I empathise with the man stripping the labels off as I did the same for some 6 thousand bottles for a home project and then used bench shears to shred them!
I wonder why they tear off the labels on plastic bottles. They're made of plastic,, too, and most recycle centers here in the US don't remove them, just let them go in, too. Dude is a champ, though, with all those flies and working with removing the labels. Bravo to him for being committed.
Love seeing the padlocks being made and glad to see a variation of key levering and cuts, but I dont know where they hid the other 4 or 5 leavers to make the 10 lever locks. its a big shame such a fantastic hand made product and its all spoilt with the lie on the box (10 levers) 😞
There is a reason why these locks stopped being made in the Victorian era. Because there were to individual independent tumblers that prevented the lock from being opened with a single pick with e 90-degree bend in it. this lock is so easy to pick that it might as well not even be there. the only people it is going to stop is the honest people, criminals look at that and laugh. As for the knife at the end of the video. the technique used to create the knife is barely above amateur level, the hydraulic press being used is being used upside down and using the body of the press as the anvil which will eventually end up breaking the press and the steel put on the end of the chain for the cutting edge is not only put on wrong, but it was obvious that he was having an issue with it as a result of being done wrong, the hammer he was using was both too small, and the wrong kind of hammer with an inappropriate shaped head , thus making the hammering ineffective for proper forge welding. The once the "blade" was being finished the cold shuts can be clearly seen in the blade steel and cracks as well. then dipping the blade, with cold shuts in it into a water and acid mix will only weaken the forge weld and make the blade fail sooner rather than later. in other words, apart from the plastic being cut up for recycle almost everything being made in this video is junk.

The locks are excellent - sturdy and with care will last for years. But toxic dangerous working conditions, skill levels aside will result in early death rates.
So how much recycling do *you* do George? Do you process this much out of *your* plastics? Be grateful you live in a country where this stuff is taken for granted.
Those guys are not independently wealthy. They are working for like $1 an hour. They are not doing this for the fun of it. Just Google plastic recycling economic: Typical entry: Recycling is an energy-intensive process that becomes more costly as additional steps such as post-consumer selection and washing are added. The new plastic is still relatively cheap to produce and creates a competitive environment in which added costs to the process make recycled plastic significantly more expensive. @@MQJ007
B&Q sells them . Don't use them to lock anything of value as I had a lock like this and was picked open by some scum bags. Yes fair play to these guys .
If you can drill the shackle then file and bend it on an anvil it is not hardened. They would be so easy to break you would not need to pick it. So as you say don't use it to protect anything valuable. A few hammer blows and I think it would be open. I have seen it done on better padlocks than that several times at work when people have gone without unlocking their locker.

Where your recycled plastic comes from:
You have ten guys and $200,000 of equipment making maybe $25 of plastic scrap an hour. Can they even break even?
