  • TopTes Tools sent me this gas sniffer to test out. It seemed to work on just about anything combustible I tried on it. I'd call it a must have if you live in house that is natural gas or propane heated, gas washer and dryer, gas stove, etc, etc, etc. Lots of places that a slow leak can develop.
    I remember going into my garage a few winters ago to get my snowblower out and as soon as I opened the door I could swear I cold smell natural gas. My wife couldn't smell it and I convinced myself It was all in my head. Went to put the snowblower back and now it really smelled like gas! I ended up calling the gas company and they sent a guy out. Had to shut the power of and manually raise the overhead door to air it out before he could even use his detector to locate the leak. Once it cleared out he found the leak within a minute. Ended up costing me $500 for the service and repair call. I could have bought the $95 part and installed it myself if I knew what was leaking.

    Awesome Bruce🎸《☆》Wow Some newer Communities here are plumbed for Natural gas🔥Nice Tool👍It reminds me of a Refrigerant Sniffer. My Boss got a whole case of 30 year old military surplus Sniffers for $20. They didn't come with batteries😁They would detect about anything including odorless Freon. I found a 17 year old GI Joe toy in my Sons room the other day. It still has the original no name Chinese batteries in it & they're still good🖖😎☮

      I bought a bunch of Geiger counters from a military surplus store years ago. I don't know why I bought them other than them being cool. I don't recall exactly what ever happened to them either. That's pretty impressive about the no name batteries still being good!

      Definitely. I keep all my gas cans in a storage bench/planter I built years ago. I do keep a little gas can in the garage for the pressure washer and of course mini bikes!

    I bought one and it's extremely sensitive. But there's a tip in the manual you didn't notice, it says "Oral gas is not recommended as a test gas for the detector, as high-humidity oral gas can cause false positives for the sensor".🧐

    • @BruceLyeg
      @BruceLyeg  2 года назад

      I'm gonna assume that "oral gas" means breath? 😳
