Great video, Salter fell looks a decent lane that could tackle on any bike, might have to add it to the list of ones I want to visit on the Multistrada. Also been considering joining TRF as want to find more lanes that are suitable for the bigger bikes.

Hi Mate, I’m part of the Peak District trf and I think it’s well worth the money for the green lane map alone. It’s a good community of mostly older very capable riders. There’s plenty of larger bikes within the group so many of the organised rides are planned accordingly. I’ve got a T7 like yours and am round the Rotherham area so get around the Buxton lanes etc.
Thanks for the great content really enjoy it👍

Greetings again. Another enjoyable and informative video. I like hearing your commentary and thought process as you ride, plenty of tips and reminders on how to ride. It is always good to get some professional training for sure ( I had some one to one a few years ago) but you can't beat experience and finding out what works best for you! I would however recommend a day's experience at Inch Perfect Trials in Bowland. Amazing what one can do on a proper trials bike, but can be carried over to trail riding. Trials riders are real athletes though, I was absolutely knackered at the end of the day. A full body workout! I could hardly walk afterwards, I was glad I took the car... and therein lies a Top Tip. Tackling trails is a real physical and mental activity and you can get into real trouble if you are tired and /or unfit and the trail turns nasty. I did the Salter Fell on my Voge 300 Rally in the rain and was challenged by falling off, with no one around at the time to help. The bike is not too heavy and I landed well, but it was a reminder that it does not take much to spoil your day. That and all those gates! Yes you're right to shut them too.
I joined the TRF a couple of years ago and although I have not yet ridden with any groups, it is a worthwhile group to belong to. It seems to be a well run organisation, with a great magazine full of
well written articles covering bike reviews, conservation updates and other relevant features. I don't think it really matters what bike you ride as long as you ride it considerably, a point underlined frequently in the TRF. They are in various partnerships with local groups to help maintain green lanes and they welcome your reporting any issues or repairs needed to any lanes you ride. Membership also gives you access to The Green Map, which shows all the green lanes open to ride and just as importantly the lanes which are closed, subject to a TRO and must not be ridden. Lanes are getting closed all the time , so we are all ambassadors and need to ride accordingly, green lanes are not enduro tracks. Cheers!

@@clunkygearbox Eyup pal, and thanks for your comment. Yes I have heard of inch perfect and we are on course to book a day there, coincidentally it’s round the corner from Twin Brook Road, I rode past it as I was heading to Salter Fell! And I will be joining the TRF soon, and hopefully getting some riding done with the local group. Glad you like the videos and thanks for watching 👍💪

Hi pal, Trf is well worth joining as youll get to join rides that give you more knowledge and new places to ride , it is very Enduro bike based but ive found it ok for Adv bikes , i joined 18 months ago when i bought my first T7 , then went crf 300, then Husky 450 and now back to a T7 again . Just be patient if you join as the big bike scene is slower to develop in my experience, i ride with North wales Trf and the big bike scene has exploded recently 👍, you can join a few groups like lancashire, manchester, wales ect si your not stuck with just your region. I have a few vids on my channel with the T7

@@bikehubjapan They might be a bit too road bias, and you might struggle on some of the loser stuff. I’m on Michelin Anakee Wilds at the moment they’re pretty good all round, but a bit sketchy in the wet on tarmac as you’d expect!
