I'm a die hard Yamaha fan when it comes to receivers. I have had nothing but Yamaha for the past 20 plus years. That doesn't mean I won't try out another brand at some point but so far the clarity that Yamaha receivers produce is what keeps me with them. Sound quality is more important to me than power with the receiver. You can always add more power but quality of the sound being produced is where it all starts in my opinion.
If you listen to Andrew Robinson he will do his best to try to convince you to buy the RZ50. but in reality? the RZ50 is not in the same league as the Yamaha. which is by FAR a better receiver on any scale. especially if you pick the Yamaha Advantage rx-a6a. even the a4a is still a better buy than the RZ50. many who review audio receivers get paid to promote them. Andrew Robinson is one of them. also, a significant factor is the build quality of the Yamaha. That's a receiver you can count on that will outlast the rest.

I want to get an AVR but I refuse to buy one unless it's confirmed 48 Gbps. I know 48 Gbps isn't that prevalent right now but some things do support it e.g. Nvida RTX 3000 and 4000 and projectors as well as confirmed TVs launching this year and some older models from 2020 and I don't want to fork out a grand on an AVR that will need to be upgraded when the new spec becomes more ubiquitous so I'll just wait. At least if you get a 48 Gbps one then you'll likely be set for 5-10 years. I see getting a 40 Gbps one now as a waste of money if you foresee yourself needing 48 Gbps within the next year or two like I do for myself. My next question would be if anyone knows of any AVRs confirmed to support 48 Gbps??
40 vs 48 gbps is negligible. 10 bit panel vs 12 bit panel full RGB which, I don't care what anyone says, you can't see the difference with the naked eye. Pull the trigger on 40 gbps or wait for the next hdmi standard.
@@tragicanomaly1707 There is more to 48 Gbps than just 10 bit panel vs 12 bit panel and there will be even more in the future too. 4k 144hz for example. I own the Denon AVR-X6700H! It's definitely incredible! I cane from the avr 5700h!both very powerful but the 6700 has better video quality and way more options available! Can't go wrong with this one!
They are excellent AMPS. I don't own one, know someone who does. It's quite nice, and is definitely audiophile territory performance. They just got it. I think it's the 21.
Not impressed with your list. Denon, Onkyo, and Marantz share parts as they are all under the same parent company. I’m in the market for one and doing research. You didn’t include Arcam, Anthem, NAD, and many others. You didn’t even discuss pairings with speakers or how they differ in their processing of signals. To me, this video sounded like you did a search on crutchfield and read off the specs of the ones at or under $2k.
Denon and Marantz are owned by Sound United, whereas Onkyo, Pioneer, and Integra are now owned by a joint venture between VOXX, (who's parent company is Premium Audio Company) and Sharp electronics.
Denon and Marantz receivers and processors are too dark sounding to me. They roll off the high end too much. Yamaha units sound much better, imo. They also generally have a bit more detail, transparency, and fine resolution. I'm surprised this review suggests the Yamaha didn't handle music sources as well as the others. My ears tell me the opposite. Unless Yamaha has really dropped the ball with their most current line, in terms of sound quality, I find Denon and Marantz are 1 or probably 2 steps down. It's obvious they're chasing a so-called "warm" sound. It just doesn't work for me, at least as compared to Yamaha, or even Pioneer Elite.
Best decision I ever made was returning the £2,000 Denon 6500 for the arcam avr20. Nevermind the Denon was unable to make my high-end sonus Faber speakers sound their best. But when listening with the arcam and the movie sound Dynamics change. Mo more having to reach for the remote control 🥳
It's a matter of personal taste. I tried several different brands. I get what everyone likes in the Yamaha, but the high precision detail I hear in them, is a little too processed for my ears. I settled for the warmer sound of the Marantz. It sounded the best for me for two Channel listening, especially in Pure Direct Mode. But hey, it's a great time to be alive in this world of AVR's. Some guys like Chevy, some like Ford. And each individual gets to choose.
