Ginger Jeans Part 5 and we have finished, topstitching, belt loops, buttonhole and hems.

Hello everyone and welcome to part 5 of the Ginger Jeans sewalong, today we will be sewing the topstitching on the waistband, sewing on the belt loops, sewing the button hole, attaching the button and hemming the jeans, hooray we have finished. I am making view A, the lowrise, stovepipe leg jeans in a gorgeous stretch denim from Maaidesign in the colour fern.
I buy my YKK zips from Jackstock Haberdashery in Moorabbin, who coincidently are having a clearance sale on site at 3/20 KEYS ROAD MOORABBIN 3189, 9am - 4pm Friday 3 May and Saturday 4 May, I know I will be going.

Hello Deb. Thank you for all the effort you put into this sew a long, and sharing it with us all. The jeans look fantastic too. I did buy the Clover fork pins (from The House of Cloth here in Bendigo) which will come in handy in my future sewing projects. You’re welcome Allison, I do love the jeans, very comfortable. JackStock are really well priced especially if you have an ABN and they ship really quickly, the sale on Friday and Saturday is only at there factory, but they are very well priced in non sale times also. I’ve enjoyed these videos so very much! I don’t think I’ve seen those fork pins before, I’ve always doubted pined on each side of a join and that doesn’t always work of course because the 2 pins can move independently while the machine stitches over. I’ll be searching the fork pins out! Your jeans look so good!

Hi Deb, Yes they are described as wide leg pants. I can't tell from the photos on the pattern how wide as the models wear them rolled up. The front leg does taper down to the hem though, whereas the back leg is straight. The back leg width is 2 1/2" more than the front at the bottom hem on size 40 (9 7/8" vs 7 3/8"). I hope I have been helpful! Pam
