I have always wanted a stand mixer, I am a very avid baker (in my mom's kitchen) and dream of being a baker one day. However the only baking appliance I own is an old beat up hand mixer. Anne is one of my favorite baking you tubers because she doesn't own a bakery and didn't go to culinary school she learned from experience and the Internet. She is truly my inspiration.
I do not understand how she or anyone hasn't came out with edible sticks and edible supports or base that helps the cake from squashing it all down... instead of using wooden sticks and cardboard base? Make the whole cake edible?? Feel like this cake would be hard cutting into with all these wooden sticks in the way. Idk.

im late to the post, but i was thinking the same for every episode i watched the last few days.the argument above (bellow) that it would turn moist and bend is wrong since there is a lot of edible stuff thats not taking up liquid like chocolate or gelatin covered sugar sticks. pretty sure there are even better industrial material like food additives that would work even better. i guess people are just used to use plastic and the need is so small that no one had the idea to produce them (yet). my concern is that kids dont know about those supports and may cut a piece by force and swallow it. happend to me as a kid with a toothpick in a bought sandwich.

just cut around them it will make cake-sized pieces meaning triangle pieces while leaving the dowels and cake boards there
