Be careful with the type of humidifier you use. Find one that uses steam or evaporates the water. The type that uses ultrasonics to atomize the water puts any minerals that are in the water into the air which means you are also breathing them into your lungs as well as the water. This can’t be good for you. You will know if you have an atomizer type because you will eventually see the minerals coating your furniture with a white layer that being the minerals themselves.

I have sleep apnea and I have all the symptoms. That you talked about. Have a new symptom now. When I get ready to go to sleep and I'm relaxed and soon as I go to sleep I start snoring and I wake myself up because I can hear myself snoring.
When you mouth breath you REDUCE the amount of NITRIC OXIDE that you would normally produce by nasal breathing or normal NOSE breathing while sleeping. Nitric Oxide, helps with airflow to the lungs & that increases oxygen uptake in the blood. Nitric oxide also plays a part in lowering blood pressure.
I have to put two silicon tubes in my nostrils to make nose breathing possible at night. And wrap my head with elastic bandage (like they do to dead bodies to keep their mouth shut) to prevent snoring and drying mouth. I think it's menopause that gave me this snoring problem since I'm in normal weight.
I have been using a CPAP for about 8-9 yrs and I only feel a bit more rested than before I got the machine. I sleep more than I did before, but I still look shot out some mornings and I still have deep circles under my eyes. But, my husband doesn't complain about my snoring anymore, so for that reason I would endorse it for others. Sidenote: my dr hoped when I got my sleeping and snoring settled, I would lose weight. I did not.

Xerostomia is Greek-based. Latin doesn't generally use the letter "x" unless it's a loan word. We pronounce the first X like a Z because English speakers struggle to start words with a "ks" sound. Also, I've been taping my mouth for about the last six months. It's not a foolproof solution--sometimes I'll still manage a little rumbly snore, and sometimes I'll pull the tape off during the night, and sometimes I'm too congested to breathe through my nose so I need to leave the tape off. However! It's made the biggest difference in my sleep. The first night, I woke up two hours earlier than normal, completely awake and energized. And that's been the norm for me ever since. I need less sleep and have more energy. It's great. Try putting a little lip balm on your lips beforehand so they stay moisturized and the tape doesn't stick to that part of them.
Moderate sleep apnea destroyed my life. CPAP saved my life, sleep studies were covered under my insurance as well as my cpap machine. Dry mouth can affect your oral health. Sleep deprivation would have eventually caused me to die.Thankfully B&B didn't super glue anybody. Dry mouth might lead to a tooth caries.

I have been mouth taping for several years. It is true that if you use scotch tape or a Band-Aid eventually your mouth tissue/lips will suffer. Had dry mouth as Brad describes because of medication. I bought Biotene. Recommended by my dental hygienist. It comes in a small spray bottle and a large bottle...which I refill the spray bottle with. This product contains enzymes that cause saliva production. At bedtime and occasionally through the night I spray a small amount on my front teeth. Then I move it with my tongue between the fronts of my teeth and cheek, it will cause saliva to “slowly” seep into my mouth through the night. If you spray it into an open mouth you will just have a ton of saliva that you have to swallow all at once and just need more Biotene. This has been a lifesaver for me. My apologies for the odd details but it works best this way. I’m a Canadian, so I did some homework and checked, and you can get this in the US.
