This felt like the opening to some real-life anime hahaha. I don't know why, but I'm rooting for you man! I think it's cause I'm the same age and in my last year at University too. Initially, I wanted to go on to law school, but I started creating this web series with a friend and we stopped just like you did, but I decided to enroll in an art class this year to learn to draw better so I can finally put up that web series. To following our dreams! Hope we make it!
Your video was just recommended to me and I’m so glad to have found your channel! Your videos are very inspirational and motivated me more into pursuing my dream.
Im really glad i found this channel! For change its someone actually talking seriously about creating your own manga. Many people say that its their dream to draw manga and many of them ignore all the hard reality, all the suffering and the absurd workflow and most of em just give up at some point. Am glad someone is constantly working their ass of to follow their artistic dream alongside me! Looking foward to your other vids and it would be cool to see you on instagram so you can share your drawings and sketches
Thanks man ! That's exactly why I started this channel. I don't have Instagram but I do have a Twitter account where I post work in progress. It's game related right now it's mainly 2D animations and concept art
@@RavioliMuyCalor Will you be making more videos in the near future? You have a way with words that really describes what we're all feeling better than how we can, and I'd love to learn more about your work. Btw have you considered streaming?
@@watLegends Hey thanks so much ! I've just finished writing the script of the next video, I need to record it and do the editing which takes quite a bit of time. But I'm working on it ! I haven't really considered streaming yet. Maybe in the future once I get my own place °°
i swear while you were talking near the end of the video i got the same feeling i get when i watched a new anime back when i was a kid! Your channel sounds pretty awesome and i can see where your coming from, see I'm also kinda hoping to make an anime too. But all i could say is good luck from 1 dreamer to another!
I understand what you mean completely, I to want to just be someone who creates things. I have no true hard preference for one art form that I want to get into, I just enjoy the creative process to the point where I just seem indecisive. I look forward to your future content and can't wait to see what comes next.

Hey I started working on a manga two months ago. It's a story my youngest brother and I worked in for 5 years. I'm drawing it by hand ( cuz im poor lol) and I am learning on the way. Thanks for sharing this video. I was (and am) very scared of screwing up. I burned my self out and got stuck it's been 2 weeks since I've continued it . this video reminded me why I started drawing this story on the first place. Thank you!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! ❤❤
I can relate to this so much. I've been drawing for 10 years and I'm still trying to find my own art style, trying to draw manga, trying to draw more body proportions, trying to shade more etc I can say that I have improved so much over the years. However, it isn't enough yet to become a manga artist yet. I still struggle and lack motivation but I still continue to draw because I love to draw and show people my original characters, backstories, and story. Getting constructive criticism and getting praised for my work always motivates to keep pushing myself to continue drawing manga and my characters. Thank you for making these videos to help me realize all this. You have yourself a new subscriber!
I know this a year late but im in your exact position when you were sixteen right now, and you inspired me to try again at 17 to make my work even better. Thanks and I will always watch you
I think you’re brilliant and this content is brilliant, lately I’d been lacking the commitment, real commitment that is. But you’ve just lit a fire under me reminding me of this commitment, devotion and resolve it requires to become a manga artist/mangaka.
Your video has been on my recommended, and this is the first time I feel genuinely motivated in a long time to work harder from someone whom I have never met before. Everything you say here makes me feel reassured and has lit a fire in me to better myself as a creator, and that I am not alone. I needed this. I look forward to see you make it one day in the industry!
Dude, thanks, I'm also an engineneering student and I always wanted to make my own manga proyect. thanks for making this video. I'll be looking towards the things you say, thanks :)
If you don't draw like crazy, even if you are talented, you can't become better than somebody who is not talented. Work is so much more important than talent and if you love what you do, working would never be hard.
