THANK YOU for doing video editing comparisons. Nearly everyone only covers games... And YES the real time playback in Premiere is a major component imo. I've currently been using a system that i built 8 years ago, upgraded the cpu and gpu about 3 years ago. Currently its got a 770 super with an amd 3800xt 32gb ram. I am upgrading to a new system with amd 9 9950x, 32gb ram, and a 4070 ti super. Sooo looking forward to it, as I've spent so much time for issues with playback/editing in the timeline, and even premiere just locking up/freezing and crashing for seemingly stupid reasons. like importing a sound effect, or just having the "wrong" bin open believe it or not.
Should have ported the timeline over to resolve and also checked... adobe favours the CPU in all their software however resolve utilises the gpu for render so that would have been interesting to see its performance differences
I was expecting a massive jump out of the 4070ti in video encoding. That it doesn't, answer my question... no, I'm not doing this upgrade. Encode performance matters more to me than decode. Anything can decode. And I encode way more than the final time. Lots of interim encodes along the way. Sony Movie Studio / Sony Vegas. Disappointing the 4070ti is really no leap at all. I mean, my 3070 is overclocked so... yeah, I could probably smoke the 4070 ti out of the box. Looks like the card to target is the 3090 until the 4090 plummets to under $500. Or just wait for the 50 series.

Hello, my friend. Thank you for the video. I also edit in premiere. What upgrade would you recomend? I now have a 5600X + 32GB 3600 RAM + 6700XT Upgrade 1. 5900XT + 7900XTX (keep the MOBO and RAM) Upgrade 2. 9900X + 64GB 5600 RAM (keep the 6700XT) Help Please!
I'm new to your channel, My takeaway is that although you want to have great quality and make professional videos, I think judging by your content descriptions and thumbnails (Like i said I'm new), I would think that you should just be recording in 1080p or 1440p if you must, and upscale. I understand your desire to look the best it can, yolo, but I've seen many many videos on "Can you spot the difference" And to be completely honest, I have a 4k Lg c2 Oled tv and buy 4k bluerays and place the 1080p blue rays in after I'm done and really struggle to see the difference. I can sometimes in some shots, but in other shots I can't. But that's million dollar movies! We are watching youtube casual viewing content. If you want to, by all means, edit 4k video, but I'm just sayin, we can all save a little time and $ just recording at a lower resolution. lighting and lenses make more of an impact then the resolution. You have a nice set up, I bet you could switch and no one would notice.. :)
I have a question: I need a video card for editing in Premiere Pro and Davinci Resolve but I can't make a choice. Should I get an *ARC770* with a hardware support of QuickSynch and AV1 (they say it works very fast and smooth) OR an *RTX4060* with CUDA cores and stable drivers which is reliable but has only 8Gb and a "narrow" memory bus? They also suggest me to get a used *RTX3080* 10Gb but I doubt it'd be as effective in 2024 as it consumes lots of power? I am not a professional editor, just a RUclips video blogger with ambitions to make documentaries.
If you are on After Effects, then definitely. Because, after effects loads the previews in RAM. So more RAM is definitely better there. However, on premiere pro it depends on the size (resolution + bitrate) of the footage you are working with. If you are working with Full HD footage, it should be fine. If 4K, single layer, should be fine. But if it's 10-bit footage, then you might want to consider 32 GB RAM because frames get heavier and more complex to solve/render in real time. Let me tell you the best way to figure this out...open your resource monitor (performance tab in task manager) and hit play on your premiere pro timeline. Check your RAM utilization. If it is constantly hitting 100% - then you know you need to upgrade. No point guessing!
Amazing video! Need more of these for more cards :) The RTX 4070 Super is suspected to be announced at CES 2024 in Jan.and released in Feb for $599. It should have 16gb of Ram. Also suspected are 4080 Super, 4090 Super. Nvidia is not suspected to release 5000x series until late 2024 or spring 2025
So im planning to buy a 12700f and a rtx 4070. Is the cpu good for video editing or it lags while editing?, and maybe i'll buy an rx 7800 xt, is it a huge difference between it and the 4070 in editing. Thanks.
Hi beautiful video . am using gear fit 2 pro now wanted to upgrade to a watch which has excellent fitness tracking abilities esp hr. as I am android user, I shortlisted Huawei gt 3 pro, garmin forerunner or venue/instinct 2 and galaxy watch 4. if you have any idea can suggest which is good thx. And what are your thoughts on this model would u recommend
Brother, can you please tell me which graphics card will be ideal for me for both high end gaming and high end 3d art which includes 3d modeling, texturing, sculpting and rendering? I have an i7 12700K@4.9 GHZ, corsair vengeance 32 GB DDR4 RAM, 1 TB SSD and my entire PC system has an air-cooling system as I can't afford the liquid cooling due to high cost and leakage issues. I had gone for the RTX 4060 TI 16 GB but many RUclips videos are telling that it's not worth it. So, will the RTX 4070 TI good for me or the 4080? Yes, I want the optimum 4k gaming performance as well for it's realism and I can't afford the RTX 4090 as well due to high cost and cable melting issues. So, please advice me. I really hope that you won't ignore my request. I had asked this question in many RUclips videos comment box but didn't get any desired reply. Thank you in advance.
Does upgrading will make the quality better? I'm using GTX 1650 but the output videos I edit loses its quality. Hopefully I can export them and the video would look almost the same as the original source.
Facing the same idenitcal idea... should I upgrade my new 3070 to a 4070ti just for the video encode. I can tell yout his... skip nvme drives an dupgrade to 128 or 192gb of ram and make a dynamic ram disk with ImDisk. Put all yor project input and output on there... you know it's going to be faster than even nvme 5.0. Once I found ImDisk I was like yes... finally ramdisk software that works right.

Just built a pc last month with Windows 11 pro 13th gen i7 13700k, 1gb SSd, 64gb of ram and the 4070ti eagle oc and all of my video editing softwares keep crashing. Any idea what I need to change?
@@mysteriousone6996 Yessir, I finally got it figured out. I initially built the computer with 32gb but added 32 more about a week later. It was showing that the new ram was installed correctly after installing it, but apparently it was not because all I did was take all the ram out and reinstalled it and now it's working perfectly. No crashes for the last couple weeks, so I think that fixed the issue.
Thank you! Finally someone addessed VIDEO EDITING rather than gaming! Exactly what I was looking for.

I like how scientific your graphics are. From slow to very fast. Not like those boring numbers, where you can see exact rendering time, for example..
i'm not really worried about real time playback because i usually create proxies in 240 resolution for editing and goes smooth! ♥
Should have ported the timeline over to resolve and also checked... adobe favours the CPU in all their software however resolve utilises the gpu for render so that would have been interesting to see its performance differences
Thank you. I was looking to upgrade this week. Wonderful 👍❤

Fantastic analysis. I am surprised but not surprised in some way that 3070 was better than 4070 in exports.
Should I pick 7900 GRE or 4070 Super for video editing on Davinci Resolve? I'm gonna do professional work.

could u tell me if the 4070 super is better than 3080ti for editing, please?

can anyone explain how it slower in AE.. was this fixed with a firmware update with NVidia or adobe?
I think it just comes down to how fast your memory bus is. Playback uses memory and faster memory = faster playback.