SO, how do you pick a product when you don't actually buy and test ? Any channel that just has affiliate links hoping to snag a click isn't "legit" ...
I have one and it is indeed a beast!! I had an Onkyo RZ 820 and it had no issues either. I needed an upgrade to 5.1 4 and the RZ50 was a steal . I believe it went up 200 bucks shortly after I purchased mine.
It was 2007 when i bought Yamaha RX-V459 for 260€. In 2023 i got Denon AVR-S660H for 500€ bc of hdmi. I loved his design and options. But hdmi board died after a month. Even after 2 months, Denon never sent new parts so i got refund. Now im back to Yamaha RX-V459. Not sure what to buy... New Yamaha is very ugly and impedance is only 8ohms. Denon seems to have all options like earc, wifi, 6-8ohms, nice speaker terminals...Prices are ridiculous today and no spare parts !! I feel like i live in Russia and not Europe.
To many bells & whistles! Keep it simple, it's about the music. My old Onkyo has been running non stop for 20 yrs. flawlessly. A recently added dac was a game changer.
Denon sucks! The ones with audyssey are trash, I've had them, and they sounded very processed. Yamaha is the better one here, cause YPAO is impler to use and sounds better for music, but also better with the movies. Also, Denon tends to overheat a lot, I had the X2300W, which kept on a chair heated quickly, that too with only the 2 speakers hooked up (Left/RIght). Sold it and bought a Yamaha RX-A1080 and I'm much happier since 2020.
All receivers are largely rubbish these days. Too slow switching between inputs, and ARC still doesn't work properly. You can't even adjust treble and bass manually on most of them!! Its incredible how many millions of consumers buy AV Receivers and then quickly realise how many glitches there are with them.
Why isn’t the Sony 7000 series from the ES range not in this list , this is one of the best receivers of 2023 3 denon’s in the list is ridiculous and reeks of denon sponsoring Concluding : totally ridiculous and unrealistic test
There were plenty of Onkyo models that had bad HDMI boards. They were so bad, Onkyo had a program for sending them in and they would repair them. Thousands and thousands of them. Mine had the same dead HDMI but they said it wasn’t based on my serial number.
I had Denon, got into issues and service centre asked more price than the purchase price. Also with Denon I can’ t able watch movies peacefully. No clarity when it comes to watch movies: This jan 2023, I bought Yamaha rx v4A , I felt the sound clarity is too good. Now Denon feels like junk to me. Music also good with Yamaha. Denon was like Dum Dum Dum. Not high clarity in voice. Only bass bass !! I felt I made good choice by getting Yamaha instead of repairing Denon. Prices of Denon is increased by 3 times in India … 🫢🫢🫢

I like my Yamaha -Outlaw - Klipsch system,9.4.6 room size 26Lx18Wx14H. Sounds like a real theatre. Cheers 🍻 Eh 😎
hdmi 2.1 4k/120hz problem in 2020 is fix now?
Nice video good graphics good Pace nice and tight keep it up
I think you mean best mid priced AVRs
Some of them might class them as high end but they certainly don't produce a high-end sound!
I have the denon AVR-X8500HA
What do you think of Arcam .I have an avr20 ?
I want to know about ARCAM too!
They are excellent AMPS. I don't own one, know someone who does. It's quite nice, and is definitely audiophile territory performance. They just got it. I think it's the 21.
Why only use the supplied microphone with the Onkyo controller app?
Marantz 6015 is not a 2023 receiver. Sony new 2023 line of receivers, STR-AZ7000ES/STR-AZ5000ES are not mentioned!
Denon x2800h the best!
No pre outs on half of them.. Absolutely ridiculous.
Yamaha is the best receiver for music and movies.
But Yamahas don’t even have Auro 3D
@@JonMoralesLA A8A has, the only thing it doesn't have is IMAX Enhanced and DIRAC
@@JonMoralesLA Also A6A has Auro 3D
Onkyo receiver repair location pls mention.