I am speechless, I can’t explain how thankful I am to you. Right now I’m experiencing the creativity crisis too, I started to thinking just to give up, but your story reminded me how motivated I was. All the time before watching your video I thought I lost that feeling of creating something bizarre and gorgeous. Each time when I saw a person who was really enjoying while he is drawing something I was really jealous. Because he was feeling so excited and motivated. When I was just a beginner I never stopped to draw even if it was impossible and I knew that it would be a horrible result by the end, I was drawing all day long. Even I didn’t do anything on the class at school and my parents was upset that I was wasting my time into a just drawing anime characters. Each year I saw that it was getting better and better but, and at the same time I started feeling less motivated and it’s become my routine. I got sick and tired of that and start to do something else, but then realized that I have no any talent except drawing. And I couldn’t pick the different career except drawing. It was a hard time to pick what should I do in the future. I started hating that I was so stupid and wasting time on drawing instead of doing something more productive. Then the great idea came into my mind, what if I will be a 3d animator. I knew that it could be easy, because you are just drawing this on the computer. But I was wrong, I picked a dual credit course in my school for 3d animation. And when I came into a class full of computers and a lot of other students who was really enjoying of that. The first lesson was really amazing, and I guess I will never forget this great experience. I started to deep interesting about animation process. And each time when I saw something new it was like I am discovering a new unknown world. I had a field trip on the college territory which I am gonna to apply next year. And know that it would be really hard to get accepted. I saw the amazing student art working and started to giving up again. I felt like I already good enough and couldn’t become better as I can. I thought that these artists are much better and more talented than me, and they will become a successful in their life. Until I watched your video... Your story reminded me how hard I was working on my skill so I can’t just give up, and need immediately to do something to improve it much better. Your words like a shovel was digging-so deep into my memories. Thank you so much, and I hope you will be able to realize your dream into reality.

"Keep making shitty stuff over and over again so much that I end up getting good at it" You Sir, have described my artistic life in a nut shell. Consider this video liked and an additional subscriber on your roster!
Thank you for this video! Unlike you i feel that I started drawing anime a bit late, I'm 22 and in a similar way just drawed random and weird stickmen since I was a child until finally (and to the influence of a friend) decided to be an Anime artist (most like pixiv guys do it, and sometime I want to make a Visual Novel with it), and I have a really long way to go and struggling with difficulties, but finally I have found what I really want to do for the rest of my life. I wish you good luck!
I'm really glad RUclips recommended a channel as small as yours with such quality content. I hope you gain tonnes of viewers and subscribers from this~! And I wish you luck in your journey as well.
Thank you youtube for recomanding me this channel ! This is so quality ! I think you're the one who show us the reality whitout make us demotivated about creating things ! Thank you for you work, and hope you will finally grant your dreams !
I hope you become a great manga artist your doing so well! I’m gonna support you the whole way you have such a promising start for you your gonna become so popular one day!
You're not alone, buddy! I'm sure you'll succeed and it'll be beautiful to watch so keep on doing it! And never give up. Just take care of your health, because your body should have energy to enjoy your victory😁
I feel complete, you just change my life, I will never give up I have to thank you a lot I feel like I can do it now. Becoming a mangaka is my dream. But I have to ask you if your goal is to publish in Japan
If my manga ever got animated, I'd like you to be a voice actor of one of my main characters. Your voice is.... ah I love it. And we're of the same age. So glad to come across someone who puts his life on the line to achieve this dream.
A good system for making comics/manga to work to is this - plot out basic the storyline - design the characters around said story - flesh out the world they inhabit - create concept art of the environments and characters - plan out and write the chapters - thumbnail the pages - ink the pages - add text and effects - publish as you finish
lol that's so me #relatable especially drawing sonic characters except I never really got into drawing my own comics maybe I should start one :0 but right now I'm busy making a game and HW from my school >-< and in my free time I just like drawing random stuff XD I just have to keep moving forward not giving up :D
I subbed man I love your attitude towards your goals and it inspires me to work on drawing . I really want to tell stories but I have incredible issues with not thinking anything I produce will be good enough , so thanks for the extra push .
I tried to get my cartoons/comics published for the first time when I was 17. 23 years have gone by, now self publishing is not only sensible, it looks to be becoming the norm.
Very good video. I got a lot of infermation and stuff. Sorry writing fails and stuff. A week ago I sent in a storyboard I haven’t heard anything from them. I am not very good at digital drawing so I sent a letter. Oof... People say to me I should just work as an assistant to a donald duck comic writer or just make comics in the newspaper. I am working on a shounen ai manga. I am struggeling with anatomy and stuff. I don’t want to give up but... people say I should give up and get a normal life be more social and stuff.
