Now the active ingreients are removed, dentists were complaining to the new owners but they refused to change it to how it was before. Look at other options. Rip off company now, living on it's past performance and still claiming #1.

Be careful with the type of humidifier you use. Find one that uses steam or evaporates the water. The type that uses ultrasonics to atomize the water puts any minerals that are in the water into the air which means you are also breathing them into your lungs as well as the water. This can’t be good for you. You will know if you have an atomizer type because you will eventually see the minerals coating your furniture with a white layer that being the minerals themselves.

When you mouth breath you REDUCE the amount of NITRIC OXIDE that you would normally produce by nasal breathing or normal NOSE breathing while sleeping. Nitric Oxide, helps with airflow to the lungs & that increases oxygen uptake in the blood. Nitric oxide also plays a part in lowering blood pressure.

I sleep more than I did before, but I still look shot out some mornings and I still have deep circles under my eyes. But, my husband doesn't complain about my snoring anymore, so for that reason I would endorse it for others.

Xerostomia is Greek-based. Latin doesn't generally use the letter "x" unless it's a loan word. We pronounce the first X like a Z because English speakers struggle to start words with a "ks" sound.
Also, I've been taping my mouth for about the last six months. It's not a foolproof solution--sometimes I'll still manage a little rumbly snore, and sometimes I'll pull the tape off during the night, and sometimes I'm too congested to breathe through my nose so I need to leave the tape off. However! It's made the biggest difference in my sleep. The first night, I woke up two hours earlier than normal, completely awake and energized. And that's been the norm for me ever since. I need less sleep and have more energy. It's great. Try putting a little lip balm on your lips beforehand so they stay moisturized and the tape doesn't stick to that part of them.

@@busynana7917 You can get them at CVS in the toothpaste/Dry Mouth section, or Amazon.
They come in a pack of 40 small tablets, that you stick to any part of the inside of your mouth.
Once they are there, they stay put, and slowly dissolve over night, stimulating saliva.
You don't even notice them in your mouth and you won't choke on them, they stay put.
They were recommended by my dentist because they prevent tooth decay and even
make you wake up with fresh breath.
But make sure you buy the name brand: Xyli melts, NOT the CVS generic ones.
The CVS ones dissolve in like an hour & are bigger.
The Xylimelts last several hours & are smaller, and stick in place better.

Another point, i noticed the CVS version of Act Dry Mouth mouthwash, actually works better
      than Act, itself.
I gargle with that before bed, and unlike Biotene or Act, it coats for more than 20 minutes.
I had terrible insomnia hit me out of nowhere last Summer, which lead to this awful
dry mouth situation, after a few hours trying to crash.
I'm still dealing with sleep issues, but the dry mouth seems way less severe.

I have been mouth taping for several years. It is true that if you use scotch tape or a Band-Aid eventually your mouth tissue/lips will suffer. However, it is very effective to control mouth breathing at night and everything that Bob and Brad related. You can get some skin sensitive tape and I believe 3M makes skin sensitive tapes. I personally use something called SleepStrips by SomniFix which, while a little pricey, ( about $20 per month) have worked very effectively for me for the past two years. Dentists are a good go to source but there’s a lot of good information on mouth taping on the web.

  • @judithanntoole8900

Had dry mouth as Brad describes because of medication. I bought Biotene. Recommended by my dental hygienist.
It comes in a small spray bottle and a large bottle...which I refill the spray bottle with. This product contains enzymes that cause saliva production.
At bedtime and occasionally through the night I spray a small amount on my front teeth. Then I move it with my tongue between the fronts of my teeth and cheek, it will cause saliva to “slowly” seep into my mouth through the night. If you spray it into an open mouth you will just have a ton of saliva that you have to swallow all at once and just need more Biotene.
This has been a lifesaver for me. My apologies for the odd details but it works best this way. I’m a Canadian, so I did some homework and checked, and you can get this in the US. I didn’t just wing it like a couple of guys we know 😉...and love. Thanks for all the great content you bring us Bob and Brad.

When you talked about how bad your mouth was in the morning, so dry and can't even get a word out - you seriously might need the cpap - I argued w my Dr. and put it off for months and months and made them do it twice - really didn't believe them. BUT, though dealing with the pillow issues and sleeping differently my health is SO much better - I can't do without my machine and I don't have that awful dry mouth in the morning and I can actually drink a glass of water in the middle of the night without gasping...esophagus gets all stretched out, and your heart and brain, basically all your body suffers from sleep apnea. :) God bless, just get it checked bud :)! p.s. sorry people complain about your chit chat - they obviously haven't gotten to the point me and your other faithful followers have that we LOVE and enjoy and look forward to your commentary - you're family in this house!!

May I ask how old you both are, because you talk frequently about "our age" and age-related issues, but I don't know your ages.

Broken hearts hurt for a while. Remember the making of lemon aide out of lemons. The pain will ease with time. You are not alone. We have, most of us, experienced a broken heart and made it through. You will too. This is part of the human experience. Life is beautiful- even when it hurts!
