Vivek Ramaswamy: 'I've drawn more policy contrasts from Trump than probably most other candidates'

  • Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy claimed that he is "an unapologetic America-first, pro-American conservative." In an exclusive interview with Aziz Haniffa, the Indian American entrepreneur said, "I can tell you flat out that I'm not going to take a cabinet position or any second-best position; I'm running to lead this nation."
    Ramasway also praised Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that he has "India has prospered economically" under Modi and the GDP growth is "the ultimate metric of a truly successful, unifying leader." He said, "I do think that he's been [an] outstanding leader of India. I think what we need in the United States and what we can learn from that experience is ... Modi as a leader ... does not apologize for Indian national identity. What we need in the United States is a U.S. President who stands proudly for American National identity. The current president in the White House, I do not think, meets that standard."

      Has he Identity a crisis or made one up? I don't understand his overzealousness with the youth. For example, to put conditions on their ability to vote is an overreach and continues to exhibit a pattern of someone who does not recognize their own limitations.

      @iamhumanfirst2020
      My understanding is that Vivek sees that when only 16% of young adults vote, when a survey indicates that 60% of teenagers would prefer to give up voting than give up Tik-Tok, and when there is a recruitment deficit in the military, there is a crisis in patriotism. He proposes having 18 year olds have to pass the same test that immigrants have to take to become a citizen if they wan to vote befoe age 25; his argument is that people do not value something that they do not work for. This is not something that a president can do on his own. He suggests that it be a constitutional amendment. Even if it does not pass, it will create a lot of discussion about what things should be our civic responsibilities.

    • @user-zg9oo5bj4f
      @user-zg9oo5bj4f 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@KarenLewis-mu1ud Umm, no. If an American citizen chooses not to vote, that is their right. They don't have to explain their reasons. Right now, two established political parties go into a conference (or a convention) and decide which name goes on the ballot for the Democratic and Republican parties. Richard Nixon? Hillary Clinton? Al Gore? A sensible person decides they don't want to vote for either of the two names at the top of the ballot. Ramaswamy is playing his usual Ego game. "No one is as smart as I am. They should have to pass a test that I make up before they can vote." More Ramaswamy nonsense.

    • @iamhumanfirst2020
      @iamhumanfirst2020 11 месяцев назад +2

      @@KarenLewis-mu1ud Yes. I have heard all the reasoning behind it (well most of them). And a lot of them doesn't make sense. For example, High School graduates have already taken a Civics course before graduating. They may have forgotten but most have. Why single out this one subject. He needs to find other ways to motivate the youth besides taking away or limiting their rights.
      This whole initiative has the characteristic of an Authoritarian.

      @americangirl8970 There are 50 million children that are in K-12 schools. Exactly who is going to train 50 million personal coaches for each of these students like you suggested? You also did not answer my other question. Who is going to pay for these personal coaches?