Drawing is a really slow skill to pick up, we're all strugglling at different levels. Do what you like to do and know how far you want to go with it. The argument with the "normal life" is real to me too, I sometimes ask myself if all of this is worth it. The thing is, there's no way to know. We can just do our best with what we have in hopes of getting to where we want. It doesn't have to be all black and white though. You can work hard on your projects and still set time aside to see friends, I think it's really important to set healthy habits early on. Best of luck man
Glad to have found a polymath like myself whom I could vibe with. 😌 If I think of the positives here, it would be that Your work will stay for generations to come. One thing that can be done is that you can work for the publishers for a couple of years, or as long you're comfortable, provided that they don't make you sign any long term contract with them. 🤔
*SUBSCRIBER EARNED!* I am just like you! You remind about myself so much!!! I DON'T KNOW WHY? BUT I CREATE THINGS TOO! I LOVE TO *CREATE* When I was 13, I also spent time to create a game (that sucked). AND RIGHT NOW....I'm working on a Manga
J'aime beaucoup !
22? And all the backstory and progress? I'm not going to tell you you're going to be fine because that never helps, but dude you're going to be fine, you are already fine lol. You're doing great and then some. Has it been easy? Doesn't sound like it. Is it going to get easier? Who knows. But I can tell you for certain if you just stick with it(which you don't seem to have a problem doing already), you're going to go places. If you haven't realized already, you've already gone places, at least in my opinion. Can't wait to see what opportunities unfold for you and what things you figure out in the future and what you share. "Just stick with it, but it's also ok to take care of yourself when you need to."
Ohh someone else who likes create media in all his forms and also im actually 16 (started drawing since 7-8 months) , next year i hope i will doing an exam of a scholarship to go to Japan to do my higher studies (Software engineer). Good luck anoter guy like me :P
Is it a pattern or something? Most of the people commenting here study software engineering, including myself xD (Well, I work as one) But now I strive to become an Anime/Manga artist too
I love bakuman and I believe you can make it! Do what saikou and takagi did and create good manga. Remember a manga has to be interesting to get serialized.
To everyone who’s wanting more RUclips content from him: He’s working very hard on his project(s). He’s gotta take time for his mental, emotional, and physical health. Try to understand the difficulties that he has to go thru to try to keep up with his life as well. I want him to upload too, but we gotta understand and be patient so he can take his time for him and so he can come back whenever he’s ready to create content on RUclips for us :)
I hope it will work for you. You'll still very young but you learned so much, so much hard work and dedication. I think you should consider a kickstarter and some self-publishing. Maybe if you're not sure if you want to dedicate your life to manga, instead of writing one try hiring yourself as an editor or artist for some mangaka. Publishers are always cruel for "no names", so maybe working with some successful artist will help you. Getting to know this people might be a gamechanger (though im not a mangaka). Also it's a little bit hard to find a gallery of some sort with your arts. People like to share stuff and a significant number of fans might be good to shut-out your manga when its get publis Anyway good like, i hope I'll see your dream come true one day!
I'm studying engineering and also an artist but I can't seems to have free times......it hurts that I can't do drawings like i used to do before I'm like you.....i take a lot of time to make a page....but time is short and there is a lot of works

I wish you good luck!
this could be counted as an inspirational video. you go publish that bro
I am glad someone feels the same way I feel most young artists with no experience feel thanks for making this vedio
I feel this channel will definitely help a lot of people including myself, can’t wait to see more of your videos. 😊 keep up the good work!
Thank you so much, I’m a lot like you ya know, and I feel like you are my future self
My jaw dropped when you said "I'm 22" 😅
Thankyou so really much 🙏🏻 for creating this, thankyou
As someone who wants to study in a stem field and learn how to make art, this spoke to me
This is great content. Hope to see more videos from you /guy at phase 1
Damn your videos really hit very hard on me I could feel everything your saying and I like that please keep making more content don't stop
Oh thanks ! I do really enjoy voice acting so feel free to send a message ~
A good system for making comics/manga to work to is this
- plot out basic the storyline
- design the characters around said story
- flesh out the world they inhabit
- create concept art of the environments and characters
- plan out and write the chapters
- thumbnail the pages
- ink the pages
- add text and effects
- publish as you finish
lol that's so me #relatable especially drawing sonic characters except I never really got into drawing my own comics maybe I should start one :0 but right now I'm busy making a game and HW from my school >-< and in my free time I just like drawing random stuff XD I just have to keep moving forward not giving up :D
after 2 vids, I really like this channel now lol
Good bgm btw.
