely phenomenal
The fulfillment was the happiness we imagined along the way
In case you didn't know Esgoo E.G.O attacks take SP first then rolls the coin for heads and tails, atleast I think so with how often base E.G.O misses heads now that they consume sp compared to before they didn't.
do you think i can beat railway without fluid sac if i have good ids and make sure i dont get hit too much :3?
It’s possible, but I would hardly recommend it. Fluid Sac or Pursuance would make your experience far more bearable
BGM at 28:21 when you talk about the fae lantern fight?
Resistance affects damage additively in limsus
P. S absolutely not surprised to see cycle 4 fox on the list of worst fights, during my rupture run it caused absolute majority of resets
I will never understand why project moon changed the resistance formula
@@yanik5480 double fatals would do ridiculous damage
@@aisir3725 but now fatal overrides all of the resistances and they barely do anything
Also for whatever reason multipliers that are less than 1 (so x0.5 and x0.75) only have half the effect. So if something is fatal to blunt (x2) and has gloom ineffectiveness (x0.5) you actually deal 75% extra damage (on that step of the damage calculation at least).
Funnily enough, I've been playing since a month or so and this video is when I finally learnt support ids existed
To think i put off completing RR2 until the final week because i thought it was too tedious to complete.
Ever tried actually pulling Regret Faust nerd?
bro actually delivered
The finale to the ultimate CBT event limbus has offered so far.
One must imagine ESGOO happy.
44:15:
Fluid Sack, Ebony Stem, Ar or blossom star and Leisure Domain.
One must imagine ESGOO finishing refraction railway.
first time i saw zwei Rodions s3 animation omg and honestly she ate HARD (no crumbs left)
Honestly I would have appreciated a full unedited version of just you playing through this challenge to see the strategy in full
WOW, WHAT A MOVIE. SO FULL OF TRAGEDY!
Can't wait for you to do this on RR3
Finally someone who share my hatred (not dislike, hatred like actual malice and would tear it apart if it was real)
the only thing that would sting harder is if they released a steam machine ego and it was hot garbage and was actively detrimental.
This is the moment where ESGOO bloomed
うおー!これの本編待ってました!!
“One must imagine gacha player happy”
Oh you didnt used the tech for aoe, basically by attacking the foxs dices first before using your aoe you can basically manually target the umbrellas, then after the aoe targeted the umbrellas you can then procced to redirect the sinners attack to somewhere else, did this for both roses and the fox and made it basically made the fight easier.
WOOOOH NEW ESGOO VIDEO, YEAAAAAH!
More suffering in the railway.
Splendid!
Can't wait for ESGOO to do this again for railway 3!
Just to point out: Liu Hong Lu passive could trigger with EGO, since you use Capote and Ardor Blossom.
ES of the COOM
Congrats bud. Now go incinerate these IDs
EDIT: also, I'm also the same with E.G.O. I never use it if it isn't absolutely necessary. Every single one of my Mirror Dungeon 2/MD2H run ends up with a limbillion resources.
same
Same here. Resource hoarder haha
That tendency did allow me to absolutely fold the Kromer fight
Same. Use them only when there is good opportunity to combo (hex nail/ds on nuke turn)/important clash/setup something (fluid sac/bodysack)
If you come across MFE as much as I do, you're doing a good thing by keeping all those resources. Nothing better than being able to go "HA!!! I CAME PREPARED!" against that stupid statue.
...and then have all your EGO fail to clash with Aida anyway because she's fucking cracked
i cant wait for the RR3 worst IDs run :)
