One thing I've learned while growing my hair is that the ends will look thin at every new milestone. Our hair strands grow at different rates, when I reached waist length I had to wait another year for all of my hair to catch up. Now I'm tailbone length, the more you cut the longer it will take. However, I completely understand the urge to trim, lol.
I feel like this means we should just be watching the top part of our hair instead of using the nape part for length checks. Interestingly enough because my hair is low density, my goal wasn't my nape hair but for my top middle hair to reach my desired length because I want a blunt Bob.
@@lookingatdaisies9901 I agree, it’s just a measure of how much hangs down your back, we can do without it. I personally now use the “George Michael Method” of measuring my hair, I was going insane measuring the other way. It felt like my hair wasn’t growing 🤣! Now I measure the overall length instead of each section because it’s pointless. My hair is currently 35.5 inches and my goal is 60 inches (long way to go). You’ll get your bob in no time, keep it moisturized and leave it alone 💕.
Agreed!! This is the comment I was looking for because I thought the same thing! No matter how healthy my hair is, overtime as it grows, I will have thinning at the ends b/c due to the coily nature of my hair. In the past I would trim & trim and hinder growth. Now I’m learning patience and only dusting when needed. It’s definitely a learning curve! It’s sad b/c I see so many naturals trimming unnecessarily!
Thank you for this comment. You just saved my hair.
Maybe the ONE exception to using a wide tooth comb would have come in handy for your hair cut. It would have made sure all trapped shed hair would jave come to the surface (ends) and given you more accuracy with your haircut! Just a thought. A comb once a year does not hurt much. ❤
I usually first comb the shed hair out with a wide tooth comb and then with a fine toothed comb and my hair is fine with it.
@queenofpunt Right Sis! I am all for finger detangling however there comes a time when we can safely combine out hair once or twice a year to ensure there are no trapped shed hair's! As much as our fingers are the "true feeler", a comb is still necessary to cov it thru (just once is enough. ONE full comb thru,,,nothing fancy! Much like the curly cut controversy IMO!
@@154angel154or a tangle teaser. I use finer combs when flatiron-ing my hair
Comb your hair under running water and you can comb everyday.....zero breakage.
@@154angel154 yeah but I usually avoid combing through my ends with the fine toothed comb so I just comb the shed hairs from the scalp to the direction of the ends but i don't actually comb through my ends with it since they're the most suspectable to breakage
Hi NA! My daughter locked her hair 5 years ago cause she hates combing it. It is down her back now and she does all kinds of styles with it. She loves it.
What’s going on in our lives affects our hair, skin and general health. I hope you’re feeling better and that things are going better for you.
Blowing it out and getting a proper trim would also help preventing that
I just did my 3month trim a couple of days ago & my Tresses are thriving, healthy & beautiful. Nothing struggling on my head = Glory....
Welcome back! It's good that you knew you needed a trim, but more needed to be cut. I still saw see through ends. I would have detangled, then twisted it up and cut where the hair started to taper. That would've made a better tutorial.
I’ve been following your channel very inspired and educated on ways to take care of my hair from your previous videos…. However I feel your energy and relate to what’s going on currently… to sum all… you’re not alone! Unfortunately our hair always seems to be the first target to cut and let go… your hair is still pretty and healthy sis keep going and remain strong your hair will catch 🆙
Thank God you are alright and doing better! Missed you ughh Where you been? Congrats to all your goals and finishing your schooling I know that meant a lot to you. All your hard work paid off! So happy for you and your many blessings you have a lot to be grateful for. Look at all God the Father has done for you. He got your through that and you will continue to make with God's help! Church is just a building it and about have a real relationship with God. Talking to him getting to know God through the Word of God. Many people are just religious going to a church building and cannot even pray for themselves? I am done with religious people.
I appreciate your transparency. Im done done with school (thank God), but yes life is life. We also are trying to move and mostly because its hard to find a place that accepts pets and that fits our other requirements. We might have to stay in a hotel for a little while as well because we are not staying where we are currently regardless. Idk what to do and yes its stress. I never lived in a hotel before so the transition would be new. Sending love to anyone experiencing life right now. You are not alone ❤.
Welcome back!! I just cut the dead ends off my own hair. Kinda felt like cutting the "bad" off
You have the most beautiful eyes my sister
She looks extremely beautiful and has a beautiful soul. Sorry but I hope so much, that she starts to drink more water now, instead of only "working on it". I love her. If that's ok.
Sis❤❤❤ welcome back!!! Im sooo glad to see youuu back to youuuu!!!
Not you coming back 5 months later like nothing happened🤣
Girl, you were missed!!
Yasss
Right 😂
She did a live addressing where she was.
@@tmariek2what did she say ?
@@tmariek2 apparently she delete the live so ..
Hallo, its been long ... i miss your videos.. finally you posted.. glad that your doing great... the hair will grow back just take good care of it as you did in the past.
Welcome back Sis. This trim will be good for your hair but because of its coily nature, you're most likely missing quite a few. I figure when you're settled you'll blow it out and trim it to ensure everything is good.
Glad your back and doing alright.
Always here to watch till the end, glad you're back, :)
Congratulations. On graduation. And welcome back 🙏🙌🎉🙌🙏
“Let me not get scissor happy” literally was cutting centimeters off 15-18in hair😂.
lol exactly. Didn’t really do nothing but a waste of her time. Those dead ends need to go.