Fuck onkyo ! I took my 6 months old tx-nr6100 to the shop in my area and they did not even want to look at it 😒
Only out of business?
No there not
My uncle Ned said if you want the best receiver money can buy, Buy an Apple receiver. So I bought a Macintosh amp and wow, just wow!
Buh dum tsss. 😂
@bootneylee9802 what's that now?
Denon is number one the best!
AVC-X6700H is the 8k amplifier not AVR-X6700H
IN BOTH CASES NICLELBACK STILL SUCKS !!
No love for Sony...? That's all I ever had.
I BOUGHT A NEW DENON RECEIVER AND NICLELBACK STILL SUCKS !!
Yamaha strong! 💪
Going with the rz50
I have one! It's a BEAST!!
I have one and it is indeed a beast!! I had an Onkyo RZ 820 and it had no issues either. I needed an upgrade to 5.1 4 and the RZ50 was a steal . I believe it went up 200 bucks shortly after I purchased mine.
Excellent bro , I want purchase the new AV Receiver, clear my view by your explain.
THANKS
It would have to be the Marantz AV stereo amplifier
I had tried DENON but finally returned it and got yamaha back. don‘t ask me why?
Is Technique still in business?
They just came out with new models. I have 20 yr technics and it still delivers 😅
Is this a review or a Denon commercial? Where are the real specialists, Argon, Nad etc.?
Whats up DENON X4700H ?
Marantz AV10 and AMP 10 ?
Denon = the best
I think McIntosh is better
To many bells & whistles! Keep it simple, it's about the music. My old Onkyo has been running non stop for 20 yrs. flawlessly. A recently added dac was a game changer.
who's buying a multi-channels for music?? that's being dumb! better off just buying a stereo 2 channel amp at that point
What brand or model DAC did you add...? I was looking into them.
@@troy8736 The Schiit, nice little unit.
I concur.
All receivers are largely rubbish these days. Too slow switching between inputs, and ARC still doesn't work properly. You can't even adjust treble and bass manually on most of them!! Its incredible how many millions of consumers buy AV Receivers and then quickly realise how many glitches there are with them.
Rz50 all day long Dirac live
Sony STR-AZ7000ES
Why isn’t the Sony 7000 series from the ES range not in this list , this is one of the best receivers of 2023
3 denon’s in the list is ridiculous and reeks of denon sponsoring
Concluding : totally ridiculous and unrealistic test
Yamaha.... !
Marantz Cinema 50
I have an like Marantz. Next I will go McIntosh though.
Yamaha
Anthem
your video just advertisements
Wow no pioneer
What is with these lame so called reviews? It's just some person reading a script in a recording room laid on top of this video !
USELESS !!!
👍👍😎✌️🤟
Onkyo has a lot of issues! I have one that only lasted for 6 months....on RUclips there's a lot of Onkyo owners asking for help. No thanks.!
The rz50?
I have never had an issue with my Onkyo receivers. Sorry you had problems but the Onkyo RZ 50 is the best av receiver you can buy in my opinion.
Depends on the model/series. I've had the Onkyo tx-nr 646 for 6 years and it still purrs like a kitten.
I have the Rz50 and it's great! Had an Onkyo previously for 7 years and no issues.
There were plenty of Onkyo models that had bad HDMI boards. They were so bad, Onkyo had a program for sending them in and they would repair them. Thousands and thousands of them. Mine had the same dead HDMI but they said it wasn’t based on my serial number.
Dennon is trash . I’ve never had a problem with Onkyo.
Denon a1h and Dali epicon. 👍🏻
whats the denon like ?
...to many speakers are not a option anymore...
We need something to hook all channels in 1 payroll speakers...
(To many speakers)
SONY NEW SERIES ROCKS!!!!
The Sony ES
I had Denon, got into issues and service centre asked more price than the purchase price. Also with Denon I can’ t able watch movies peacefully. No clarity when it comes to watch movies:
This jan 2023, I bought Yamaha rx v4A , I felt the sound clarity is too good.
