I'm fixing to start building an expedition trailer, after someone buys my off road tear drop, (its for sale in south Georgia). I have been very impressed with some of my other RedArc products, I think this will be going along with my build.
so are you adding a negative lead from fuse panel , or undoing it from battery negative terminal and putting his inline to the battery negatives? the take the positive lead to the positive side of battery.
3 questions..to use the red vision app used with the battery monitor you don't need the red vision system correct? I have a simple setup like yours and have the redarc1225 already but I am pretty sure you don't need the red vision system, just wanted to confirm with your setup? second question..if you have (2) 100AH lithium batteries in parallel you would put 200ah as the battery capacity in the app correct? last question is the range of the bluetooth. How is the distance as it states it can be used up to 137 feet away, 2hat is your ecperience?
Nope. No RedVision needed. It’s monitored from the RedVision app. Just added as another device. Yes 200 total capacity. I can monitor it through 3 walls in my house. That’s about the only distance I’ve checked lol. I haven’t don’t a real world distance test. But it is super fast connecting.
I just finished installing mine. The app shows current going out but, I’m not getting any info on the level of charge. I confirmed the battery at full charge. Any ideas why?
@@markhoffman2165 aaaaaaa. Yea.. them ausies like to take a month off. Yea mine didn’t work till I have a full charge also. Hum. Try unhooking the battery to let the internal BMS restart then rehook and put back on a charge.

Nice!
Can this conect directly to redvision screen without a BMS ?? So I can get all the details on my display ?

Your rig is almost the same as mine including mods to the XV-3.
Will this work as a standalone unit simply to monitor the battery state?
Yes, that’s the whole purpose
What is the cable on the right side for? Canbus?
There is a r-bus network socket to connect to the Manager30
Do you have to have teh Manager30 to be able to use the shunt?@@OverlandPioneers
killed my battery again...need one of these!

All I had is 8guage. Wonder if that’s the issue.
@@markhoffman2165 4-6 gauge is definitely recommended for charging.
Why can I not get battery status and time left on phone it has 0% and 28 days left
Did you make sure the battery is fully charged first?