I want to play that Sonic card game... I mean, you have amazing art. Good luck on your channel!
That Sonic card game is quite possibly the peak of my artistic abilities. Truly outstanding
Holy shit dude I'm 16 and started making comics and create my own universe like Marvel. I'm so serious about this which is why I'm your videos
I only watched 2 videos but you already helped me a lot thank you
wow, what a motivational video!
I love your videos, they help me to give my best when i draw.
keep it up 💪
I subbed man I love your attitude towards your goals and it inspires me to work on drawing . I really want to tell stories but I have incredible issues with not thinking anything I produce will be good enough , so thanks for the extra push .
Your story sounds like mine! It’s like I’m watching a story of myself
don't give up on your path man
You got yourself a new subscriber, great video man and keep grinding you'll eventually get there ❤️
I tried to get my cartoons/comics published for the first time when I was 17. 23 years have gone by, now self publishing is not only sensible, it looks to be becoming the norm.
Yay, merci beaucoup ! Bon courage pour tes projets /
Best of luck man
I made Minecraft comix back in 2012 , now I'm just starting to make something
Glad to have found a polymath like myself whom I could vibe with. 😌
If I think of the positives here, it would be that Your work will stay for generations to come.
One thing that can be done is that you can work for the publishers for a couple of years, or as long you're comfortable, provided that they don't make you sign any long term contract with them. 🤔
It's nice to know there are others like me, that love creating.
*SUBSCRIBER EARNED!*
I am just like you! You remind about myself so much!!! I DON'T KNOW WHY? BUT I CREATE THINGS TOO! I LOVE TO *CREATE* When I was 13, I also spent time to create a game (that sucked). AND RIGHT NOW....I'm working on a Manga
Thank you
You have shown me i should continue trying and have given me inspiration, continue making videos
Thank you
have you published your manga anywhere? the art looks amazing and i want to read it
J'aime beaucoup !
This whole thing reminds me of the end of an old Fruits Basket episode..I love it. lol
Most of the people commenting here study software engineering, including myself xD (Well, I work as one)
But now I strive to become an Anime/Manga artist too
Please make more your videos are a huge wakeup call for me!
I need to know the song playing in the background! It's so nice and makes me feel inspired to do something grand!
I hope you get your manga serialized one day. Bakuman is an amazing anime.
I love bakuman and I believe you can make it! Do what saikou and takagi did and create good manga. Remember a manga has to be interesting to get serialized.
yo, i'm actually going right on his path
To everyone who’s wanting more RUclips content from him:
He’s working very hard on his project(s).
He's also an engineer, plate is full
I hope it will work for you. You'll still very young but you learned so much, so much hard work and dedication.
I think you should consider a kickstarter and some self-publishing. Maybe if you're not sure if you want to dedicate your life to manga, instead of writing one try hiring yourself as an editor or artist for some mangaka. Publishers are always cruel for "no names", so maybe working with some successful artist will help you. Getting to know this people might be a gamechanger (though im not a mangaka).
Also it's a little bit hard to find a gallery of some sort with your arts. People like to share stuff and a significant number of fans might be good to shut-out your manga when its get publis
Anyway good like, i hope I'll see your dream come true one day!
just found your channel, and subbed keep up the good content man. love to see more
Thanks so much. Helped a lot.♥️
Anywhere we can look up your comic online/buy so we can support?
I'm studying engineering and also an artist but I can't seems to have free times......it hurts that I can't do drawings like i used to do before I'm like you.....i take a lot of time to make a page....but time is short and there is a lot of works
Nice content hero, keep up the good work!!😁😁
I just found out this channel, and i really wanna be an animator at Disney and now I am confused if I'm going to be an animator or a manga artist, I wanna be both.
How's your journey a year later? Serious question since I've been introspecting for years now and most modern artists aren't like us.
I would really like to see some more vids since I’m a kid and want to become a mangaka/Comic artist
Thanks for sharing your experiencie, I hope you succeed one day and your manga would be published!! Keep on with the good work man!!
Holy shit is this a good channel
