If you are planning to watch the whole series, you won’t be able to finish it in just one weekend. It took me almost 10 days to finish the whole series without doing anything but just cooking And doing my small stuff alongwith watching the series. But I must say, this is a must watch series. It has great life learning.

Basically, when Dushasana drags Draupadi by her hair into the court, flings her to the ground to humiliate her and then grabs her saree to undress her in public. Draupadi clings to her saree and begs everyone in the court to help her and they turn their eyes away including her husbands. As long as she clings to the saree, Dushasana is able to pull the saree. Finally when she knows, nobody is going to help her and she cannot save herself, she throws her arms up to the Lord and seeks his protection. That is when Lord Krishna intervenes and the bandage that she had tied on him once comes to protect her. Much later on in the story, Draupadi asks Lord Krishna, why did you allow this to happen to me, why didnt you help me, He responds, I did. when you called my name, I came. But you called me at the end, not in the beginning. When you let go of everything and trusted in me, then I was there. Draupadi does not open her eyes through the entire trauma and recites the Lord's name. Hindu mythology is very powerful helps in times of trouble. The chant that you hear in the beginning is from the Bhagavad Gita, whenever there is injustice and righteousness does not prevail, I will manifest myself and be there to protect you.

The story is called Mahabharata, which is basically a fight for the Kingdom turned into a great battle lasted for 18 days. They say this particular incident led to the Great Kurukshetra war. Draupadi was a young aged woman born out of fire when requested by King Drupada. She had to marry Pandavas due to the reason that the Pandavas mother, Kunti, asked them to divide her among all of her sons without noticing. By the suggestion of Sage Veda Vyasa and Lord Krishna, Pandavas agreed to marry Draupadi, and she agreed too. Kauravas, along with their maternal uncle, King Shakuni, always wanted the throne for themselves. Under various incidents, Kauravas invited Pandavas to play the dice game, where Shakuni uses his magic to roll dice in favor of Kauravas. Pandavas lost their kingdom earned from Kauravas father, King Dhritarashtra, de facto king of Pandavas father's kingdom. They lost their freedom, they lost themselves, and they lost their wife as well. So to humiliate Pandavas, the eldest of Kauravas, Duryodhana, ordered his brother, Dusshasana, to undress her. To save Draupadi from this, Lord Krishna used his divine powers. They lived in exile for 12 years, one year incognito, and came back, fought the war, eventually killing their family, losing their own sons, grandfather, teacher, father-in-law, cousins and everything.

This incident happened when the Pandavas lost the game of dice against Kauravas (their brothers) and were enslaved by them. At the last round of the game Yudhishtir (eldest brother of the Pandavas) was forced to put even his wife Draupadi on bet and as usually lost her too, owed to the magical dice used by Shakuni ( from the side of the Kauravas) to manipulate the game. Then, Duryodhana ordered Dushashan to bring Draupadi to the court and disgrace her infront of everyone. The five brothers could not do anything but cry and begged for letting her go but Duryodhana didn't stop. Dushashan started disrobing her and Draupadi called upon her beloved friend Krishna for helping her. Thereby Krishna, the supreme being, the Almighty, himself saved her beloved sakhi ( friend) Draupadi from disgrace by sending infinite amounts of clothes to cover her whereby uncovering that piece of cloth that Draupadi once had used to cover the wound on his fingers. This is true love, this is true friendship. The epic of Mahabharata begins from the reign of King Santanu . He had many successors and his kingdom spread over areas . Two of his later successors were King Dritarasthra , King Pandu and minister Vidur . Draupadi daughter of King Drupad . She was also known as Panchali , as she was the princess of the state of Panchal . She was married to the Panch Pandavas ( " Panch " meaning five and " Pandavas " meaning son of King Pandu) ,i.e, five sons of King Pandu . The Pandavas were - 1. Yujisthira 2. Bheema 3. Arjuna 4. Nakula 5. Sahadeva Kauravas were the son of King Dritarasthra . Dritarasthra had 100 sons and one daughter . The known ones are - Duryodhana ( the eldest of all ) and Durshana ( younger than Duryodhana). Although the daughter was very humble and had morals values but the sons were misguided by their maternal uncle, Shakuni . The Kauravas along with their maternal uncle , Shakuni took all the wealth of the Pandavas in a game of chess and finally they wanted the wife of the Pandavas, Draupadi , to be their servant thus the eldest of the Kauravas, Duryodhana ordered his younger brother, Durshana to bring her to the court by pulling her by her hair , disobeying the elders . The humiliation of Draupadi is one the most powerful reason for which the war of Kurukshetra began and the epic MAHABHARATA was formed . The God who was crying is regarded as the brother as well as friend of Draupadi . As Draupadi was drawn to the court by her hair , she promised not to tie it until she washes it with the blood of Durshana and cursed the Kauravas . Along with it the holy book , Bhagavad Gita was written based on the message of the Universal truth of Victory over evil that , the God of Universe , Lord Krishna gave to one of the five brothers, Arjuna during the war . Moreover during the war the Panch Pandavas lost their in - laws and sons but with the support of Lord Krishna they continued the war with the Kauravas . The Kauravas also lost their brothers and relatives but continued to fight . Bheema , being the most powerful of all Pandavas broke the hands of Durshana and killed Duryodhana in the war for trying to humiliate Draupadi . Draupadi washed her hair with Durshana 's blood and then she began to tie her hair again .

