No disappointments in this video!! Great job Adam planning out this secret surprise adventure. Fun and so beautiful! We can not wait to see what Kathryn will do for your surprise!!
This was so incredibly fun to watch and Katherine’s reactions were a testament to Adam’s great skills in planning a wonderful surprise. Loved in Oregon all my life and have yet to visit Cape Disappointment! Now on OUR list of fun adventures ! Sending warm thoughts as you prepare for your next adventure. You are my adventure hero’s ! Your Oregon Buddy 😉
@@AdventuresofAplusK we took the day and explored Cape Disappointment after watching your amazing experience! It was an absolutely beautiful day and the views were spectacular! Walked to the two light houses, visited the Lewis & Clark interpretive center, and took a drive out to the jetty. Then crossed back over the bridge into Oregon for some great seafood along the Astoria River Walk and then climbed up to the to the top of the Astor Column ! It was a fantastic day ! Thank you again for your encouragement from your Oregon Buddy !
I was so excited getting this video notification!! Awesome planning Adam, Astoria is such a fun town with so much charm. That column nearly did me in when I climbed it but the views are totally worth it!! Your channel is one of the best travel/adventure/food ones on RUclips!👏🤴👸👏
Hey You Guys! That was a fun video full of surprises for Kathryn courtesy of Adam. I've visited some of the places you all showed and it's as beautiful as ever! Great campsite at Cape Disappointment State Park. Can't wait until your next stop! Jenny
Your videos are so pleasing to watch. I'm watching this a year after the fact, but I just love the way that you show the sights from different angles and such. It doesn't leave me feeling as thought I didn't quite get to see it in its entirety; it's very satisfying.
what a fun adventure, I loved the surprises!!! Y'all should do a cookbook on van cooking (and I'm totally not kidding- I have thought that several times before!). Enjoy catching up with friends and doing odds and ends. So excited to see the next part of the Road to Alaska adventure!
I love watching your videos. One thing I have discovered. I was losing half the beauty by watching on a phone. Today I watched on a big screen tv and it was Epic! Imagine you’re my surprise when you hiked to one of our favorite places. My husband and I rented the lighthouse keeper’s cottage in your video. It wasn’t much more expensive than a regular hotel room and we had our choice of the bedrooms because the place was huge and we had the whole thing. Thee sunset, views and the wind there were dramatic. We hiked down to the beach below the cliff. It was terrific. Thanks for the memories
We love watching videos on the tv when we can also. Which is only when we’re home in Austin 😂. We had a great time at Cape D and the lighthouse keeper’s cottage looks so nice to stay at! Thank you for watching!
I happened to stumble across this video three days ago - right before a one night trip to Cape Disappointment and glad that I did!! Managed to change our campsite to a beachfront one which made the trip so much better!!! The difference between the photos on the webpage and real life are no joke!
Wow that’s awesome! We’re glad you were able to switch it so last minute because we heard from other commenters those spots were pretty booked! Ya those photos sure under promise and the sites over deliver!
Great job, Adam!! And that campsite was 🔥 🔥 🔥 !! And I can’t believe Kathryn does the bulk of the planning! That must be so much work!! And I gotta try Dutch Bros soon!!! ☕️
The campsite was a nice surprise! Yes she is a workhorse! Dutch Bros is a must try! Tell ‘em we sent ya…they won’t give you anything, but a weird look probably! 😂
Awe, what a sweet adventure!! Oh goodness, what a beautiful place. And the raccoon, and the views, and Dutch Bros, and a RACCOON 😍😍😍😍 you guys rock. Seriously. I know I’ve asked a lot but I hope you release merch. I’d happily rock Adventures of A plus K gear!!
We had so much fun and that raccoon was super cute, huh?! Ya know…we’ve been thinking about it a little more recently! We don’t have any plans at the moment and just don’t have the time to work on it right now, but we’re not saying it’ll never happen! But no promises 😂
@@AdventuresofAplusK it really was!! Can really tell - Adam did an incredible job at planning this out! 👏 That’s totally understandable ❤️ you two have so much and are probably already out of the country at time of posting this. I hope you’re able to, one day! 🥳
I spend a weekend away from normal life at Cape Disappointment every year near the end of May-Beginning of June. It's been five years doing that, now, and it's my little piece of heaven. It was nice seeing you two enjoy it!
Woot woot! Well planned adventures Adam! This vlog was a lot of fun…it was so much fun to see Katherine enjoy it so much! Hope the next few weeks go really well for you!
So fantastic y'all! 👏👏👏👏I'm looking at places to live in this area and this region is first on my list. Your video really helped me decide. The only critique I have is there wasn't enough muzzle video of your lovely pup for me. :) I've watched many other videos on this area and yours is by far the BEST! Thank you for your enthusiasm, history-sharing, and great videography. Be well. Blessings on all of your adventures. Aloha 🤙
I hiked Cape Disappointment Trail and Deadmans cove just a few days ago. Would have never known of such a beautiful hike if it wasn't for you guys! Keep up the great content!

