little tip for you when you get stuck like on them rocks or on a step or in deep mud: rev the bike with clutch in for2-3 secs, then at same time as pushing throttle forward you release the clutch - basically you will be building up load in the flywheel which then allows the bike to surge forward without use of the throttle and you can then catch the torque via clutch and tiny bit of throttle allowing you to crawl over shit that is icy, make sure throttle is going off as the clutch is being released - we use it in enduro, classic trick

Look up Chris Birchs 'say no to slow' course for adv bikes, I saw you mention getting over the front when accelerating and back when braking... That's one of the car park drills on his course.

whatever we do in enduro , attack position, separate up down body, elbows up, balls of feet on peg,, clutch control, etc... there is an enormous elephant in the room : momentum and speed. Once you get them , not being afraid of crashes consequences (which are real) you will fly and climb over everything. Eve o enduro bike, i try and try, sometimes I succeed to shut my brain sanity and fly over ruts and mud like a surfer ;)
Worst is to be in between two paces, the very slow one pedaling like a duck, controlling traction and the fast one with speed.
Of course this is exactly what we, week end warriors do, in between 20 and 40 kmh ;)
Do yourself a favor, put really super soft enduro tires and go !!!.
They won't last long but will help you get a lot confidence and progress.
I wish you the best rides

Good stuff. When it gets hard - send it. There's plenty of room in the landfills for smashed T7 parts 😀 I know, it's easier said than done. It takes a while to learn to hold onto the momentum in the face of a threat.

I think the T7 is too tall and heavy for people new to trail riding. It'll do it by all means, as it's a capable machine, but a smaller, lighter bike will be much easier and less tiring to build up skills and confidence. Trouble is, a smaller, lighter bike with good off road tyres will be an arse to ride to and from the trails. That's the dilemma, especially in the UK.

Elbows up, hands pointed at your front wheel, hold throttle between thumb and fingers, other fingers on clutch and front brake. Forward on the saddle. Balls of feet on pegs. You have to be actively steering, rather than passive. You can’t ride like you’re on road with relaxed arms parallel to bars.

The Outdoor Active app has a setting for finding green lane routes. It relies on people with the app recording their route and then uploading it, but I’d be surprised if the TET wasn’t on it. As far as I remember the app is free but you pay for access to things like OS maps.