Thank you for your genuine and honest reaction. Yes, this scene gets to me every time. Basically, when Dushasana drags Draupadi by her hair into the court, flings her to the ground to humiliate her and then grabs her saree to undress her in public. Draupadi clings to her saree and begs everyone in the court to help her and they turn their eyes away including her husbands. As long as she clings to the saree, Dushasana is able to pull the saree. Finally when she knows, nobody is going to help her and she cannot save herself, she throws her arms up to the Lord and seeks his protection. That is when Lord Krishna intervenes and the bandage that she had tied on him once comes to protect her. Much later on in the story, Draupadi asks Lord Krishna, why did you allow this to happen to me, why didnt you help me, He responds, I did. when you called my name, I came. But you called me at the end, not in the beginning. When you let go of everything and trusted in me, then I was there. Draupadi does not open her eyes through the entire trauma and recites the Lord's name. Hindu mythology is very powerful helps in times of trouble. The chant that you hear in the beginning is from the Bhagavad Gita, whenever there is injustice and righteousness does not prevail, I will manifest myself and be there to protect you.

The one who was pulling her cloth, his name is Dushyasan. The one who send cloth to save her was 'Krishna'. Also watch how draupadi's husband, bheem killed him and how her hairs were washed by his blood. You were right, only falling down while pulling her clothes was not enough punishment. Watch his death scene. He was killed by draupadi's husband with very much cruelty. And draupadi washed her hairs with his hot blood.

The story is called Mahabharata, which is basically a fight for the Kingdom turned into a great battle lasted for 18 days.
They say this particular incident led to the Great Kurukshetra war.
Draupadi was a young aged woman born out of fire when requested by King Drupada. She had to marry Pandavas due to the reason that the Pandavas mother, Kunti, asked them to divide her among all of her sons without noticing. By the suggestion of Sage Veda Vyasa and Lord Krishna, Pandavas agreed to marry Draupadi, and she agreed too.
Kauravas, along with their maternal uncle, King Shakuni, always wanted the throne for themselves. Under various incidents, Kauravas invited Pandavas to play the dice game, where Shakuni uses his magic to roll dice in favor of Kauravas. Pandavas lost their kingdom earned from Kauravas father, King Dhritarashtra, de facto king of Pandavas father's kingdom. They lost their freedom, they lost themselves, and they lost their wife as well.
So to humiliate Pandavas, the eldest of Kauravas, Duryodhana, ordered his brother, Dusshasana, to undress her.
To save Draupadi from this, Lord Krishna used his divine powers.
They lived in exile for 12 years, one year incognito, and came back, fought the war, eventually killing their family, losing their own sons, grandfather, teacher, father-in-law, cousins and everything.
This serial is the best and also this story happened in real and the Pandavas are my grandfathers and dushashan the one that tried to remove her dress gets his arms ripped off by Bheem one of her husband