I’m jealous Oregon is my happy place. They are currently building a Dutch Bros in the little town that I live in (Nipomo,Ca). My wife can’t wait, we got hooked on DB on our many trips to Oregon. Thanks again for the great video. Have a great day.
Very cool 😎 video 📹 Adam is just full of surprises 😮 Astoria was a very neat place. Another movie 🎬 shot there in 1990 was with Arnold Schwarzenegger in the comedy Kindergarten cop...Loved the sea lions, waterfall, the shipwreck...and lighthouses!
Great job Adam, home run on this one!! Have been looking for some options for a road trip to the coast from Boise. Astoria / Cape Disappointment looks amazing.
Dang, that view at the top of the Astoria Column was legit! We got a DB recently in San Antonio, very cool. I think my wife Susan and I are gonna have to plan a trip to Astoria & Cape Disappointment. Great job, Adam. Definitely need more wildcard episodes like this. Lol, Salt Bae shot was funny. A+
You definitely knocked it out of the park, Adam & it was a delight watching Kathryn’s face!! Such a beautiful area - look forward to exploring that region some day!! Thx, as always, & stay safe as you cruise on up to Alaska!!!!
Love this! This is the first time my hubby and I have seen one of your videos. We love the information you share when you're traveling. You guys seem like a lot of fun and I'm happy you guys are doing what you enjoy! Keep going and we will support you all the way! Thank you for sharing!
I just watched you video about Silver Creek falls....I lived in salem until 9th grade, I went to Ilwaco high school in long beach washington, one ofy first jobs was canning fish. My parents took us to at Silver Creek on the regular. We also spent lots of vacation time in Astoria & Cannon Beach (dad was in the reserve, that brought us to the coast frequently) The big bridge used to a toll bridge. Kindergarten Cop was filmed in Astoria too 😊 Hubby & I were talking about Silver Creek, I am so happy he he played your video for me, new subscriber. 😊
Glad you enjoyed you visit. You just saw a small part of the things to do and see there. Did you know behind where you camped at the beach, you were about a couple hundred yards from some caves! More underground Barricks also, in the area. I could tell you many more places to go and see next time!
That’s the beauty of many of these places we visit…there’s always tons more to see. Unfortunately we don’t have as much time as we wish we had so we couldn’t see it all, but that’s why we’ll be coming back! ☺️ We love that whole area! Thanks for the tips!
Love you channel and videos. We live in Northern Utah and found you during a recent trip to Capitol Reef NP and Moab. It helped us plan our trip and we have enjoyed watching your other videos. We love to travel and often visit NP and the Oregon Coast and I am from MT so we enjoy your adventures. Safe travels and we look forward to your Alaska trip. Thank you!
Our number one goal is to be a resource and provide value so that makes us very happy when we hear we’ve accomplished that goal! We’re so happy we can share and thankful for what we get to do! Thank you so much for watching!
Another fun video. Adam did a good job at planning everything., not sure how he did so while secretly keeping only Kona in the loop. Glad the weather was dry. The PNW gets a tremendous amount of rain- explaining how green everything is and the beautiful waterfalls. Rest up. Looking forward to crossing Canada on the way to Alaska. 👍👍🏍🏍🏍🙋♂️
We love watching your videos! Great content and editing, so enjoyable. We traveled in our van tons when we were younger and now live vicariously through your adventures. :) Life is short, enjoy it!! Don't let the negativity you mentioned in the Q&A video get to you, sure easier said then done, but know your videos delight so many of us. Thank you!!
The problem with watching this video is seeing the great stuff I missed in an earlier trip. The most valuable thing I learned is, I need to spend more time with travel prep.
Adam, you did an awesome job with your surprises for Kathryn ❤️ We love your videos! So excited for you experience AK - it is “majestic” in every way! Our daughter, SIL and grandson live in Al and we go up every summer, unfortunately, after you live this year. Enjoy every mile😊
Astoria looks like it's worth a visit. Loved the lighthouses and that campsite was awesome. There are some Dutch Bros in SLC, I'll have to give it a try. I look forward to visiting Oregon and Washington some day.
When I first visited Ft. Stevens in 1970 the Peter Iredale wreck still had most of the plating on the bow section. Probably in another 50 years it will be all gone. See it while you can. For those folk with an interest in military history Forts Stevens, Columbia, and Canby are worth a stop. Ft. Stevens was actually shelled by a Japanese submarine in 1942. Thanks for a cool video. It was cool to see an area with which i was familiar. I got the the same rush last year when you were in Snowy Range near Laramie, WY and on the North Shore in Minnesota.