Agreed 😂
@@blessedkatrina when I clicked on the video I noticed her density was less than in previous years. I said then, it’s because she’s not cutting off the dead ends . Just snipping at them every few months. And those splits are traveling up. Tbh she’s better off not cutting them at all. It’s plenty of ethnicities who don’t trim their hair .
@@staciegreene2262what ethnicities? Cause if they don't that's bc they don't get split ends in thr first place
@@tsuyuasui7297 All hair will split , doesn’t matter the ethnicity. But to answer your question The women of:
Chad (introduced us to Chebe
powder).
Ethiopians and Indians (introduced us to Ayurvedic powder and clay)
Yao tribe (introduced us to rice water.)
These are just a few, but these women don’t traditionally trim/cut their hair.
I want to encourage you to push thru. There is light on the other side. You have worked very hard to get to where you are and only success is waiting on the other side of the door. Sometimes life has a way of working itself out. Just be patient with yourself.
On another note, KEEP FINGER DETANGLING. I do not use a comb or brush no matter what the majority may say, and I will not be convinced otherwise. Your hair is this length for a reason without using tools. I also trim using the very same method you do, and my hair is mid back length, and do not apply heat either. Not to be rude, but sometimes I see broken hairs with certain youtubers using tools, but they will swear up and down it's not the brush they are utilizing and just " shedded hair" (yeah ok!). Do what works for you.
I have that same mask, it is watery on my 4c hair for real. I leave it in for like 30mins with a plastic cap and it does feel nice but I mixed my mask with some oils and whipped it up.
Welcome back 🥳🥳..you were missed.
Wow we got the same hair. Neglected mine and my ends are shit. Every time i touch em, the urge to chop off everything is strong
Welcome back sis!
Congrats on your graduation ❤🎉
Seems like more needed to go
It really does, she still a had a lot that needed to go. Why hold on to dead ends.
@natural academia. Girlll get yo self a proper trim. Life aint that stressfull to get it done. Dont over dramatalize natural functions that humans have done. And its a reason why trims are done straight.... so you ( or professional) can SEE the dead ends PROPER. There is no short cut to education there is no short cut to proper trim ends.
It’s the fact that you titled this as a “cut” when in fact you literally only dusted! your ends is absolutely insane like it wasn’t even a trim 😂 if it’s length over health honey just say that. It’s okay 🤣
no shade to her but when she said she considers this a “cut”I was like 😮😅 ain’t no way
@@hadiyahmuh385 girl it was an immediate side eye for me when she said that 😂 and the “I feel like I’m getting to scissor happy” after snipping off 8 strands of 3mm hairs like LMAOOO she could’ve kept this vid to herself tbh and I promise I’m not being mean it was just such an unserious act that it became funny to me 😂
Congratulations on graduating
Your face, and hair are so beautiful...❤
Like you I don’t clip off my split ends I only trim the uneven parts..
You should go to a professional and let them treat and cut your hair with your products of choice. From there you can continue your care and growth. Truth be told you can't see everything unless your hair is stretched out (blow dryed or pressed).
Omg I’m so mad I missed the live 😩 hope all is well
✨🌷so good to see and hear from you… good on you for taking time out to live life. you were missed! congratulations on your achievements.
✨🌷QUESTION for you (and anyone reading this)…. have you ever considered or tried full sebum coverage haircare, minimal product usage, or water 💦 only hair care? I decided to give it a try and my hair LOVES it (and so does my budget).
✨🌷I was curious how my scalp and hair would feel, and I’m so surprised how it’s working out. I’ve decided to continue it longterm. full sebum coverage was achieved within a couple weeks to a month and my hair is so soft and manageable. itchy irritated scalp is no longer an issue.
✨🌷thank you for checking back in, and for sharing your time here. CHEERS!
How do you do it? I would love to try this method too!
I like the Curls Blueberry Bliss leave in and twisting cream. But I've heard too many mixed reviews about the mask. I've been skipping it. Your hair looks beautiful. You didn't trim a lot at all.
How long we’re supposed to leave the mask in 😂😂😂😂
Love your hair ❤
One thing about you, you are afraid to cut your hair
😂😂. lol. Her cut is hardly a trim
That might be why she doesn’t go to a stylist. It was irking my nerves watching her trim those tiny ends of hair lol.
Also explains why her hair appears thinner
Hello, good to see you again 🎉
Love the video ❤😊
Looks good!
So pretty 💙🥺
Happy Friyay 🥳
I'm happy to say my hair is very similar to yours .
Feel like I’m in this boat but I’m ‘transitioning’ lol letting it grow out.
Missed you❤❤ are you gonna post that live you did I missed it?
I only cut my hair when it’s straight. But if you never straighten your hair I guess you don’t have a choice. 🤷🏾♀️
I have to cut off 6 inches and I’m dreading it
🙏🏽
I want to cut my hair but I'm scared I know I need to
Hello, long time no see❤
You complained the whole video
❤❤❤❤
You cut your hair just like I do lol
Thin not spit
I was not impressed by blueberry bliss either
....But thats not damaged though? i feel like tis video should be called 'cutting the ends of my hair so that sections are the same length' each strand of hair has different growth and death cycles if you have uneven ends or strands that are very long in a section it doesnt always mean damage it just means that you hair strands are growing differently which is normal and cant be changed. You cut off a bunch of healthy strands...
Why are you living in a hotel now?