This incident happened when the Pandavas lost the game of dice against Kauravas (their brothers) and were enslaved by them. At the last round of the game Yudhishtir (eldest brother of the Pandavas) was forced to put even his wife Draupadi on bet and as usually lost her too, owed to the magical dice used by Shakuni ( from the side of the Kauravas) to manipulate the game.
Then, Duryodhana ordered Dushashan to bring Draupadi to the court and disgrace her infront of everyone. The five brothers could not do anything but cry and begged for letting her go but Duryodhana didn't stop.
Dushashan started disrobing her and Draupadi called upon her beloved friend Krishna for helping her. Thereby Krishna, the supreme being, the Almighty, himself saved her beloved sakhi ( friend) Draupadi from disgrace by sending infinite amounts of clothes to cover her whereby uncovering that piece of cloth that Draupadi once had used to cover the wound on his fingers. This is true love, this is true friendship.
This incident states that if you love God, if you have faith in him then how worse your situation be, He will always stand by you and protect you from the worst of circumstances ❤️

so i am a Pakistani muslim but as a kid i used to be obsessed with indian dramas. i saw mahabharat as a kid and then i was obsessed with the ost but still as a kid i understood some parts. two weeks ago i somehow remembered this drama and watched it all over and i literally cried my eyes out during this scene. i cried evertime i saw karna and kunti. that day i was in love with bhisma, and when i rewatched the series i remembered y i loved him so much. overall a great series. the ost is just out of this world. also the ,ik maa ki do santanein, song is too good
The epic of Mahabharata begins from the reign of King Santanu . He had many successors and his kingdom spread over areas .
Two of his later successors were King Dritarasthra , King Pandu and minister Vidur .
Draupadi daughter of King Drupad . She was also known as Panchali , as she was the princess of the state of Panchal .
She was married to the Panch Pandavas ( " Panch " meaning five and " Pandavas " meaning son of King Pandu) ,i.e, five sons of King Pandu . The Pandavas were -
1. Yujisthira
2. Bheema
3. Arjuna
4. Nakula
5. Sahadeva
Kauravas were the son of King Dritarasthra . Dritarasthra had 100 sons and one daughter . The known ones are - Duryodhana ( the eldest of all ) and Durshana ( younger than Duryodhana).
Although the daughter was very humble and had morals values but the sons were misguided by their maternal uncle, Shakuni .
The Kauravas along with their maternal uncle , Shakuni took all the wealth of the Pandavas in a game of chess and finally they wanted the wife of the Pandavas, Draupadi , to be their servant thus the eldest of the Kauravas, Duryodhana ordered his younger brother, Durshana to bring her to the court by pulling her by her hair , disobeying the elders .
The humiliation of Draupadi is one the most powerful reason for which the war of Kurukshetra began and the epic MAHABHARATA was formed .
The God who was crying is regarded as the brother as well as friend of Draupadi .
As Draupadi was drawn to the court by her hair , she promised not to tie it until she washes it with the blood of Durshana and cursed the Kauravas .
Along with it the holy book , Bhagavad Gita was written based on the message of the Universal truth of Victory over evil that , the God of Universe , Lord Krishna gave to one of the five brothers, Arjuna during the war .
Moreover during the war the Panch Pandavas lost their in - laws and sons but with the support of Lord Krishna they continued the war with the Kauravas .
The Kauravas also lost their brothers and relatives but continued to fight .
Bheema , being the most powerful of all Pandavas broke the hands of Durshana and killed Duryodhana in the war for trying to humiliate Draupadi .
Draupadi washed her hair with Durshana 's blood and then she began to tie her hair again .
Though I don't consider Star Plus' Mahabharat as real Mahabharat but if foreigners are going to know about My India's history, our god by watching this then I am proud of it.

It is because of a curse, she had to lead a horrific life. She had several misfortunes and difficulties in her life. Her 5 Husbands sitting there is due to one such incident in her life. In a game of a kind of gamble they become slaves and lost their wife as well. They could not save her seeing all the inhuman act going on in front of them. The "Draupadi" being a true devotee of Lord Krishna, called upon him for her rescue. Lord saved her and evils had to stop.
This is very short what we can tell you as Hindu, for complete story you have to see a series of episodes from "Mahabharat" serial then only you can understand completely. It has Lifes most valuable teachings that can not be taught in any School or University. Your whole life is worthless if you have not seen or read "Mahabharat"