We saw pictures of when it was a bit more in tact like you mention! That would have been so cool! Oh I didn’t know that about Ft Stevens being shelled. I didn’t realize America was attacked on the mainland. Wow! The Snowy Range 😍 Thanks for watching!
@@AdventuresofAplusK The shells landed just to the east of the main N-S road in Ft. Stevens (the one you turned off of to get to the beach and the Peter Iredale). Battery Russell and other guns were ready to return fire but all they had to fire at were the muzzle flashes and it seem that the submarine was out of range (it took place at night). Also, they thought the Japanese may have been trying to attract return fire to locate the batteries. Factoid you may not know: The Japanese also attacked the US mainland with bombs (high explosive and incindiary) attached to balloons launched from Japan and carried to the US by the Jet Stream in the Stratosphere. The idea was to start forest fires in the Pacific NW. Some of them reached as far as the Midwest. AFAIK the only casulties were some people on a church picnic who found one and started messing with it and detonated it killing several people. There are very likely still a few duds deep in the forests of the Pacific NW,
Astoria is so beautiful and full of history. Adam you did well with the surprise. It was nice to see the wildlife. The nature is so beautiful. Loved the unique looking tree. I love the bridges and Fort Stevens was cool. The lighthouse was the icing on top. Fort Canby was another great surprise. Hope you had a lot of fun. Kathryn I think Adam has redeemed himself for now.
Oh Adam you outdid yourself!! Again, being there just last May makes it very memorable for me. You guys did so much that we didn't get to do. Can't believe you didn't tell people about the bridge that took you over to WA! Did you know it's the longest continuous truss bridge in North America and is 4 miles long? Cape Disappointment is absolutely NO disappointment! You guys saw so much more than we did and I LOVE that cove!! How beautiful is the PNW?! Did not see the other lighthouse! Didn't even know it was there!! Guess we have to go back......lol. Can't wait for your trip to Alaska, something that I've always wanted to do. Have you ever heard of the Alaska Marine Hwy? Look it up. Really interesting and a neat way to travel if you ever get the chance. I had never heard of it until recently. Thanks for another great video.
We didn’t know that about the bridge! That bridge is so photogenic and fun to drive! Thank you for telling us that info about it! Cape Disappointment is something else! We have heard of the ferry up to Alaska and would love to do it, but it is expensive and they don’t let you sleep in your vehicle which doesn’t make much sense to us! 🤷♂️ Thank you, Loey!
My family gets so excited when the notifications for your videos pop up. Thanks again for the quality content, y’all! Best wishes from a fellow Texan (Houstonian!)
Good job Adam looks like a cool fun day. I like that tower awesome view. DB is my go to coffee stop in the morning before work . I like the iced islander with coconut milk.
Cape Disappointment State Park used to be called Fort Canby State Park and it is a great place. I live in WA and have great memories of a camp trip there just before Sr year in high school. Have been back with my kids as well on our way back from Cannon Beach in OR. This video may have prompted me for a trip back out to the coast and Astoria. You two do great videos. Nice job Adam.
I loved this video❣️ It was so nice to see Kathryn surprised and so happy seeing each new destination! Way to go, Adam…great job! So beautiful everywhere…I loved the spot that Kathryn had been looking forward to seeing the tree on top of the rock in the water…gorgeous! It amazes me how you catch the little things like a snail on a plant and are able to get a pic of the cute raccoon! Oh and that campsite was crazy wonderful! Another great video! Loved all the shots with Kona too! Keep traveling safe.
I loved seeing Kathryn’s face at each place! It was a lot of fun! I hope we can do more of this. The beach with the rock was a gorgeous spot and the campsite was a pleasant surprise! We’ve been catching a lot of snails and other little critters lately! Creepy crawly!
Hello Adventurers😊😊, Adam you are THE MAN! You did everything and Kathryn trying to figure out where are we going😄😄. You know, I'm wondering if y'all are going to a place that my brother and I visited...Olympic National Park! Rialto Beach--Hoh Rainforest----Sol Doc Falls--Hurricane Ridge...i can only wait to see what's next. OUTSTANDING video👍👍👍👍👍👍.
We thought pretty hard about going there this trip, but just didn’t have time 😫. But we have been before and it is AMAZING! It’s actually one of my favorite national parks! Thanks a lot, Al!

Fabulous sights ! Such a amazing area to see! Great job 👏 Adam. Can not beat that campsite you found! Enjoy getting ready for the trip into Canada 🇨🇦
The campsite was a pleasant surprise!
That was cool! And now it's "North to Alaska". With you two it ought to be a great adventure.
