The craziest thing is Sam Rockwell might not look like Bush but goddamn his mannerisms are so spot on your mind makes you believe he IS.
And why is Christian Bale credited? And since when Dick Cheney himself became an actor?
Mr. Tey literally thought Rockwell was Bale at first..? and then when it panned to "Dick".. i got soooo confused haha
All this time, when Christian Bale was on the CBS Morning Show discussing his weight gain for this role, I was thinking this was gonna be another GWB movie (and that's not to take away from 🤘well; Sam's a win in EVERYTHING he does). I admit that I had to pause the clip, rewind, and start over cause for a few seconds, I did not recognize that voice & that face to be Christian Bale's. 🤯
It's looking like a great year to go to the movies this Christmas.
His mannerisms are not Bush's, though.
Sam Rockwell is the finest American actor alive today in my opinion.

Christian Bale's physical transformations are so impressive that they often overshadow his performances in people's conversations, but my god is he a great actor. Sam Rockwell nailed the mannerisms of W, too.

Vndres I don't know about this particular movie but Bale has done similar real body transformations before. He became fat for the 2013 movie American Hustle (which released in theaters just a year after The Dark Knight Rises in which he played Batman) and then after the movie was done, he worked the fat off once again. So I'm inclined to believe he might have just gotten fat for this role too. Though I think some of the fat on his face area might be makeup, etc. when comparing it to his face in American Hustle (though it might just also be age doing it's thing and his face starting to get fat easier when he fattens up for a role).
He has makeup to make him look more like Cheney but he gained weight for the role. Christian Bale has a long history of losing/gaining weight for roles, and in my opinion he took it too far for The Machinist, losing 110 lbs in under 6 months and wanting to go lower but Nolan feared for his health.
No look for a recent picture of Bale, he must be around 200-220 pounds of mostly fat at this point. This dude takes acting to next level. He has been a on the brink of death anorexic, a ripped super hero and no a fat old white dude. All that in like in around 15 years.
Christian Bale looks so much like Dick Cheney! It's impressive how he transforms himself for whatever role he takes on. The movie looks really good!

It's Me, Cody If we're going to compare something like that, I would call Oldman the better actor actually. The skill of acting is in putting on a show of being something that you aren't. Actually becoming the role doesn't make you a good actor; it makes you dedicated to the job, for sure, but it's questionable how much you're actually "acting" at that point.

While Bale's physical transformation is goddamn impressive, it's his projection of Cheney's mannerisms, even the minute ones like heavy breathing in between words that's goddamn beautiful. Just looking at his performance is giving me goosebumps.

Awesome trailer and great looking movie. One thing I particularly enjoyed about this trailer is how at the start you just hear the base of the song “The Man” by The Killers. Then they gradually add components of the song until the song is firing on all cylinders

The way Christian Bale is able to control every muscle in his face is those last couple frames is mesmerizing.
Steve Carrell as that sleaze ball Rumsfeld is spot on.
This trailer is just so perfect. I wish Rockwell had gone through a similar transformation to be more bush-like, but when you put anything up against Bale willing to risk it all to play a role I suppose you're always gonna come up short.
Christian Bale is proof that if you put your mind to it you can do anything. Arguably the hardest working actor alive. Always love watching him work.

I work at the movies and so I see this trailer all. the. time. And I just get goose bumps every time I see it. Whoever did this trailer deserves a raise. And idk, but these types of movies just scratch that "itch" for me lol. I cannot wait for this movie.
Every facet of Bale's performance here is truly amazing, that little head movement when he's looking at Rockwell after he says "hot damn" is just perfect, conveying a man who is constantly watching people, seeing what makes them tick and how to manipulate them to his advantage

Bale *_is_* Cheney, just as he is with damn near every other role he's taken, totally agree there. Rockwell doesn't really look at all like Bush, but the body language is spot on enough that you can look past the physical.

The way Cheney really got the job, was Bush Sr. told Jr. that if you're gonna run, you need a VP like I was for Reagan, someone to do the dirty work and carry the heavy loads, all under the radar. Only difference was, Cheney wasn't as low under the radar.

This trailer is the best one ive seen in ages its a work of art, Im sure the performances are great maybe even oscar worthy, maybe but people here are really applauding the folks who put this trailer together it hits every beat. Unlike most hype trailers I am pretty sure the movie will deliver.

The first thing that caught my attention was Sam Rockwell b/c he's absolutely amazing. So I'm watching the whole trailer going, huh, Idk who Dick Chaney is but I can't wait to see Sam Rockwell in this film. So then I see "Christian Bale" flash across the screen, and I'm like, wait, who the hell does he play?? I sat here for 2 minutes with my jaw on the floor. I actually watched 90% of the trailer without recognizing one of my favorite actors.
