How about video game performance, specifically lag? With 6 to 8 hdmi inputs, what do yo think people are plugging in those? One tv, one steamer and a DVD, then multiple video game systems....
Some of these have input lag reduction, although the best bet is to connect your console directly to your TV and use HDMI eARC to get the audio back to your AVR. Thanks for watching

Very good video, I really like all the details about the receivers covered. The only thing I would have liked, is the list of other receivers that your choices have been compared to. Was Arcam compared to Naim or McIntosh? Was the Pioneer compared to Sony or Yamaha? I would have liked to know they are the best compared to what other receivers.
I have a full 7 channel system with 4 in ceiling speakers. However, I am more concerned about great sound that bells and whistles. Given that info, which ones would be the top two I should learn more about?
It is whatever. They all gotta be better, bigger, heavier. Why not just 1 (2 if you must) hdmi in 1 hdmi out, 1 UAC 3.0 (usb-c) in, and 1 sp/dif in, maybe add headphone option with virtual surround, and just ram it in 1/1.5U? 40 watts per channel should be enough. I modded an EPQ304 by breaking open a usb soundcard, tearing out the amp inputs, and putting the usb pcb in place, wiring it up. Perfect for pc use. What I learned: lack of settings is a minus, the fans in the EPQ304 annoy me to no end, it does not look as sleek as a unit built for purpose, you want 24 bit over 16 bit, anything for a lower noisefloor, but that requires you to swap out the fans in the EPQ304 voiding the warranty. That and I prefer flexibility, like adding front heights over front overhead, front wide option over surrounds/back surrounds, speaking of which, neither DTS nor Atmos would ever license for this thing, but MPEG-H 3D would maybe be an option, if no game/film to work with it, yet decoder up on Github. Would need 6 output over 4 though.
These are our favorites that are out right now but there will be new ones released from other brands in the next few months. Stay tuned and we will post more videos when they do!

Top model Marantz SR 8015 is capable of processing up to 13 channels. Also its preamp represents one of the best system in industry. Calibration system is the same as ARCAM ( Dirac live ) same features as Arcam and awesome sound quality as well. And if you add to that Marantz premium- 300W RMS per channel, additional amplifiers, ( just to match the price tag of Arcam), You will get maybe only 13 channels, but much more superior and more powerful sound system. Don’t get me wrong, Arcam is wonderful machine, but for the money maybe that Marantz would be a better option? It’s just my opinion.

If movie watching and atmos surround sound are important, just get a soundbar. Even after spending over a grand for an av receiver and another one or two grand in speakers and installation, there is no guarantee that the system will sound better than some top end soundbars that only costs less than $1500 on sale.
@@bbokdoong high-end soundbars has those bouncy bouncy reflective speakers. Which is basically a somewhat delayed weakened virtual sound! That time delay is likely to throw the sound out. Besides when it comes to 2 channel stereo music, soundbars are unable to compete with stereo speakers. Nevermind the imaging one will never be able to experience stereo separation with a soundbar and if you know a little bit about listening to music speaker placement (+ toeing) is absolutely essential to experience a great sound. But mind you what I will say in favour of soundbars. It's dialogue intelligibility are far more accessible with a average soundbar then with an average budget - mid price AVR, thats unless one is prepared to buy an expensive centre channel with an they're preferably good dynamic range AVR. Otherwise one will be reaching for the remote control every time the Dynamics change. So basically it comes down to budget and Listening habits! If you want it mainly for movies then go with a soundbar but if you like your music more then your movies I would strongly advise going with a AVR. I prob have no idea what I'm saying but I picked up another 3800h today and I seemed to have did what I wanted in auro3D, which is 5.1.6 to 7.1.8. But who knows I have no idea what I'm doing. Just plugged the output of one to the input of the 2nd, messed around in video option to turn monitor 1/2 to activate and I got sound, I already had picture. Then I go to to the speakers plug them in and it works, also the info button shows the channels active as intended. But again I'm prob looking at something wrong. The remote works for both. I can get a 16th channel using the vog of the 2nd avr and 8 subs.
wow, that is a creative Frankenstein system!
I bought a Onkyo 7100 for $800 from Best Buy and bought a four year warranty on top of it before the price trikes. Only thing is now I am the bug and want to get external amplification which I can’t do with the 7100 so I have to move to either a Denon 3800 1600 or Yamaha a6a for 1800
The bug comes on fast 😉

Depends on the size of your home. The Denon is a good model.

Very cool. Onkyo makes some great gear.

How can Anthem be one of the best receivers when it doesn't offer hdmi 2.1 yet. Hdmi 2.1 is a basic feature that has been offered for years and Anthem is still working on it. Give me a break.
You obviously have never heard one and they are all HDMI 2.1 now. And in something very few receiver manufacturers have ever done, if you have an older one without the 8K boards you can upgrade for a fee to the new ones.

If movie watching and atmos surround sound are important, just get a soundbar. Even after spending over a grand for an av receiver and another one or two grand in speakers and installation, there is no guarantee that the system will sound better than some top end soundbars that only costs less than $1500 on sale.
Receiver with 2 speakers will sound better than any soundbar.
@dubious6718 well, have you listened to some of top end soundbars these days? 2ch listening is great for music.
But if need be persevere carry on saving and start with something solid! Otherwise you'll be another one of those persons reaching for the remote control all the time.
So... there is no YAMAHA on the list?..