Hopefully a smooth one! 🤪
My husband and I enjoy watching you two so much!! So beautiful and informative! Stay safe and God bless you on your travels..❤️❤️
Thank you both! ❤️💙
Really fun- what a great idea! Thank you!
Thanks for watching!
Great job Adam!! You set the bar high and delivered. Great video/adventure as always!
Thank you! We had a great time!
What a well deserved 'time off' and surprise for you! I love your adventures! Thanks for sharing!!
We’re happy to share! Thanks for watching!
Luckily Kona can keep a secret 😂 We lucked out with the weather on this adventure! It rained the day before and after. We’re so pumped!
Thank you!!
We’re happy to share! Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching! ❤️💙
I never knew that the area had so many interesting points. When you come back, I’d love to see Fort Clatsop.
Oh ya that area is loaded with history! The old military forts and bases are fun to explore!
Awww this was so great! Way to go Adam!
Thank you! ☺️👍
Fun video, thanks guys.
The problem with watching this video is seeing the great stuff I missed in an earlier trip. The most valuable thing I learned is, I need to spend more time with travel prep.
Another great video. So beautiful and peaceful place to be. Thank you for showing us around. Can't wait to see the next adventure 😍. Stay safe✌️
Thanks, Agnes!
Thank you so much! ☺️ I had a ton of fun planning it! We are so excited for AK!
Adam you ROCK! Kat you deserve to have a surprise adventure! Fabulous video guys thanks for taking us along! ~Cara 😊 (always love the bloops too!)
Thank you! ☺️❤️
Astoria looks like it's worth a visit. Loved the lighthouses and that campsite was awesome. There are some Dutch Bros in SLC, I'll have to give it a try. I look forward to visiting Oregon and Washington some day.
It’s totally worth a visit! Lots of charm and history! Dutch Bros is also worth a try! Thanks, Eric!
I’m a local to Astoria. Pretty cool to see this pop up on my recommended. Safe travels
Thanks for watching!
Another great episode. Thanks
❤️❤️
Only discovered you guys recently. Your style and photography and editing skills are outstanding. Have subscribed and enjoying your Vlogs!
Thank you so much, Simon!
So excited to see you guys enjoying our little slice of SW Washington and Oregon! Looking forward to seeing your next adventure!
We always love the PNW! Thanks, Janet!
Wow!
The Snowy Range 😍
Thanks for watching!
There are very likely still a few duds deep in the forests of the Pacific NW,
What a wonderful video. Love you guys care for each other. Couple goals!!!
❤️💙
From a local who is familiar with both Longview and Astoria, loved seeing this.
❤️💙
Astoria is so beautiful and full of history. Adam you did well with the surprise. It was nice to see the wildlife. The nature is so beautiful. Loved the unique looking tree. I love the bridges and Fort Stevens was cool. The lighthouse was the icing on top. Fort Canby was another great surprise. Hope you had a lot of fun. Kathryn I think Adam has redeemed himself for now.
We did have a ton of fun! I hope I have redeemed myself a bit! 😂 thanks!
Super Fun video!!!😃👍🏼
❤️❤️
My husband and I visited Cape Disappointment on the windiest day ever and could barely stand but the lighthouses were beautiful!
Yes the lighthouses are beautiful in just about any weather! Thanks for watching!
Y'all are great I'm on my way to Florence Oregon from Atlanta used to live there a long time ago seaside and Newport good job on your videos
how FUN astoria has always been on my bucket list!!
As it should be!
Thank you, Loey!
Aw! This was such a fun video! I loved it!
Thanks! We had a blast!
So nice when you can surprise your partner especially when you are always together. Nice job.
Yes it was a very fun time! ☺️
My family gets so excited when the notifications for your videos pop up. Thanks again for the quality content, y’all! Best wishes from a fellow Texan (Houstonian!)
Thank you so much for watching! Go Stros!
Awesome vid..! Adam did an excellent job on planning 👏 👌
Thanks, Sherry! ☺️
Good job Adam looks like a cool fun day. I like that tower awesome view. DB is my go to coffee stop in the morning before work . I like the iced islander with coconut milk.
Oooooo we’ll have to try the iced islander. That sounds tasty!
We hope you can get back out there soon! We had a great time! Thanks and thanks for watching!
So fun!
Awesome awesome job Adam! The campsite, the cooking, everything is just perfect! I am so jealous!!! 😍😍😍
Thank you! ☺️
Fun fun. Great planning and execution. Glad all the surprises worked out! Enjoy your time visiting friends and hope all goes well getting the van ready. We're traveling to Seattle late summer for our son's wedding. Maybe we can go a little south and visit some of these lovely places. Thanks and we'll keep watching. 🌎🙂
We’re all set for the rest of the journey! We hope you have a great time in Seattle! Summer is the perfect time to visit. Thanks for watching!
