Anxious to see more videos of it when you get a chance to post! I just purchased a yellow 99 STX , mainly bought for trailer but owner said it supposedly had an electrical issue to her knowledge. Wasn't a bad deal for $350 since she had paperwork on ski and trailer. Again, my main reason for buying was for the trailer. Think I may try to tinker with the ski and see if I can get it to run. The paint's pretty bad, it's starting to crack and spider web. I'm gonna try to do a video of it this weekend. If you have any pointers I'm willing to listen, don't know much about these. I also bought a 01 SeaDoo GTX two years ago, only took it out twice. It ran perfect, I hope it still will, haven't cranked it in a year.
Just go in order of operations, get a new battery, check if the engine turns over. If it does, check compression. If it doesn’t, figure out why. If you have compression then check for spark. If you’ve got spark then re do the whole fuel system
Just got one of those free with the trailer... that sport tourer badge is factory cause it’s on mine.. gonna try and get mine going next week.. it’s been under cover in a carport for 4 years.
I did finish fully restoring it. It was hard to make videos because of the aggravation from it but I will make an update video saying every problem I found. The electrical problem ended up being the ground wire going into the voltage regulator was corroded off. This ground actually was a ground for the starter solenoid itself. I will try to make a video this weekend.
@@jetskirehab750 I was really lookin forward to an update video for this ski. I almost bought the same one but he wanted too much. How did this all work out?
@@user-ej1bq4bq2w I should have made one! It eventually had some weird bug I chased. Got it fixed after many many hours and it ran great the few times I rode it. Sold it about a month ago for $2300
@@jetskirehab750 The one I almost bought had a brand new engine from sbt, but it was filthy and he wanted 2500 negotiable. Ended up with a 96 spx for 1500 early last summer and its been good to me. Just did the pump with new bearings and everything after a stripped drive shaft and impeller because of mis-aligned engine. Rode great for a yr then lost propulsion first time out this yr, then it jump started itself being towed back and blew the mpem. New impeller, drive shaft, mpem, gas tank, fuel lines (motion pro), selector, and rebuilt pump. Should be good for a while. How fast are those 1100's? It would def be nice to have some more storage lol
May have to end up doing it. I already hate these carbs. I’ve cleaned them to be spotless and all diaphragms are in good shape. So far I’ve found cooling blockages, tore up wires, a massive crack in the exhaust, and a bad fuel pump
@@jetskirehab750 yep dealing with a customers right now. Keeps over heating and limited speed. Brand new rebuild tho and rebuilt the carbs 5 times. Stuck them in chem dip and ultra sonic. Same shit
@@krotchlickmeugh627 ouch. I’d rather part this thing out. The engine is great it pressure tests fine and has 125 psi compression each cylinder. I could get 1200 for it by itself.
Been watching for one of these the past week. Plus the upside is, boating season is bout over and ppl post stuff for cheap this time of year!
I’ve got a 98. Really fun with the 3 cylinder 2 stroke they have

I have 2 of these ! So much fun !!
Really wanna learn more about these skis... a few people have said to try find one...
It was a great ski, wish I never sold it

That’s awesome! Turns out mine needs a total engine tear down to re gasket it. Haven’t posted many videos lately I’ve been super busy
i love my STX 1100 i posted some videos!
New sub , great channel man
Did you ever do any maintenance on it? I have the same one with similar electrical issues. I'd like to see more videos on this one.

anyone have runs about half speed I got a motor for one will buy it ,also need carb parts
Better start with a set of carbs. Literally the worst carbs kawasaki ever did. Hence why this was the only year they used them

The 97 1100 or the yamaha 1200 gp carbs work
